Clean and near the metro station. But the room is SMALL, and no internet. Anyway, it's OK for single person if you only need a bed in Paris.

Near metro station. Clean and beautiful rooms (just as new) with power shower and mini-bar; friendly and helpful staff. Nearby macdonalds, markets and pharmacy. 24-hour reception, free internet access. We will definetly come back to this hotel.

The location is quite convenient. The elevator is very small and if someone on aother floor forgets to close the door, you are unable to get the lift and have to go up or downstairs. The bathroom is done the way that despite a curtain when you shower, all the water poors on the floor and goes underneath the door to the room. So after every shower you have a very wet floor in the room. Our room was unexpectedly spacious.

Tried to get an iron 2 days, none found, and no ironing board avail. either. Room needs a mirror in case toilet is occupied. Toilet lid/seat would not stay open for male to use. Reception was very pleasant and tried to be helpful. Computer was available but not working so used internet shop nearby. Returned to room one morning to find door wide open and maid cleaning next room. Anyone could have walked in and helped themselves to our things. Stayed 4 nights.

Very low price and correct quality. A little bit noisy but very near of the metro station. It was good that Venere just give the credit card number for booking but we paid with "Traveler cheque" (chèques vacances) with a very good discount!

We had a lot of fun in Charma - at first we couldn't understand the way of communication (with some strange moments - price of coffee depends of person in reception; everybody was asking where are we from many times etc.)but finally all small problems were solved. Hotel is clean, not very central location, but you can feel life of Parisians not just see thousands of tourists. Will come back next time.

Brilliant location, Main Line Metro station 200 yards ensures its easy to get about. Earlier reviewer said it was a bit of a shady area!!! Don't agree with this at all, we dined at the Restaurant on the corner of the street and sat out till 2am watching the world go by, Good food and More thean friendly staff. Hotel is basic yes, but for the price it is clean, quiet and efficiently run. Recommended and would definately stay again.

First time in Paris and with my partner feeling extremely sick we asked if we could have an early check in. Something I rarely do out of politeness. Even explaining that my partner really needed somewhere to rest as soon as possible, and having seen a range of double rooms free and cleaned, they refused us check in untill precisely 12:00. So a bad welcome. Of course none of the photos related to the hotel except maybe the bathroom, it was very noisy, you could everything happening everywhere, cramped and the basketball court out the back was a special addition to our mornings. The room was also very cold the french only TV channels had poor reception and the wifi basically didnt work. So all in all a terrible, overpriced, hotel experiance at the Charma. We dont recomend it to anyone for the money they are asking.

Small room, tiny bathroom, but both clean and tidy. And they've got an elevator! The room smelled paint after a recent refurbishment, but this is probably temporary. Quiet street, but you can hear traffic from the adjacent street during rush hour when the window is cracked open. Receptionists spoke English and were nice and helpful. There's a typical café near the entrance and a Tabac kiosk on the next street. It was no problem finding a parking spot. All in all, good value for money. This is not a 4 or 5 star hotel, and is not rated as such, but it's good value for money.

This is the worst Paris hotel I hae stayedin. Don't take a cat- you couldn't swing it. Tiny dirty rooms, badly decorated. Not even a one star I wouldn't think. Shower space so small you had to sit with feet in the shower tray when using toilet. no toilet paper. not enough towels for two, no soap holder in shower at all. thoroughly depressing atmosphere. and not cheap! Never again.

The hotel was under renovation so the ground floor looked wonderful, but our room was horrible. The bed was broken in the middle, so our backs hurt in the morning. The communal shower had mold and the bathroom left something to be wanted. The hotel is close to a metro stop, but is rather far from any attractions. Also, trying to find the metro stop to get off at was difficult at first because you don't get off at the metro stop with their street name, because that stops at the opposite end of the street.

That was a nice stay, room was clean, only there were some troubles with the toilete. Price was rather high - breakfast was not included. The hotel was undergoing renovations while we were there (and will be for some time, I imagine). They had worked their way up to the 4th floor, but unfortunately we stayed on the 5th. The floors that have been renovated thus far are really very nice. The floors that are awaiting renovation are just fine, especially if all you plan to do in the hotel is sleep and bathe. Good value for the money. Great breakfast.

I was in Paris for vacation... this place was very small the rooms were so tiny you could barely walk around the bed. The showers were pretty gross too and an entire floor shared one toilet and you had to go to a different floor to shower. If you were on the top floor it would be pretty rough as the elevator was busted... but atleast there was an elevator. This hotel was also in a pretty rough neighborhood. If you are in Paris alone, don't stay here as it is shady in broad daylight. It's really close to the metro station, which is nice. You get what you pay for in a super expensive city!

The most valuable aspect of this hotel is that it is located less than a minute away from a Metro station that is served with the best line for tourist i.e. all major destination can be reached by hopping on the same metro line. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and welcoming. Even if the staff did not know much english, they tried very hard successfully to take care of our issues. We found the hotel to be clean from the lobby to the hotel room, stair case, toilets, etc. Hotel room was rather small but it is big enough of tourists. If you plan on staying in the room for quite a few days (by staying I really mean staying in the room) then you should look else where. If the purpose your stay is anything besides staying in the room then you will not even notice the size of the room. The street where hotel is located is not very busy but it is clean and safe. McDonalds and some other local restaurants, bars, convenient stores are less than five minutes away from the hotel. Over all it was a great experience and I would go back to the hotel whenever I am visiting Paris.

