I took this hotel on the basis of other comments on the site, and after my weekend stay I can only confirm this. Clean rooms, a bit small but this is Paris, friendly service, easy locatio, simple and good restaurants nearby, excellent price-quality ratio for Paris.

This Hotel is not a 5 star hotel, so don't go with that expectation. The room was adequate for our week in Paris. Transportation on the metro was effortless. The hotel staff spoke enough English (some more than others) but all were eager to help. The neighborhood is wonderful. There are many "Kabob" fast food restaurants around this hotel and throughout Paris. They are cheap and amazingly wonderful. There was a fantastic outdoor market on Sunday with the freshest food imaginable..about 2 blocks away from the hotel. Would certainly stay again.

We thought Hotel Crimee was good value for money in a very expensive city. While it is some way from the major tourist sites, the Metro is really close and easy to use. It had a working elevator - a big bonus in an older, narrow, multi-level building for travellers with baggage! The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms in the hotel were on the small side, but that is usually the case in smaller hotels in large cities abroad. (Rooms in European homes are generally smaller than those in the US anyway.) We did not agree with other reviewers' comments about the neighborhood: it was lively, friendly and safe.

We went to Paris for business and pleasure. Our business was at the Parc de Villette which is a quick 15 minute, two trains journey from the hotel. Metro is about 90 seconds from the door. Plenty of places to eat and the Monoprix store is right at the Metro entrance, great for groceries and left at home necessities. The crepe station, next door, is the BEST in the city! Huge portions and the prices are great! Kabab/Halal restaurant across the street is great for take-away. The city is about 20 minutes by Metro, with a transfer or two. The Louvre is a one train journey for about 20 minutes. The hotel and use of the Metro fit our budget and suited us just fine, we saw all that we wanted and more. Our stay was 5 days and was perfect. Easy access by Metro to CDG. Hotel staff is great, room is European quaint, enough room for two, a third would be tight. Ample bathroom space, modern shower head with a lot of pressure. When we come back, we will definitely stay at Hotel Crimee. Old school doors, but you get use to it. Air conditioning could be colder, but the windows worked just as fine, not a lot of traffic outside. Rooms are clean, nothing fancy. We were only there for shower, sleeping and storage of our stuff. You want foo-foo, you can pay more in the city. Flat screen TV, all stations are in French. Beds were firm, but we were too tired to care.

It's the best solution to visit Paris in a 3-4-5 days trip. A little (very little) room, metro is 50 mt far, you can arrive to center of paris in 15 minuts and to the city of science in 10 minuts.

Fortunately my room was overlooking a small coutyard. Unfortunately it was on the ground floor and therefore as said in another comment, you could hear at times people checking-in at the reception desk. In addition there were works in process or something similar somewhere close. It was like somebody was moving furnitures until late at night! Otherwise fine...

Very good budget hotel. Room and en suite bathroom very clean. Comfortable bed, clean white cotton sheets, plenty of hot water, good heating when needed ,double glazing kept noise out from busy street outside. Staff friendly and helpful. No problem leaving luggage all day until we were ready to catch our late night flight. Located in bustling, cosmopolitan quarter with plenty of reasonably priced places to eat and drink. Very cheap Boulangerie over the road where it was possible to buy a freshly filled baguette, any dessert( the honey and raisin crepe I had was huge and delicious ) and a drink for 5.50 Euros.Hotel is close to the metro.I liked the breakfast because the croissant, bread, jams/honey etc came with a big steaming jug of strong black coffee which is exactly what I require to start my day. My only complaint would be that the shower had to be hand held because the attachment to the upright to hold it in place was broken . This did not detract from our stay and overall the hotel was very good value , and we would definitely stay again.

The room was quite small but that did not matter as we didn't spend much time in it. What was important was that it was clean ad the beds comfortable. The air conditioning didn't seem to do much but as we had an off-street room openinf the window did the trick although an extractor fan in the bathroom might have been useful. Staff were helpful and informative. Breakfast was a typical French one - baguettes, croissants, coffee or chocolate - and was good in quality and quantity. The location was excellent - very close to the Metro and, as others have mentioned, the patisseries almost opposite was excellent and we made full use of it. Also convenient was the local monoprix and bank cashpoint, while the curry/galette restaurant next door but one was good value, friendly and open late.

The hotel is located 2 minutes from Crimee Metrostation with route downtown, excellent! The aircondition didn't work, so our stay was very hot. But the staff at the hotel was very nice and polite and did everything to help. I recommend a room away from street, the streets were very active at night, especially ambulances and policecars.

Excellent value compact basic accomodation slightly off the beaten track, but only 10-15 minute journey to the centre and all the tourist attractions from the nearby metro stop. Top floor rooms at the back of the building quiet. Good breakfasts with excellent bread. Rooms and communal area quite small and basic, but this reflects the price range. It's worth looking round the area by the hotel, where you can get a flavour of the city outside the usual tourist circuit, and appreciate the different cultures that make up today's Paris. Interesting range of reasonable places to eat, and shops, including a small late night supermarket opposite and larger, very cheap supermarket down the road. Also velib bike rack by the metro, a very useful recent addition to the Paris transport system, and suprisingly easy to use (see velib.paris.fr for more details.) Overall, a good value base for the budget tourist who doesn't plan to spend most of their time at their hotel, with charming and helpful staff.

