We appreciated that the hotel is in a residantial area, so bakery/shops/metro/caffees are easy to reach.

Staff is very helpful. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Our room had only one power plug, so we had to buy a power strip at a small hardware store about 1 block from the hotel. Rooms have no air conditioning, but you can get a fan at the same store. Walking distance to metro station Lamarck-Coulaincourt; a bit farther to Guy Moquet station on Avenue de Saint-Ouen, where there are lots of restaurants/stores.

The hotel was in a good area, easy to get to the metro. The rooms were tiny, the lobby non exsistant, and for the price, we expected more. Aside from that, the room was clean, the hotel quiet, and it was a nice place to come back to at night.

Hotel De Flore is very convenient, well priced and close to metro travel. It is also located in an interesting area and within walking distance of the City.

WE WERE VERY HAPPY WITH THE HOTEL DE FLORE, IT WAS IN AN EXCELLENT LOCATION BOTH FOR THE METRO FOR SIGHTSEEING IN THE DAY AND RESTAURANTS AND CAFES IN THE EVENING. WE WOULD RECOMMEND THE HOTEL DE FLORE TO ANYONE ALTHOUGH A LITTLE STEEP IN THE SURROUNDING AREA. WE HAD A TRIPLE ROOM WHICH WAS PERFECT FOR OUR REQUIREMENTS. THE SEPARATE BATHROOM AND TOILET WAS BETTER THAN BEING TOGETHER FOR 3 ADULTS. WE WOULD HAVE NO HESITATION IN RETURNING.

We stayed 5 nights in this hotel. Everything was how described and to our satisfaction. The only issue is the fact that we could hear everything that was happening in the hallway, so early birds would wake us up while leaving their rooms. Other than this, this is a nice and clean low budget hotel situated in a great area of Paris.

This hotel is not recommended for first time visitors to Paris. It's a bit far from the main tourist attractions. What's good about the hotel is that there are nearby good restaurants, a grocery, bakeries, and free wi-fi. Sacre Coeur is within 15 minutes on foot.

We had a nice room we stayed for 2 nights it was very clean the only thing we found odd was the toilet and shower were in two different rooms. It was very european on a quiet street close to the metro.

We stayed at the De Flore in late September 08. I would have on reservations in recommending this hotel. We did not have breakfast but there were plenty facilities around the hotel. Special recommendations for the near-by boulangerie and La Refuge, a brasserie across from the metro station, there is also a local supermarket which does good picnic type food. The metro is within easy walking distance of the hotel, the Monmatre is built on hills so this should be taken into account by the less fit!Steep steps opposite the hotel take you to the busier main rue in the area with an even wider rangs of facilities, well worth a look. Over all well recommended

clean but very dated decor. the bathroom was especially outdated, with that mini-bathtub and no holder for the shower head. great location though!

The hotel's location in the beautiful Montremont District was ideal for our needs, with plenty of shops, cafe's and restaurants frequented by Parisians - and not tourists! The hotel was a good value, and was very secure and clean - which are highly important to us.

For a 2 star hotel, Hotel De Flore offers spotlessly clean and comfortable, though basic, rooms. Obviously this isn't the place for luxury, but if you want a quiet (especially if you get a room at the back overlooking the courtyard), clean, no frills hotel with good transport links (it's only a couple of minutes walk from the Metro) in a non-touristy street, it's a good bet. Skip the breakfast - there are good cafes close by where you'll get better and cheaper croissants!

Very good hotel, very safe surrounding. All beautiful and interesting places at Montmartre are within the walking distance. For exploring Paris, the Metro station (Lamarck) is at 5 minutes walk. Hotel does not have its own parking facility, but we were able to park the car for free (possible only in August!) in a quiet street just arround the corner. Room (3 beds) was enough spatious, very clean, oriented to the back side, so very quiet also. The employees were very helpful, they all speak good English. I am sure that Hotel De Flore will be our choice for next visit to Paris.

