We were in the area for a week and found the service excellent considering the price. The hotel is located a few minutes walk from the no1 metro line. The hotel was spotless even though there was refurbishments that were atking place at the time. Reception staff were more then helpful with directions and various other bits. Cleaners did come in while we were sleeping on the day of check out. . . .

The hotel was fantastic, in reception were so nices with us and very good working. The quality of the cleaning inside the rooms are completely POOR. The cleaning woman always disturbs us entering in our room with her key without calling before at 9 a.m., doesnt matter if we are dress on or not. A lot of times I need to discuss with her and trying to explaining that is not a good behaviour but, never change it. For the rest, our days in the hotel were unforgettable.

first, it not very close from La Defense. Walking in the surroundings of La Defense is difficult because there are different levels (and although i leaved for 8 years around Paris i felt really kind of lost). I thank my GPS for having guiding us... Now the hotel is too much expensive compared to other hotels. The room was very very tiny, some lights were not functionning (one was even broken). It was very hot so we wanted to open the windows during the night. What a bad idea ! We were just near a train line. Just impossible to sleep with windows opened. Also, although the room was soundproof, we could hear the people in the hall just like if they were in our own room. Thx to the cleaning guys who was chating in the morning at 8:00AM on a Sunday ! Also last bad thing, the breakfast is also very expensive (7 euros) for only a coffee/chocolate, orange juice and one croissant. In the surroundings there are shops or even a McDonald where you can eat for less. A few good things though : the bathroom was very clean (although tiny as well) and wifi access is free in the rooms. Beside that, i'm not recommanding the hotel to anyone and we won't come back. Ever.

Very noisy place to stay. Right next to the train tracks. Also, quite far from the city -- further than we thought it would be!

What I remember most was the direction to the hotel from La Defence train Station was very misleading. It took the best part of 20mins walk with luggage. There was a lot of turns and crossings. I discovered on my second day that just round the corner from the hotel is a smaller station no more than 3 mins walk. It's called Courbevoie and is just 1 stop to La Defence and 12 mins to Paris St Lazare. For Guests arriving with Luggage Courbevoie is a better choice of station to get off. During the 4 nights I was there the sheets and towels were not changed inspite of the fact that I raised this issue up twice to the Reception staff who were generally friendly and courteous. I will think twice to stay there again. I would score the hotel a 2 out of 5.

The hotel was pretty nice. It was really hard to find it the first time, but once I got it, I had no problem finding it any time of the night. It is about 15 minutes walk from La Defense station, but the road is quite good and safe I think. There is a nice grocery store, bakeries and cafesless than a minute walk from the hotel. I lived on a 5th floor and elevator worked perfect, so I had no problem getting to my room. The room wasn't big, but just right for one person to come and relax after the whole day walking around Paris. The bed was huge and very comfortable, linens were changed every day. The bathroom was beautiful, very well done=). The TV had only channels in French, but it wasn't a problem for me, not a TV fan. The main frustration was that internet didn't work, as long as I understood I had to pay for it, but I didn't had much time for it anyways, so I didn't care much. The personnel was quite nice, but their English was limited, so I couldn't get much info from them. They allowed me to leave my bags after check out, so I could walk around Paris while waiting for the plane.

Central hotel is good value for money in paris. Good location if you know how to get there getting off at courbevoie railway station just a 1 min walk from hotel.New bathroom but small. Very thin walls, bed underblankets had hair all over them, but overall a good hotel to stay at if your on a budget.

The hotel is about 15 minutes walk from La Defense metro station, and the directions were adequate, although it might have been harder without the signs along the way. The area was quiet and most of the local restaurants (which were mainly oriental/Indian) were closed on a Sunday, which the reception staff on duty that evening didn't seem aware of. Roughly 20 minutes to Arc de Triomphe on the metro from La Defense. There is a SNCF station (Corbevoire) literally round the corner from the Hotel, with lines into St Lazaire, and out to Versailles (half an hour). We booked late, so only had the option (for our budget) of hotels out at La Defense, but would probably look to stay closer to the centre next time.

