Hotel Reviews Bruxelles et du Nord

Hong Kong, Sep 2009
I stayed 3 nights at late Sep. Really excellent location near Gare du Nord. There are restaurants next to the station. Self serviced Rooms are facing street, though a bit noisy at night, still can sleep. You can alway hear when the door of next rooms is opening or closing. No hair dryer, no hot water, lift is 9 sq. feet only. toilet is capable for one man only. should be cheaper, but recommended for backpackers.

A small room in a hotel close to the Gare du Nord at a reasonable price - exactly what I wanted. A very lively area!

Well location (5-8 mins walk from gare du nord station), but the web provided map is not clear enough, a little bit difficult in finding the location at the first time. The room is not big, not very clear, but it is still acceptable because of the reasonable price. The staff can speak simple english and friendly, recommend for the not demanding travelers.

almost everything was fine. agreable staff, clean room, just about 5min by a train station... but, the room I stayed was really small..(not every room is like this, because the room next to my room was much bigger!!) and the shower was poor. water coming out was not enough...

That was the first time my wife and I visited Paris. The entire stay was fantastic. Even the hotel receptionists were very welcoming. But our room was not very spacious, although this did not become a major problem for tourists like us since we spent much of our time discovering Paris. In addition to that, there were only few negative things about the hotel in general, like a very small elevator (we had difficulty making our luggages fit the elevator, considering that we were only 2 individuals inside plus 2 hand carry bags & 2 luggage). Furthermore, as advertised, we were expecting the room to be sound-proof, but noises outside the room, including those coming from the 1st floor, were somehow heard up to our room at the 3rd level. But overall, the place was absolutely nice since it is near to the Gare du nord station, lots of restaurants, and also close to the Montmarte where different souvenir shops can be found. Therefore, the room price was just fair enough. We would want to stay to this hotel again if we'll visit Paris again..

Too costly for the quality of hotel. Rooms too small, electric fittings not working and about to fall off. Given a twin room instead of double. The two beds kepts sliding away. when asked for double was made to move into even smaller room and given the option bluntly. crappy locality with a rougue crowd around. Only advantage is good location. walking distance to Gare du Nord, Sacred Coure and most of the place linked by all means of transport.

perfect position for exploring Paris, if not demanding luxury. Balcony an unexpected extra. Small room (low price!)and shaky bathroom fittings, but everything worked, and the convenience of location outweighed the fairly basic accommodation. Breakfast service very slow on first morning, okay on 2nd.

It was my third time at this hotel. For me as a student it's perfect because it's cheap and fine to spend the night there. I wouldn't suggest it for older people though. The rooms are cleaned every day. Very good location (almost directly at the trainstation), lots of restaurant in the area too. Friendly staff.

Nice staff, although a bit of a language barrier with some reception staff. Rooms are very small with little space for movement/bags however to be expected for price and the location. Lift is tiny, and only fits one person and luggage - better off taking the stairs! Close to sites and very close to the station. Would consider staying there again.

The location of the hotel was excellent, only 100 yards from the Gard du Nord and was directly opposite an internet cafe. The staff were very welcoming and even engaged myself in conversations, in english and french! The size if the room was adequate, it was only used to sleep in anyway! The price I feel was a bit high but I think that was mainly due to the location of the hotel. There are various cafes and restaurants nearby and Montmartre is only down the road where you will discover places such as the Sacré Coeur and only wine vineyard left in France. Overall I had a very pleasant stay and will definitely be returning :)

This place is in serious need of renovations. The room had a very bad mould problem resulting in me, practically sleeping with my head out the window which wasn't a problem because the room is so small that there is only about a 18 inch space around the double bed. TV did not work; the only lamp fixture in the room was broken; the light in the hallway was out; no internet available; the toilet was the only clean (and updated) area of the room. (You can smell the mould even before you enter the room); upon checkout, I was charged an additonal tax for having two people (wife) staying in the room.

Very basic hotel, but no problem at all with it. You just must know that it's going to be basic, and no problem. Clean enough, rooms are very small. Not very noisy, but it also depends on your neighboors... Maybe the worst are the sorroundings, although it's very well communicated. We choose it because of the price and the location (we came from London, and went one day to Brussels).

Although this hotel is not in the safest or most beautiful part of Paris, it is very close to the Paris Nord station which will get you anywhere in the city in just a few minutes. There are also plenty of restaurants and shops near the hotel, and Sacre Coeur is a short walk away. The room was tidy though small, and the bathroom was especially clean and appeared to have been recently renovated.

