The hotel is very good. The only negative point was that the staff at arrival did not know where the garage is and how to get a hotel rate for parking so that I had to pay the regular price. Otherwise no complaint at all, staff friendly and also restaurants recommended were just great.

Staff were very helpful (particularly Bruce) on arrival and willing to speak either french or fluent english. Breakfast perhaps a little overpriced but there are plenty of boulangeries and small supermarkets nearby. Metro is a 2min walk to all major tourist attractions. Hotel was very clean, bedroom was small but not cramped. All in all a very enjoyable stay. Would recommend to friends and definitely return.

Excellent choice of restaurants in vicinity. Breakfast in hotel expensive. For superior room the view was disappointing and room smaller than expected. Beds & towels changed, unnecessarily, every day. Close to several metro stations which made seeing the city easily

My wife and I have stayed in a few different hotels in Paris over the last couple of years, and the Aviatic was the one which had the best accommodations. It looks like the hotel has been recently renovated, and the room was very nice. The bathroom was very modern, and fairly spacious for Parisian standards, there was a stand-up shower, but no tub. The decoration of the bedroom was very tasteful, and the wooden floors were a plus for my wife, who's not a big fan of hotel carpets. The staff was very friendly and helpful, despite my butchered French - they all spoke English fairly well. The hotel is on the very south edge of the 6th Arrondissement and closer to Montparnasse Tower than it was to Invalides. The location was a good walk from most of the sights of Paris, but we enjoy walking, so this was not a problem. There are a few different options of subway stations/lines within a short distance for those who prefer to go with the public transportation. I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone going to Paris, whether on vacation or business, and would look to stay there again.

This Hotel I would highly recommend for several reasons its location was very good very near at least 2 metros we used the saint placide metro which was just a straight walk down from the hotel as you come out of the hotel turn right. We got breakfast at a cafe bar right beside this metro which was very cheap for croissants and coffee. The staff at the hotel were exceptional friendly and helpful. The room very clean the only thing it could have been a little bit bigger not very spacious that was the only thing. I would definitely stay in this hotel again and would definitely recommend it. Good value for the price you pay.

This hotel is a brilliant value for money choice. Its location is superb with less than 5 min. walking distance to the Falguiere metro station providing fast connection to Porte de Versailles exhibition centre going in one direction and the "Rive Gauche/Latin Quarter and central "Place de la Concorde" going in the other. The Montparnasse railway (TGV) and metro station which also accommodates a big shopping centre (Galeries Lafayette) is also nearby. The surroundings offer several restaurants and bars "just around the corner", and a spectacular view to the Eiffel tower.

Personnel was excellent and can help you with any requests. I had asked for two twin beds but got a double which was smaller than hoped for. Breakfast is overpriced and going to the corner cafe is much more of the French experience desired with very friendly waiters.

We were not given a good room - maybe some hotels do this to venere customers? On the 1st floor, the metro rumbling below was very disturbing, room needing refurbished, stained carpet, bedspread didn't smell fresh, water did not drain away when showering and ended up above ankles, only 2 shower gels and 1 shampoo provided for 2 people for 6 nights.

A lovely hotel. Large enough to be really nice, but small enough to be cosy and welcoming. The room we stayed in was delightful and well decorated. The staff speak excellent english and are extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel is about 5 minutes walk from 3 different metro stations and about 10 minutes from Montparnasse train station. Very highly recommended.

After reading some of the on-line reviews, I almost wanted to cancel our reservation. I am SO glad we didn't. Everything about the Aviatic was charming. Staff were always friendly and helpful. Room was CLEAN, roomier than expected. Quite charming, actually. Bath was modern, clean, had shower AND tub, terry cloth robes, nice towels. Mini-frig and safe in room. Non-smoking - smelled great. Always cleaned at end of day no matter how late we left or how early we returned. Hotel itself was very quiet. Our room faced street and picked up a lot of noise from traffic - but, hey, it's Paris, what do you expect? Did not eat there, so cannot comment on food. Location was great - close to several metro stations, lots of cafes and a grocery, but not too tourist-y or crowded with sightseers. Very convenient to everything and one of the nicest areas we saw in Paris. Loved all 6 nights; would definitely return to Aviatic in future if opportunity to return to Paris arises. C'est bon!

