Hotel staff were superb. Absolutely helpful and friendly with anything asked about. the room was nicely decorated, clean and everything working. the hotel is also in an excellent location, close to metro, eiffel tower and rue cler has many restaurants and rue motte-picquet has a couple of supermarkets close by. i had a really lovely stay and would recommend it. a great price for the quality and location.

I'm very glad I found this charming hotel here. The location cannot be beat - Rue Cler is right next door with many wonderful shops and restaurants, Champs du Mars is less than a 10-minute walk, the metro is steps from the door. Tina, Maxim, and indeed all of the reception staff, were very helpful and kind. All rooms in Paris are small, but we found this one perfectly fine for our stay. The bathroom was much larger than we ever expected! The only thing to be aware of is that the mattresses (at least in our room) were very hard. This was a bit tough on my back. But that would not keep me from staying here again. Merci!

typicall small french room - great french window, very small shower, tasteful interior. perfect and cheap (compared to a cab) transpartation service to/from the airport. anyhow, the hotel is just 1 minute from subway "ecole militaire" away. la rue cler is perfect for everything: cafe le cler - best food (taste the desserts), great deli's, where you can buy everything for a romantic picknic at sacre-coeur with a great view over paris and the sunset directly in front. have fun

We are accustomed to European rooms and the fact they are not spacious. However, the room, bathroom and shower stall bordered on midget size. We could not get our luggage comfortably into the room; only one person at a time could enter the bathroom and the shower stall was so tight it didn't allow for you to use the shower nozzle to spray yourself. In addition, we discovered two other hotels in the area with more spacious rooms for 30 to 40 euros less per night with breakfast included. Our room price did not even include breakfast!

My mother and I had a fantastic stay at this hotel in October 2009. The location was perfect and we were close to both the subway and within walking distance of many of the places we wanted to go. The hotel staff were very informative and helpful and we relied on them for restaurant suggestions each night and they did not disappoint.

I was traveling with friends, and we had three rooms. All of us were very satisfied, even though considerable renovation of the hotel was taking place at the time of our visit. I've been to Paris many times, and this was the best three-star hotel experience. The staff is outstanding--smart, pleasant and extremely helpful and responsive.

If i were to rate the hotel based on Mo and Tina's professionalism and friendliness, i'd give it a 10. As for the room, the walls were paper thin, i could hear people in adjacent rooms brush their teeth. I don't think the price was worth it. I found a hotel near the Louvre area with so much more space but cheaper.

We go to Paris twice a year, and this is the best budget hotel we have ever stayed. The room was charmingly decorated, with a good view of Paris streets. The bathroom was very nice and roomy (not tight as most Paris hotel bathrooms) The location was the best. Close to everywhere. Walking distance to all the attractions. Cash stations next door, subway very close. Service minded staff with good English. Nice airport shuttle service. Free wireless everywhere.

I stayed at the Motte Picquet during 3 nights at the beginning of May. It's a lovely small hotel, with an excellent situation (near Rue Cler). The employees, were very nice and efficient. The only possible problem could be the spaciousness of the rooms, that are very small although they are nicely decorated. We had a great stay there, thank you very much.

Our superior room was quiet, attractive and comfortable (even if smallish). The mini refrigerator and hot water kettle were a great convenience. Location very near the Metro and around the corner from the Rue Cler was excellent. We truly enjoyed our stay here.

Hotel Motte Picquet turned out to be a great location and hotel for our first trip to Paris. We took a cab to and from the train station for ease of our luggage, then walked, took the metro, or picked up the Open Tour bus at stop 16 a couple blocks away the rest of our time there. They also could be the most helpful and knowledgeable front desk staff my wife and I have encountered on any our trips. They REALLY stood out.

Paris at Christmas ... beautiful!! I can only reiterate other's comments; suffice to say we will stay here again. Family of 5 (two college, one high school student - and parents.) The kids had a suite (room 303) which was divided over two floors and slept four, total) just adorable! Very Parisian in decor. Can't beat the location and excellent value for money. Highly recommend! Oh, and for those of you who travel with a pet ... they're made welcome too!

