THIS IS NEVER A 4**** HOTEL. NEVER! EXPECT A 2**HOTEL AT A GREAT LOCATION. HORRIBLE ROOM! When I prompted the hotel clerk why this was a 4**** Hotel, he himself said he didn't know why it was advertised like that. Location was ok, tough. Room was ok, since we received a very low price + special deal. but you shouldn't go there + pay the full price. Never.

We chose this hotel for its advertised disabled access and wifi access. Both are a misrepresentation. There is no access for a person in a wheelchair and we were told of the wifi--" sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't." the staff was not at all concerned about our problems.

Good location, famous places are in walking distance, as well as the underground. Hotel is good enough, but not modern. Part of the rooms are renovated, but the lobby, other public places and the elevator also need to be renovated. In general: I recommend staying in this hotel.

I enjoyed our stay at Hotel De Castiglione. Our room was bigger than I expected. Very clean. The location was wonderful. We were in walking distance of the best shopping, museums, historical area, and dining.

Surprisingly large rooms for a Parisian hotel. Very comfortable, and a terrific price when we booked (nearly half the full price). Location is good, though you certainly can't shop on the street unless you're a billionaire. Street noise was a bit noticable to the front, but they had excellent electronic shutters on the windows which really blocked out the light. A good spot, certainly at the price we got it. If we could get that price again, we'd certainly come back.

My cousin and I had a fabulous time visiting Paris for a few days. I live in Orleans now and she came to visit and see the sights of Paris. This hotel was well situated and easy to access the subway or walk to the Louvre or Musee D'Orsay. Very nice hotel and very nice people at the desk.

The very helpfull staff made our stay first class, gave us advise as to the surroundings of paris and made us very welcome.the hotel was clean and presentable just in need of a slight redecor to keep this hotel a 4 star and keep its status, recieved the top floor over looking the eiffel tower as requested, hotel in a very prime position for all the main attractions of paris only 2 minutes from the champs elysees.

We really enjoyed our stay. We had spacious and clean rooms. The employees were helpful and Polite. The hotel was situated in the heart of Paris, in a very exclusive aerea. The only thing we missed was a shop nearby where we could buy some food.

Traveled with husband and adult daughter (25) the triple was a bit small but clean and quiet the location could NOT be better!!! staff was very helpful and friendly breakfast was an additional 20 euros per person!!!! (not worth it) although very nice, if it is included in the price of the room better to go out and have breakfast in the city

Found the location of the hotel excellent. I have stayed in some of the nicest hotels in the world. Every single one of them, once you went into your room you had peace and quiet. I have never experienced noise coming from other rooms so loud in any hotel previously. Also every time someone in a room above took a shower or flushed the toilet you could hear the water running down the pipes which were situated in the walls. Even people walking the noise was so loud it was uncomfortable and annoying. Would never stay at that hotel again.

When we arrived in the hotel at 8:00pm, the lady in the front desk was awful and unhelpful at all. However, the gentlemen in the front desk were really nice and helpful in the morning. What a big difference this was! The room was terrible with very old grandma style furnitures, while the both room, in particular the shower was tiny. I don't understand how someone can design this type of bathroom. The hotel shouldn't be ranked as 4 star.

Hotel has a great location, a block away from St.Honore & P.Vendome. As I was leaving the hotel, I peeked into another room, which apparently had been renovated, so pls ask this in advance. We did not get a renovated room & for the price we were paying I was surprised to see such a poor quality room (it was a superior double room). Paint was peeling off the doors & ceiling; furniture was older than that of my grandmother & the beds were extremely soft, almost hammock-like. We asked for a baby crib in our room & it was there, but in the evening when we arrived, they hadn't placed any sheets to it, so we had to get housekeeping to do this at 11pm. Bathroom was small, when you showered, you would get everything wet in the bathroom. Lobby area was also very dark & small - terrible 'castle like' decor. You are definitely paying for the location of the hotel. I would not go back, prefer to look for a nicer boutique hotel for a very similar price.

One of the worse Hotels I have ever stayed in. Rooms were of poor standard and filthy. Originally booked for 6 days - left after 3 (only because we couldn't find another hotel). Four star rating because of the highlighted amenities but in reality one star standards. Good Location but this doesn't make up for the poor state of the hotel.

Hotel staff was very helpful. Location is great. A little pricey. Rooms are quiet and comfortable and air conditioned which is good in summer. Park at nearby public parking lots was good but cost 25 euros per day. Will stay there again and would recommend.

The position of the hotel was great. We booked a superior room which was delightful with a terrace that must be lovely when the weather is good. The bar was not particularly inviting and we did not have breafast in the hotel as the room was very crowded and too busy for us. The public areas were not special, but since we were out and about most of the time this did not matter to us. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful.

During fashion fairs prices increase! So the relationship price/quality was not excellent! I have booked a deluxe room, because on the web they were looking quite modern (design), but the room was more or less normal! Bathroom and seperate toilet were very clean and quite spacious.

Ny Mother, Sister and mysel spent 2 days at the De astiglione May bank holiday. We requested a triple room and on arrival were allocated a junior suite on the 8th floor. The room and bathroom were very spacious with an excellent view of the Eiffel tower and city from our bacony. The location of the hotel was excellent. On the 2nd morning we had breakfast in the hotel and found it to be very good value for money and a good variety foods offered. Overall we had an excellent stay at the hotel. My partner and myself will be back sometime soon, I will requiet a room on one of the top floors for that fantastic view and will be disappointed if I did not get one.