This hotel is really, really hard to find - we spent an hour walking around at midnight trying to find it. From La Defense, walk to the right around CNIT and then down the escalator. Cross the road and you are on rue capitain du guyenmer (sp?). Hotel is in a quiet business area but still with supermarkets, and a couple of yummy bakeries nearby. There's a nice guy on at night. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay.

This was the smallest room I have ever stayed in. We could barely get the door open wide enough to get our suitcases in since the bed was in the way of opening the door. There was no room to move around in there and it was extremely cramped. To make matters worse, we had to sleep with the window open to get any air and our room overlooked the metro (train) tracks so every time the metro came by it sounded like it was coming straight at our room. The location was decent but it was across the river from the rest of Paris so you had to take the metro (only like 2 stops though). Further, the staff did not make much effort to help us and it was not very clean. Honestly, the word that comes to mind is "seedy". I would definitely not stay here again. Even though it was inexpensive I still expected more than what I found there.

Basically this hotel is a ideal choice if you are looking for a economical hotel. The room and the bathroom were small, but they were clean. The location is also good. You can reach the nearby Ladefense metro station on foot within 10 to 15 mins. The rooms were not soundproof. Also if you want free internet, then don't forget to take ur laptop having wireless internet access facility with u. I would advice people to go for this property, if they are low on budget.

I couldn't believe that the room we got for 54EUR on Venere was quoted as 113EUR at the hotel! We still got the discount price, but I certainly wouldn't have paid full price for the room. It was small, but apparently this is normal. We weren't told that the Courbevoie SNCF station is next to it, and so were walking from La Defense until inspiration struck. The doors slammed throughout the hotel throughout the night, but otherwise the hotel was clean, tidy and functional. I was hesitant about leaving my key at the front desk, because it seemed that anyone could go in and ask for the key - no questions were asked, no details requested, the key was just handed over. That unnerved me. Otherwise though very nice, good value and I would stay there again.

My son and I did take an hour to find the hotel even we had reached La Defense. Many people (including the policemen) could not show the best route to reach the hotel. Though booking for 3 nights stay with a request for the top floor quiet room, we allocated the 2/F twin bedroom facing to the railroad. Every morning before eight we heard the noise generated by the lady worker. She usually started to work by bang-opening the door with the vacuum cleaner. You could not watch the satellite TV and the programmes on those few channels are very boring. Also there is no tea service in the room. You may ask from the receptionist and they offer you a small pot (without cover) of hot water each time.

It was a little bit hard to find a property initially, but once you've found it it's very easy to navigate. "Value for money" is excellent, provided you're getting what you've paid for. It's an honest 2-star hotel, nothing more, but - it's very clean, conveniently located. On other reviews we read that it's not a very nice area of the city. We've found none of that - helpful and cheerful people, superb boulangeries and cafes for quick breakfast bite (don't even bother about hotel breakfast!!!) and we've found it quiet and safe late in the night when we've returned from our discoveries of Paris's heart. Too bad we couldn't reserve another couple nights in the same place on our way back from Clermont-Ferrand. The other hotel ("Atlantique") was twice as expensive, no lift... you've got to haul your luggage along the narrow and steep stairs all the way to your floor. Not much fun. And for twice as much price we've got less room. Although, of cource, being in the walking distance of major attractions (Eifel Tour, Invalides etc) helps to justify "Atlantique" price - they're on Montparnasse.

Very good price relation. The only drawback was the location. The walk between the Metro and the Hotel is about 10/15 minutes and I didn't want to do that very late... But the room was very nice and I recommend it if you can't spend more and want some confort, like a private bathroom.

Nice hotel, v helpful reception staff. Beware that if you go to 'Defence' as advertised -it's quite a walk to the hotel - past underpasses etc. I was mystified why the hotel did not advertise the train station literally two minutes away, which has trains to St Lazarre (centre of Paris) every 15 minutes at least, the journey only takes 10 minutes. The stop you need is Courbevoie. This is a much quicker way of getting to and from town for someone unfamiliar with the metropolis of the Defense area. It's the nicest hotel I've been to in this price range.