The room was no bigger than a pillbox, but I guess it is normal for Paris. The bathroom was ridiculously small and if you closed the door you could not sit and 'do your business" as your legs wouldn't fit. (Literally). BUT it is a 10 minute walk from the Eiffel Tower and the handiness of the fabulous market street of Rue Cler which is right around the corner, and the proximity of the Metro (Only one block away) made this a great place to stay and we could overlook the tininess of the room. Worth mentioning was the wonderful service we received from both the woman and the young man who worked at the front desk......I'm sorry I didn't get their names. but both were So friendly and so helpful -- in fact the young man bailed us out of a panic situation (he managed to get a $500 euro bill changed into smaller bills for us) when even the banks wouldn't help. Oh -- and yes -- the bill was real, not counterfeit!!! PS -- don't take bills larger than 50 euros -- no body wants to take them....

The was a typical "Parisian" hotel - nothing totally modern yet clean, fresh and loaded with charm. Rooms are small but that was expected and they were remarkably clean. Bathrooms take a bit of getting used to (especially the showers) but this added to the charm. The location was better than perfect - just several blocks to the Eiffel Tower, directly next to Rue Cler (a wonderful pedestrian street with cafes, bakeries, shops, etc) and close to several Open Bus tour stops. The area was very quiet at night yet bustling during the day. Mo and Sandra at reception are absolutely delightful and always most helpful. We stayed in two rooms - my daughter and I in a double and my mom in a single. We were very comfortable here and felt very safe as we were three women traveling alone. I highly recommend this wonderful hotel and will definitely stay there again when I make it back to Paris!

We loved this little hotel. Upon arrival our room was not quite ready so they gave us complimentary coffe and orange juice while we waited. The man at reception desk, Mo, was very helpful. He always had a smile for us and always showed us how to get to the places we were searching for. It wasn't until our last evening that I found out from him that there was a market down the street our hotel is on! That street has good restaurants and during market days it is beautufil with fruits and breads and cheeses, chickens roasting in rotesseries over potatoes. I get excited about the food. He did everything for us and helped us get a van to the airport. I would definately stay there again!

The staff of Hotel Motte Picquet were very helpful especially in navigating around Paris. The rooms were comfortable but small and had a very Parisian feel. The shower in our bathroom wasn't very good because water got everywhere and it flooded the bathroom and there was no drain for it to escape. The location was good, it was a couple minutes walk to metro underground and restaurants, shops and cafes were just around the corner. The Eiffel Tower was only a 15 minute walk away. Teenage children liked the fact the internet was free.

Nice simple hotel in a fantastic location (10 min walk from the Eiffel Tower, 3 mins from metro station Ecole Militaire or something like that). A very nice end of Paris but a very expensive area as well. The hotel did exactly what we required, very reasonable price, great location, clean and warm. you might think this was an excellent location: right beside the Eiffel Tower, however how much time will you be spending there? It is quite the trek to any of the other sights, but at least you are in the center of Paris. There are a few restaurants around, but not as many as I thought there would be. Rooms were small, as expected, but charming enough. Our major complaint was that their desk staff locked the front door before 2130 and then took a break, leaving us outside for 45 min waiting to get in. Wouldn't answer the doorbell. We assumed they were watching tele and didn't hear. Then they had the nerve to lecture us on the proper operation of the doorbell to save face, instead of apoligizing. very poor customer treatment (for the night staff at least, the day staff were perfectly accomodating).

It was about ten minutes walk to the eiffel tower and the metro station was just next to the hotel so the location was good. Breakfast was served in the rooms and was 10 euros so we didn't bother. It was ok for the price.

Very nice hotel in a wonderful location. The room was not big but clean and confortable. I would recommend the hotel if the price is not the highest priority

The first night I had an awful room facing the Avenue. It was noisy and small and the bathroom was in a type of expanded walk-in closet. After asking to be changed the following night, my room was much nicer. Staff was always polite and welcoming.