The first look showed clean and spacious area. Some staff were friendly and helpful. At the bar/restaurant we ordered a Champaign bottle for €65. We had only oily crisps; no nuts or even olives. More expensive hotels would provide extras with the Champaign and at lower prices. The Internet service was not available and after calling for technical help a French speaking porter came and by sign language explained how to operate it. Still it did not work. It was added to the bill and I had to explain that I had not used the Internet because the pointer was jumping from one corner to the other. From what I managed to see it looked a closed Internet system with no browser. The staff took it as a matter of fact as if he had heard it before and took the Internet fee from the bill. The washing basin plug was stuck closed I had to pull it out to release the water.

Room was more spacious than the usual walk-in closets you tend to get in Paris, however: (4 ****) seems a bit excessive for a hotel that really warrants a (3 ***) rating. Drawback was the (clean) bathroom: yetsome defective lights, no hair-dryer). Furniture was rather old and dingy and did not correspond to the pictures displayed on the website.

Overall this hotel was mediocre at best. The pictures on the web of the rooms bear no resemblance whatsoever to the actual appearance of the room that we stayed in.The pictures show modern style decor, and our room looked like it had not been redecorated since the 80's.It also smelled quite musty. The attitude of the staff was unexceptional.I would not stay in this hotel again as it did not live up to it's 4-star rating.

The first thing to say is that the hotel is definitely a three star hotel. My staying there didn’t start as I expected. I had booked a room with double bed but when I get there they gave me a room in the first floor with two singles, no air-condition operational, in the bathroom the most things were broken and the worst thing I found about 5 needles on the carpet!!! When I went to the reception to complain a very rude receptionist told me that they cannot do anything about it before next morning. Next morning at least they changed the room. We stayed there 5 days and the room was cleaned only two times and once the cleaning lady came at 17:00 even though we were not in the hotel all morning. The breakfast was not included in the price of the room and the cost was 16 euros per person. I don’t recommend this hotel to anyone.

The rooms were not cleaned until we complained about it. One of the rooms needed desparately refurbishing - very poor, almost unacceptabel, Breakfast was low standard. However, majority of front desk employees was very serviceminded and eager to accomodate us, hence one of us is fluent in french. Overall discontent because this is not a four star hotel as indicated on the web-side, hardly a two star hotel, but with an excellent location.

Quality to price relationship is relative due to the fact the hotel is in Paris and prices are high specially if looking for good hotel. The Castiglione best feature is its location but it is also the only thing you can say about it. Clasiffied as 4 starts but basically is not more than 3

We rented the Junior Suite. If you want to enjoy Paris around the sights of the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, etc, then this is the place. Location was excellent. The underground was convenient. We had a great view of the Eifle Tower. The rooms were comfortable with plenty of space. The continental breakfast was wonderful. The hotel is located amid high end retail with neighbors like Dior, YSL, Gucci, Prada (Great for Window Shopping). It is very convenient to the Metro Station at Madelline (5 short blocks). We have already recommended this hotel to friends. There is no Concierge service, but the location, breakfast, view and friendliness of the staff more than compensated for that. I am not certain that O got the best value that I could have when staying in January and booking through Venere, because I paid around $125 per night for a double, and some at the hotel were only paying 75 Euros (less than $100). Great Hotel

Although we booked a double deluxe the room was small and the claimed terrace was through the window next to the air conditioning pipe looking at the wall opposite. The restaurant was lifeless but the food was good and reasonably priced. The public areas were just a corridor with furniture. There was no actual lounge as such. The staff were all friendly and knew what they were doing. If I'd been told three star I'd be satisfied but four star no way.

My experience was truly unique. When I arrived I was informed the room I had booked was not available and was upgraded to a much larger room than I expected. I am not sure what the actual room might have been like, but the upgrade room exceeded my expectations. The hotel was right in the fashion district with easy access to much of Paris. The breakfast was excellent. I highly recommend this hotel.

I had a terrible experience at this hotel. My room was extremely noisy. I had someone in the room above in the bath for over 2 hours - water on, water off, drain the tub again and agin (from midnight to 2 AM). When I asked for assistance from the night manager, I got, none, was yelled at and called a variety of unpleasant names in multiple languages and was told that I was "in the city not the country, so I should put up with the noise." I was moved the next day to another room, (although the day staff didn't want to hear about my encounter with the night staff) with a beautiful view and a balcony and no air conditioning, so again was unable to sleep since the heat was on and my room temperature was over 80 degrees. I couldn't wait to check out. Other guests checking out at the same time had their luggage (with bellman) trapped in the service elevator and were told they couldn't leave for the airport until the elevator company arrived to extract their luggage. The staff was quite rude to them, and made no offers to help sort out the luggage so that they could leave.

We found 'Di Castiglione' ideally situated, just a few minutes from the Place de la Concorde surrounded by a host of expensive designer shops. The room rates at the entrance stated 290 Euros per night for a standard double. We had booked late through venere.com and were quoted 140 Euros per night. When we saw the plush reception we thought there had been some mistake! However, no mistake had been made and at the end of our stay we were charged the bargain rate of 140 Euros per night. The room was clean and spacious enough and the well designed bathroom was about the same size!! Breakfast was the continental standard but with the addition of a selection of cheeses and cold meats. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel and felt we got real value for money. The only negative was that all the other guests were so impecably dressed at all times that it made us feel slightly uncomfortable, especially at breakfast!

Over priced for what was provided - a small, stark oddly shaped room, right next to some very loud renovations, that started very early each morning. The noise wasn't the hotel's fault, of course, but the staff didn't seem to care about the inconvenience. The location was good, though.