WE FIRST STAYED AT THE HOTEL DE FLORE ABOUT 40 YEARS AGO AND HAVE BEEN RETURNING SPORADICALLY SINCE THEN, MAKING IT OUR FIRST CHOICE WHENEVER WE HAVE BEEN IN PARIS. THE LOCATION IS IDEAL FOR THE METRO, CAFES AND RESTAURANTS, TOGETHER WITH SHOPS AND SUPERMARKETS, ALL OF WHICH ARE TO BE FOUND WITHIN A SHORT DISTANCE, ALTHOUGH THE HILLY LOCATION MAY BE A DISADVANTAGE FOR SOME. THE STAFF ARE FRIENDLY, COURTEOUS AND HELPFUL. THE ROOMS ARE SMALL, BUT HAVE EVERYTHING NECESSARY FOR A STAY OF A FEW NIGHTS. THE NOISE FROM THE LIFT AND OTHER ROOM DOORS BEING CLOSED IS AN INDICATION THAT THE ROOM WALLS ARE RATHER THIN. THE BREAKFAST IS MINIMAL.

We asked to get a twin bed room, and not at the ground floor. We then got an excellent room with a separate bath, and the best of all: at the top of Paris, with a view to the skyline of some part of Paris! The Montmartre were only 10 min walk away. The personel in the reception through our 4 days were very pleasant, with one exception. It was a good thing not to pay for the breakfast, because we got better off with coffee and bread in the lokal bakery, but had to eat standing. There is even several bars and restaurants in the street. Father and son (24) from Norway were very satisfied with this 2-star hotel, and even the lift functioned very well. I have been to Paris at least a dozen times.

Very easy access to metro. Simple & basic, you get what you pay for. A couple of good cafe/pubs near including one that serves good quality food till about 2330hrs!

The room was cozy and the fact that the toilet was seperate was a great advantage, it was well heated and we could relax after coming from the cold outside. The highlight was the warm and friendly way we were welcomed in our hotel. We really felt at home. I am sure that we would have liked to eat something in the evenings but I think that it is a question of space. We found nice restaurants nearby. I will highly recommend the hotel and will return myself.

Nice hotel, tiny rooms but clean and tidy, no need for more, quiet and calm. Well located, just a few blocks from metro station, and perfect to walk around monmartre, to look for restaurants and some pubs. No problems at all.

Quiet place to stay, very close to Sacre Coeur and Montmartre. Nice staff, in-room breakfest service. The only bad point: The bath room was a little bit smelly, it was clean but seemed to be in need of renovation. The sourroundings are ok, some restaurants and shops. Best for business travelers, couples and families; young people might find other places more exciting.

New Zealand, Jul 2007
Good location, plenty of OK eating places nearby and a ten minute walk up to Montmartre. Slightly off the tourist route is a plus, quite a few French students in area. Paris is expensive and this was reasonable value. Reception Ok though little info on hand. Problem with noise - from corridor, from rooms next door and above and from street. Rooms at back certainly quieter, and would suggest ear plugs. If you have quiet neighbours and room at back, you will have a good sleep. Check out the Vietnamese about 200m up on the left for really nice food and a very modest price - albeit modest price. Good family restaurant across the road and up the hill a little, on the corner - South American food and nice people. Have children with you - check out the swim centre Aqua Bouelvard in South Paris (easy metro ride)

Good Hotel, fair price/quality relation. Excellent location to walk around. The bus connection recommended on the hotel webpage was good, correct, and in total we paid for two person one way 19 Euro for the two busses. From the parallel street you can see the Eiffel tower, and walking distance to Montmartre is ca. 10 Min. Very nice private houses in the area of the hotel and a small nice theatre. We will defenitely go again, or another good choice is Tim Hotel Montmartre.

The hotel is basically fine BUT being in room 17 meant we were above the entrance and autoatic doors. You could hear the motor very clearly in the room and people coming in and out in the small hours. This didn't bother my girlfriend but it did me. Pity as basically, the hotel is in a great location, the beds are comfortable, the rooms clean and the staff very friendly. Perhaps if you could get a room on floor 2 or above it would be much better (there is a lift, and six floors). Sound proofing between rooms is good however. You might even find that a room away from the top of the stairs and the doors would be completely fine. Bit of a debate as to whether we would return.