The location is excellent which only takes a few minutes walk from the train station Gare de Nord to the hotel. We arrived very late (11pm) from the train station and it was great the property is easy to find. The receptionist is very nice and helpful that he already has our information for checking in. The elevator is very small and it is hard to fill in two people with luggages. The room is bigger than what we expected but it is not quiet that you may hear people talking in the hallway. However, overall it is a nice hotel with the price we paid for and the location.

I arrived with my reservation confirmation number but this hotel required a printed copy of the reservation confirmation, which caused a great deal of trouble upon check-in. The hotel offered no Internet access, so I couldn't access my confirmation email. Fortunately, I saved a PDF of the confirmation on my computer. My rooms were not ready so they sent me to another hotel about 1 block away. I cannot provide any other feedback on Bruxelles et du Nord because they sent me to another hotel. Everything at the other hotel was fine. My ratings above for Bruxelles et du Nord are not relevant because I ended up staying elsewhere.

This hotel is well-located (very close to the Gare du Nord) and a good price. Rooms are not very big, but personally I did not want much space as we did not spend much time there. This is a good place for someone who only wants a place to sleep and to spend most of their time exploring Paris. The price was reasonable, and the breakfast (5 euros/person/day) was good, too, fairly competitively priced for the area with the added convenience of not having to hunt down a cafe.

I understand it was a budget hotel, but this seemed to me more like a sardine's hotel! very very small room. WEBSITE STATED THAT INTERNET WAS INCLUDED, AND IT WAS NOT (I had an argument about it, cause that was the reason why I booked here!) and had to pay VERY EXPENSIVE extra for wireless service. Also, website stated that they would arrange transportation to/from airport upon request and separate payment: they denied this option and I had to organize it all on my own. And IT IS NOT RECENTLY RENOVATED (unless 'recently' means some decades ago!) TV didn't show more than 3 or 4 channels, and remote did not work, couldn't even raise volume! Very very bad!!!

A budget hotel. Plain and simple as that. Located within 2 minutes of the Gare du Nord. Close walks to the Moulin Rouge and the Sacre Coeur.Staff were friendly.Lots of eateries nearby. Very tiny rooms. Strong bleach smell in the loo(which probably meant there weren't any bugs). But the place definitely needs a bit of modernisation. Some light switches didn't work. Definitely not for a couple planning a romantic getaway. Rather suited for college kids who want to explore the city all day and just need a place to sleep over - though a backpackers would be cheaper I guess.

As we were only in Paris for a short break this hotel offered convenient location & adequate facilities. The breakfast was friendly & adequate. for 50 euros a night the room size, although a bit tight, was big enough for myself and probably another person. the room was relatively clean, the only thing was the floor was pretty dirty. in addition, the bathroom was clean except it was missing a ceiling tile and one can see the spider webs and other things hanging from it. besides all these unpleasant elements there were good things about the hotel. it was very close to the train station, it was quite, and there was a lot of restuarants around the area. Overall i would recommend this hotel for those on a budget.

First of all, this is a budget hotel so don't expect chocolates on the pillows. The room was quite clean. We paid 55 euros per night but I see that they've now lowered it to 50. Even though they list a continental breakfast, they don't list that it is extra 5 euros per person. This hotel is very close to the Gare du Nord which is why we chose it since we came from London by rail. It is a short ride (or a long walk) from the main tourist destinations. The white church Sacré Coeur Basilica is quite close. The neighborhood is not great since it's near a train station. However the hotel is located on a quiet street so the rooms are quiet at night. We were there in August which is their slow season. I was told that it is much more crowded during their busy season. There was an internet cafe directly in front of the entrance to the hotel which was very convenient for us. There was no cattle or a coffee maker in the room. However I was allowed to get utencils, plates, cups and hot water from their kitchen. We were only there to crash at night while sightseeing during the day. If you are on a budget and don't have high expectations, this place is for you.

If you're not planning on staying in your room all day, this is perfect for you. The bed was very comfortable and the room was cleaned daily. It was a little cramped for two people, but we managed. It would've been nice if there was an extra electrical outlet in the bathroom. There was only one for the entire room (the TV was plugged into it). The front desk staff was very friendly. Close to the metro and main train station (Gare du Nord) made it easy to get around Paris and get to the airport when we had to go home.

How this place can be even considered a 2-star, I don't know. The rooms were filthy, they didn't even come in and make the beds, the people were up until all hours of the night yelling, it was right by the train station, they barely spoke any English, the rooms were like closets, you could go on and on. This place is not even a 1 star. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. TAKE THIS HOTEL OFF YOUR LIST!
