I have been in Paris a lot and this is precisely what I would desire from the hotel quality there. The rooms are not the smallest, nor the largest but they are interesting and well kempt. What I really like though is the way this is hotel is just off the main streets and in a little alcove which makes it lovely and quiet. The area is much as I knew it to be (not my favourite) but at the same time, if you need to be staying there this is a great little hotel. Staff were very helpful and even let me print for free.

Well located hotel. Staff very helpful. Room size exactly what you would expect from a parisian hotel not massive. No tea coffee but I would not expect this in a hotel in paris. Quite noisy at night, but you are in a city centre so be expected. Hotel was reasonably value for money. We had a quad room with two young children and were very happy. Had breakfast in a cafe round the corner. Would stay here again and would recommend.

A good small hotel in Paris with great access to central areas (three tube stations closeby) and near lots of shops, cafes, restaurants and tourist attractions and great prices for this very expensive city. The bedroom was small but comfortable and clean, comfortable beds, working TV of good size, and small balcony. Bathroom with decent size, clean, good shower, clean towels, good supply of toiletries. Breakfast also quite reasonable (cereals, orange juice, small baguette, butter and jam, and coffee/tea). Staff were great, always very helpful and accommodating. Had stayed there before (Dec 2013) and very, very happy to return with friends for a long weekend. Definitely recommend.

Very nice, clean and calm hotel. Hotel is well situated, but the first time going there it was difficult to find it. The hotel suits very well also for persons travelling alone, like myself. Good thing is that there is a safe box in every room. WIFI also worked OK in my room, it was even faster than I expected. Room was warm enough, even in the night so no problem with that either. The breakfast was simple (no eggs or fruit), but worth the 6 euros it cost. I can warmly recommend this hotel and I believe I also will return there myself.

please note that "rue de reougemont" and "rue de la cite rougement" are not the same road. To reach the hotel you have to walk till the end of rue de rougemont (100 mt) and at the end of the street, on the left you will find "rue de la cite rougement". At the first look if you arrive at 4,rue rougement and you don't see the hotel it's a bit shocking... we realised it was a different street after 10 minutes panic.

A bit of a hidden treasure. Very central, easy to get to all the sights, in a quiet location, spotlessly clean and lovely, friendly and helpful staff. Only small complaints were a slightly hard mattress on the bed and no tea or coffee facilities in the room. However these are minor and I thought it was excellent. Thoroughly recommended.

Nice location, about 15min walk straight to Louvre. Plenty of nice restaurants around the hotel. Hotel Rougemont is next to Grands Boulevards metro station, but only lines 8 and 9 go through it, so you will have to change lines in order to get to the attractions by metro. For its price the hotel room was nice. A bit small room, but for a short stay its perfect. The room was clean, clean sheets and a daily clean-up. The bed was not as comfy as I am used to at home, but after a long day in Paris attractions I had a good night sleep. As the days were hot in August, it was pretty warm at nights in the room because there was no air condition, but it was possible to open up the balcony door to get some fresh air. Nice little flat screen tv. The breakfast (6€) was a typical french breakfast: a croissant, bread, coffee, orange juice and cereal. Before my visit in Paris I heard a lot of negative things what to expect from Paris hotels, and I was positively surprised when I arrived to Rougemont. All in all, I recommend this hotel.

The stay was great. The hotel was nice and clean and easy to get places on the metro from. There were sometimes homeless people and groups of rowdy men hanging out at the entrance to the street the hotel is off of so that wasn't ideal but not the fault of the hotel. The only thing I would say to be improved on was that they should have signs to put on your door if you don't want maid service. We had been traveling for two weeks and all we wanted was to sleep in all morning, and the maid knocked on our door and tried to come in three times. We kept saying "no thank you" but she kept coming back. Finally we opened the door and asked her to skip our room today. It was very frustrating. Other than that, good hotel!!

Hotel staffs were nice and helpful. No kettle provided but we were allowed to get hot water from their kitchen. But the room was tiny! Without airconditioning, and only one ceiling to floor window! In order to have fresh air we had no choice, we opened the window whole night... We were on the first floor, the room was accessible by others through the window! Luckily my husband thought of setting up a trap if someone's gonna come in our room... All in all will never stay there anymore!

This hotel was great. It exceeded my expectations. As was pointed out in previous reviews, this is a no frills hotel. My room which I shared with my mother was exactly as seen on the hotel website. The interior decorating is cute (loved the taupe and light teal colour) and the bathroom is modern and clean. I also loved the location: easy access to walk to some of the major tourist attractions and big departments stores (i.e., Au Printemps and Galleries LaFayette). The lowest rating I gave was a "7" for price and quality. For Paris standards, it was "ok", but somewhat pricey for a "2" star (compared to other North American "2" star hotels). Also, one of the front desk staff was extremely helpful in giving me Metro directions to Notre Dame. She was very friendly. All in all, I would strongly consider staying here again as I would like to return to Paris soon!

When I began researching reasonably priced hotels that aren't completely scuzzy and that are located in a safe area, I began to believe that such an establishment did not exist in Paris. Hotel de la cité Rougemont proved me wrong. For the price I paid, I was prepared for a just-passable hotel, and nothing more. In fact, this hotel was clean, comfortable, and welcoming. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles like the 5 stars, but still had everything we needed (towels, extra pillows, hairdryer, etc.)Even as someone especially picky with the cleanliness issue, I was more than satisfied. A huge huge plus is customer service. I orginally messed up my hotel booking and called to see if I could change it last minute. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and kind throughout that process, and made the necessary changes without any extra charges. Additionally, the first night I was in the area my friends and I got lost due to the fact that we are all directionally impaired. We called the hotel and got directions from the most patient man in this world. He even stayed on the phone with us as it was late, and offered to come out to the street to find us. Essentially, clean and comfortable, very reasonably priced for Paris, and staffed with angels. I would definitely advise staying here.

The rooms were very clean and nice, no comment on that, but the staf was really dissapointing! The receptionist was unfriendly and appeared like she didn't like her job! When we had to go to our room when we arrived, we couldn't get in to the allivator because the cleaning lady was in the allivator and didn't move so we had to go with our bags by the stairs! Such a beautiful hotel, nicely located, but really dissapointing staf!

Very helpful staff that made us feel welcome. Rooms are tight but we were only in the room to sleep. Very nice comfortable bathrooms. Hotel is located a good 15-20 min walk from the Louvre, but there is a Metro station within 2 blocks. Once we figured that out, trips all around the city became a breeze. **This hotel is kind of hard to find the first time, it's tucked away on a side street that has no car access. Perfect for our family - we had a two room suite, one room for the kids, one room for us. Rooms were spotless and pretty and TINY - with a balcony. The hotel faces a little alley, so there is not much noise, but people stand outside and smoke and laugh sometimes, so the smell and the noise certainly drift up to the rooms. I would think in the summer the rooms would be Very hot, but for fall, winter and spring, it is a perfect hotel.