The hotel provided superb instructions for both train + bus from the airport. I mentioned early arrival - the room was available on check in at 8am. (This was because the hotel was not full the night before arrival.) I practiced my French, & when I ran out of French the staff explained in clear English. The hotel is 1 stop further from Monmartre main tourist area. Local restaurants for locals so fair price. Two or three supermarkets nearby for supplies. I ate outside hotel or in my room with picnics from supermarkets. I bought small 1cup waterheater for cups of tea from hardware merchant down road from hotel! Hotel room clean & neat. Not for a romantic weekend to impress a girlfriend. But, fabulously practical, central 150m from train station!! I would definitely stay here again! I wanted a good bed & good shower & quiet sleep as a base for my walks/travels round Paris. This was perfect for me. There seemed to be some of French businesspeople staying here for a day or so. I am a single independent traveller.

Venere had bungled up my orders, it seems that they're buggy if you have two reservations on one email-address at one hotel. But the people at the hotel fixed things smoothly and neatly even if we arrived very late. Clean, ok standard, got what we paid for. Kindof few electrical outlets in the room though if you need such (we did, but used a "multiplug" so we got all our gizmos working)

We wre welcomed by a friendly person who answersed all our questions. The location was only 100 meters away from the metrostation, from where we discovered Paris very easily. If we stay another time in Paris, Hotel de Flore will be on our list of possible hotels.

The hotel is well located (near MontMartre), the rooms look like the typical parisian ones and the employees are gentle and welcoming. The bathroom is very clean, although small. On the minus side, the rooms are small (yep, parisian hotel), and when arriving in ours there was a smell of damp carpet, which disappeared after we opened the window. There were also ancient traces of humidity in the wardrobe (but we didn't use it). My friend also found some long hair (we both have short hair) in the bed, which displeased her.

It was not made clear that the booking did not include breakfast, so it was very difficult to make a fair comparison with other similar hotels whose prices did include breakfast. This made the cost of the hotel considerably more than expected.

We were very happy with our stay at the hotel. It was located down the street from the Metro stop in Lamark and very easy to find. The room (a double with shower) was small but clean and the staff was friendly and english speaking. The room was at the back of the hotel and fairly quiet. We didn't have breakfast or use any other service at the hotel. We can recomend the hotel if you want a clean budget hotel in Paris.

The main gripe with this place was that we were on a floor populated with early-20s party people, who spent much of the night trying to gain entry to each other's rooms for reasons one can guess. The walls were paper-thin. Otherwise, the hotel was fine - fairly typical of Paris hotels in this price range. Very good for Metro and Sacre Coeur.

You get what you pay for. Very basic, tiny rooms which had a foul odour, possibly because the wc is in a separate tiny room with no ventilation whatsoever. Triple room is not three single beds. Its a double and single. Hotel would not change room for us or provide a pull out bed. Most unhelpful. In fact they made us pay before we went to the room. They knew we would not be happy. Never stay here gain. Ibis hotel just down road, much better for the same money and in a much better location.

Good location, near Metro. Friendly staff. Very clean. Good sized room (triple) although we saw a double room which was the usual tiny Parisian room.No noise from other rooms but it was so warm we slept with the windows open - street noise was deafening. We bought earplugs. In future would ask for a room at the back - the guests with rooms at the back slept like babies. Would definitely go back. Good value.

Basic hotel offering good clean accomodation. Easily accessed from the main motorway into Paris from the north. Parking is a bit of a nightmare if you chose to leave the car on the street I would thoroughly recomend the use of a nearby secure parking facility this can be found on the map shown on the hotels web site cost is around 14.5 euros per 24 hours. Hotel is well located for the Metro with a station at either end of the road. Stad de France is about a 8 minute train ride away and you can be in central Paris in 15 minutes. We used that hotel as a base to watch the England vs France rugby match and it suited us fine. For those of you who fancy a late night drink I can recomend a local bar that is located near by. In order to find the bar, turn left out of the hotel and walk up the road as far as the metro station (opposite side of the road) instead of entering the metro climb the steps above the station and turn right at the top, the bar can be found about 75 metres along this road on the right hand side. It is very traditionaly french and very friendly. Easily located by the Stella Artois sign out side. Overall I would say that the Hotel offers good value for money accomodation, as a side note the breakfast is continental and costs 7 euros per person.