A week ago I stayed in Charma 3 nights and I'm totally satisfied with the services offered. First of all,the hotel's location is very close to metro station,1 line-with the direct access to Louvre and other central places. In the hotel's neighbourhood you can find Ed super market,a pizza house and many small restaurants. The stuff in the hotel was very friendly to me and they spoke English rather well. My room was newly-renovated,clean,rather spacious and exactly what I expected. I'd stay again in this hotel with pleasure!

Having been to Paris many times I always try to stay in a new arrondissement to get the feeling of different places in this big city. For first time travellers the Porte de Vincennes is a little bit far away from everything with a true banlieue atmosphere. On the pro side: A nice and quiet basic hotel with very friendly staff, free internet access, spacious rooms and, as in my case, an always CLEAN common shower and WC on the same floor, even with a fully booked hotel. The metro no.1 only five minutes away was added value (station under construction, a bit scary at night). And - not to forget - at the street corner you could relax in a nice cafe with very good lunch offers (closed on sundays). The room price, for Paris, was low. Result: I would like to come back to this hotel.

The hotel staff was friendly and nice. The room was sufficient for me--there was a bed, closet, desk and a face basin. There weren't any showers on my floor. The toilet is just that---a very small room with a toilet which I thought was fine. The metro is 1 minutes walk away from the hotel. The website did not advertise storage but they will store your luggage if you ask. The only problem (and that is if you are a light sleeper), you will hear when the people above you are moving around as the floors squeak.

This was an excellent hotel-- the employees were very nice and helpful, the room and shared toilet and shower were extremely clean, and the hotel was close to a metro stop so it was easy to get into central Paris to see the sites. Hotel Charme is a nice little hotel with a good location near a Metro station close to the centre. The staff and the service was quite alright. Our room was rather small and the bathroom wasn’t too clean. The price was reasonable but the breakfast wasn’t included. As we were tourists in Paris and stayed just for a couple of days, it was ideal for us. (At the corner there is a small but very special kebab restaurant. We recommend it to everyone!)

Hotel Charma is a nice hotel situated in a quiet part of Paris. It's not far (1 min) from the metro stop (Porte De Vincennes - Line 1). The staff is qualifid, available 24 h and nice. Maybe the breakfast isn't special cos you have no so much choise, just a croissant and bread with butter and marmelade. The hall is a little bit small and the elevetor is the oldest i have ever seen :-) but it works well. the rooms are really beautiful and clean maybe a little small. the bathroom is also small but nice.generally rooms are renewed. The hotel also provides maps of paris, deplyant about a lot of places like muline rouge or hard rock cafè etc. However the price is sure cheaper than other worst hotel.

On arrival we were advised that there was plumbing problems so we would not have an en suite for the first night. That was fine as the room we were then in had just been renovated. The cleanliness and quality of the room was terrific. Indeed the location was in a lovely area which helped make our stay all the more enjoyable. The only drawback was that there was renovation to the rooms while we stayed and the noise bad at times. In fact the noise even from other rooms was quite loud at times. The staff were really helpful and willing to help with any queries we had. Overall though we thoroughly enjoyed staying at this hotel and would recommend it to others.

The hotel is undergoing a refurbishment, the new rooms are excellent, the old rooms are awful. The shower facility in the shared bathroom rooms is awful too. The new rooms are very good, small but clean and fresh. The garden is not pretty but the breakfast area is new and nice, breakfast is coffee, juice, bread and jam only, but at only 5 Euro its not bad. The staff are lovely, very helpful and very courteous. Access to Paris is quick and easy although the Vincennes district is not pretty. Overall, if you get a new room it is excellent value for money for Paris.

The Hotel Was actually better quality, than we had expected of a one star hotel. But they were rebuilding the hotel on a very large scale while we wore there. Walls were build, doors put in and painters were allover. And taking into consideration the low quietness of the rooms, this was not optimal. On the other hand we had a very nice(however small) room, it seemed we were the first to stay in. And when the rebuilding is done I would recommend it to anyone.

Very reasonably priced rooms for paris. I guess you get what you pay for. The room was very basic and the carpets were pretty gross. The bed cover was very very old. However i accepted that for the price of 40e for 2 people per night. The location was great right next to the metro. Would I stay here again? I would be looking for something else first but if I had to I would.

Overall the room was good, with a TV, clean bed and a wash basin. Toilets and bothroom are common & small. There is a single 1960's style lift, which can accomodate only single person with light luggage. Luckily the lift worked for 3 nights I stayed in Paris, otherwise it's a hell to climb the steep stairs. The hotel is about 50 mts from Porte de Vincennes metro station. However the locals are either unaware of the road leading to the hotel or hostile to non French. I had tough time locating the hotel. The hotel is across the road and there is a pub & pizza shop at the corner of the road, easy landmarks. The room is quite and safe to return even late at night. Although you have a TV, the reception isn't good and the channels are in French. Inspite of these I would recommend this hotel and would like stay here when I go to Paris.

First night no room available, we went to an other hotel; this room was not clean and uncomfortable. The bed was so hard we hardly slept. Second night we got a room without toilet and shower. Third night we got another room, however with a double bed in stead of two separate beds. Personnel was kind and polite and we paid less. Next time I will try another hotel. Since this is the cheapest room that i could find in Paris, I would say that if you want to go to Paris and looking for a room to sleep, this does the job good enough