The hotel was as said..the price was really good for paris in august I think..One big plus was that we didn't have to enter by car in the centre of Paris and maybe get killed in a rond-point :op The hotel was located in a quiet and safe suburb named Courbevoie,it had around some places to eat and a super-market. There was a frequent train from Courbevoie to metro station "La Defense" and by there most of the sightseeings were relatively close.A discouraging thing was sometimes the frequent change of metro lines and directions, even if the trains/metros etc. were frequent and convenient. The hotel was clean, with daily service, they spoke english and other languages too. A small minus was the really small breakfast room, 4 tables for 55 rooms!but it wasn't so important. The only thing that was a little different was that the parking was really small (4-5 seats) and so the first day we had to leave the car outside. It was safe, but as a tourist you never know, especially the first day of your stay. We stayed only 2 days,so that's why maybe the transport seemed a little tiresome for us.In conclusion,I would suggest this hotel to anyone wanting to visit Paris, even better if he has many days at his disposal. We were pleased especially with the price/quality relationship. Also the reception desk was full of comprehensive maps and little leaflets for Paris.

We got our stay trough Venere.com, 135 euro´s for two persons for three nights in high season (july). Since that´s rediculously cheap, we weren´t demanding too much. The fact that the door of the shower wouldn´t close completely and that we had to hold the shower ourselves wasn´t such a problem to us. The walls and ceilings aren´t really soundproof, but again: the hotel isn´t bad at all and the price makes that you don´t bother. The walk from La Défense metro station is about 10 minutes. There are plenty of restaurants and snack bars in the area.

it was the first time I used michelin and venere.com to book a room. I was quite doutful about the quality of the hotel when I made my reservation (it is quite difficult to find a suitable hotel at low rate in Paris, especially in July). Externally the hotel central does not look very attracting but inside, it is nicely decorated and pleasant. The room was quiet and very clean. The breakfast is very correct compared to its price (you may be surprised in other hotels).

10 min walking distance from station, if you go there by car, better to confirm parking space in advance. The station quite near to central paris. Parking space is in front of the hohtel but limited slots. My room was 5th floor and window straight view to effel tower, which was so beautiful. Clean room change sheet and towel every day. Breakfast is quite simple, one glass of fresh orange juice, choice of coffee, tea or chocolate, one croissant with small baquet (not sure spelling correct) but very french and paris style. Pretty and charming hotel. I would like to stay this hotel again and again.

Basic hotel room, but very clean and all you need for a short stay. Breakfast (7 EUR/person) is poor (One croissant and one piece of baguette, 1 butter, 1 marmelade, 1 orange juice, 1 coffee) and too expensive. Parking at the hotel (10 EUR/day) in an enclosed area is very helpfull and compared to normal parking prices ok.

We got this hotel on a last minute offer so the price was excellent value for us. I'm not sure I'd be so impressed with the full price. The rooms are very small but clean and quite nicely decorated. It's about a 5 minute walk from the station (which is quite a short journey from Gare du Nord). Around the corner there is a busy street with wonderful bakeries, a cheese shop, mini-market etc. There is a lift which is definitely welcome if you're on the 5th floor as we were! Overall it was exactly what we needed, which was somewhere reasonable to sleep which was not too far from the city centre, so we had a good stay.

Everybody working at hotel central was very helpful and polite. The room was clean and spacious (new towels were changed every day as well as tiding the room and the bathroom). The first room was very small but sympathetic, but they were willing to give as a bigger room as soon as it was available. Very good relation between price and quality. The metro station was 10 minutes walk. The city centre easy and quick to reach. We will certainly not look for any other hotel when we return to Paris.

The hotel is as advertised, a basic hotel not far from La Defense. It is more than a "footstep" though, the walk takes 15-20 minutes. Another comment aboit loitering "africans" in dark streets made us a bit worried, but in fact we felt completely safe coming back to the hotel, even after midnight. As in any suburban area of a major city one should check for worrying signs and if needed take another route to the hotel - or a taxi. There was NO AC in the room, although the web site says so. It did not matter to us. Internet at the hotel was over-priced, so we did not use it. The staff was extremely nice. We had to wait for breakfast seats. Instead we went for brunch where we were going, or we bought bread, ham and cheese in nearby stores and made our own breakfast baguettes. Dining in the area is OK, if you like exotic food like we do. For take-away, the asian trattoria had the best food.