You can not beat the price. The hotel is kind of out of the way from anything you would want to do, but worth it for the price. Clean hotel. If you just need a room to sleep in because you will be out in Central Paris all day/night... this is the one for you. I traveled as a group of 3. Triple rooms are the size of what you would expect a double room to occupy... regardless, all of this is compensated by the low price.

The two of us were extremely pleased with the Hotel Crimee. The location is about a dozen metro stops from Notre Dame, but the low price made up for the inconvenience of being somewhat far from the center of the city. The hotel staff were extremely friendly, and accommdating. The room, while not large, was perfectly adequate, and so was the bathroom. Housekeeping was excellent. Would definitely stay here again.

Excellent small hotel situated close to the Paris Metro. We stayed for four nights and found the hotel staff very helpful. Large supermarket just around the corner near the entrance to the Metro, lots of small mini markets located nearby and open to very late. We found the Metro very safe to use even late at night. Would recommend this hotel for couples but not for small children will stay here again when we next return to Paris.

The room was a little small for 3 of us (including my 86 yr old mother) but the hotel was well located for local resturants and is in the northeast section of Paris. The metro is a 3 minute walk and gets you to central Paris in about 10 minutes. Best buy for using the metro is the cartel tickets. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is out of the tourist area and has a lot of local different ethic type resturants around it. The elevator can only hold 3 people without luggage (2 with). Breakfast was not included but was good for 6 euro (about $8.00). We were there for 4 nights and would stay here again.

The room and bathroom were very clean, quiet and practical. The room was small, but that is to be expected in Paris. I was overall very pleased with the hotel, except for one very important factor. The hotel is advertised as having individual air-conditioning in all rooms. They fail to note that the air-conditioning is only available to be turned on during certain times of the year. This should be stated. We went to Paris for medical reasons. My daughter has scoliosis and has to wear a fiberglass brace at night, which really holds in her body heat. I picked this hotel because it advertised that the rooms had individual air-conditioning. After spending all day at the hospital and coming back to the room after having dinner, we could not get the air-conditioning to come on. The desk clerk did not seem concerned at all about my daughter's condition. He just said that he could not do anything about it then, but could make a phone call in the morning and maybe have it turned on for the next night. Since we were only staying one night, this did not help at all. We stayed on April 23, which normally is very cool in Paris. On this night, we had the windows open and no blankets. Luckly we had a fan, which we always take with us to circulate the air for my daughter. In the future, I will know to inquire of all hotels who advertise that they have air-conditioning.

We really liked this place, it was a short cab ride from the airport. Once we got there the metra was around the corner with easy access to main Paris. The staff was very helpful and spoke english. We would definately stay there again!

The staff was friendly, helpful, and professional. The room, though old, was furnished comfortably. I liked the bed. The bathroom had a bathtub, which was very nice. I only have 2 less-than-good comments: There is no hot water after late morning so evening bathers must use tepid to cold water, and management insists clients leave their keys at the front desk when they leave. Nobody ever asked for ID to confirm my identity when I asked for my key, which tells me that they could have given it to anyone asking for it by room number. Once they gave me the key to the wrong room. This made me somewhat nervous, especially as the rooms have signs stating that the hotel was not responsible for any item not left with the desk.

The receptionist, Kristophe, was simply quite outstanding with helpful ideas and information and spoke excellent English. The location was ideal with a metro station literally minutes away. Supermarket type shops which stock everything from socks to baguettes are a few minutes walk around the corner and all the main attractions (Eiffel Tower, Arch de Triomphe etc.) are easily accessible through the Metro which runs every few minutes and is very easy to follow.

A very nice place to stay, the rooms are all standard and can be quite small if u book a triple room as I did. However, what impressed me was the size of the bathroom and you will be amazed how clean and white it is. Besides the crimee metro station is just around the corner, which i think makes a whole lot easier for commuting to visit the entire city of paris. And the price is cheaper compared to other hotels as well. Plus it is air-conditioned which is handy during summer time in paris.I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Our stay at the Crimee hotel was great. The room was small but nice & clean. The managers of the hotel were very helpful. The only thing I could have asked for was for more to be included in the breakfast.

I enjoyed my stay a lot, because the hotel is easy to find, very clean and not expensive. It is directly reachable by the Metro which is an additional "plus". I would recommend this hotel to all my friends!!!

I am not satisfied with the managment of the hotel: - the managment wrote me only in french(what I don't speek)in the reservation-confirmation that I have to spend the first night in a hotel nearby because they where overbooked. - In this other hotel my expensive nightdress got stolen and I got no refund for that. Be careful!

Great hotel, nothing fancy, but everything you need. Friendly and very helpful staff. Right by the Metro station and right across from an EXCELLENT Vienamese restaurant (try the Pho soup!!!)!