Booked the hotel through Venere which was no problem. However the hotel was really dissapointing - we booked a standard room - however on arrival it was small (a shoe box was bigger) and because it was in the centre of the building facing a small courtyard/garden was really dark. Although you dont go to paris to sit in your room - I couldnt bring myself to sleep in it so we upgraded to a delux room. This was better facing the street nice and bright - but not massive. Unfortunately the shower attachment over the bath was broken and the bath wouldnt empty of water??! We actually only spent one night - and the hotel is undergoing some refurbishment - but I cant say I would return. The staff were very accommodating and helpful however I dont think it was worth 200euros (without breakfast).

There was renovation work taking place in the foyer so there was no sitting room and the smell of paint which is why it is not rated higher in the first section. I liked the decor, the attention to detail in the rooms and even though the standard double was small, it was not claustrophobic. The fresh fruit salad for breakfast was a bonus, though the coffee is not very good.

This is an superb hotel. The staff went out of their way to be helpful. It was a bit more then I wanted to pay but considering the location and after all its is Paris, it was a good value. The breakfast rooom was on the small side so there was at times little elbow room but the all-you-can eat breakfast was worth the 14 euros. Also, the hotel was undergoing some renovations which put the lounge area off limits. But that's progress. My room was spacious for a single, espcially for Paris. The staff was great and went out of their way to be helpful at all times. Oh, there was complimentray wine and juice in the afternoon.

The price we were quoted on Venere is not the price we got. Double, double, TRIPLE check that! Other than that, the room, service, and hotel was lovely. Its small, but romantic, and not far from some quaint cafes, a great resturaunt, and the metro. Overall, I loved it. I'd stay again!

The public areas are drab. Either the hotel or a guest was burning insence and the resulting odour was pungent and unappealing. We requested a double room and received a room with 3 beds so space was tight. Hotel rooms in Paris are notoriously small. 2 beds were pushed together to form a double, again quite common in Europe, however one of these beds was extremely worn and sagging. The bathroom which was spotless and quite modern had a window but no window covering, providing the surrounding apartments with potentially interesting views and providing us with no privacy until we placed a towel over the window. Our room was classified by the hotel as 'Superior'. The only thing superior about it was the price! We used have your service before. Last year we booked our accomodation in Venice through Venere and we were very pleased. C'est la vie!

We only stayed for one night and it was very pleasant. The staff was always friendly and courteous - even helping us find a restaurant and make a reservation. The elevator is VERY small and the stairwell is narrow/steep. The rooms were small, but that's more of a European thing. TV could be larger and having to pay for the internet was annoying. The hotel was in a quiet area but just around the corner was plenty of activity if that is what you prefer. I'd definitely come back.

Being used to North American room sizes, but still knowing what to expect, we found our first room (first leg of our stay) on the smallish side. Funny enough, for the second leg we paid less for the room and had a much better one (110 euros versus 140 euros for the first leg of our vacation). But still, we really enjoyed our stay there given the proximity of any and all available services.

The hotel was built almost a hundred years ago and other than converting a small closet into a bath nothing seems to have changed. The subway goes under the hotel and vibrates constantly, the plumbing was not in the wall so when someone above flushed a toilet or showered the rush of water echoed through the room (even with the door to the bath closed)and went on forever! The room was so tiny only one could walk around at a time (larger than Japan, smaller than most European). There was a tiny staircase up to the room and a slow lift. The room was NOT as described! The TV was a 12 inch old fashioned type(not flat screen as advertised)and had one English channel--BBC documentaries, no news. Not a big deal, but not as advertised. The room did not look anything like the photo!!!! Pictures you see on the net are NOT what you really get. The area was great--lots of places to eat, shopping close by and lots of links to transportation. The staff was friendly and very helpful pointing us in the right direction. Parking--you have to call and make special reservations to park in someones back yard--they do not have a parking lot, only five garages. We lucked out and they had a vacancy, 20 euros/day.

We enjoyed the location of the Aviatic. It was central to the Montparnasse area, and lots of great food, especially Crepes! We have an 11 month old daughter, and they were kind enough to already have a crib out and ready for her when we arrived. The employees were a little uninterested in us, and when we tried to move up in the size of our room, they were completely despondent (apparently there was some mysterious "wine convention"). It was my second time in Paris, and for the price, our room was significantly small, at least in my mind. Frankly, for a 3 star hotel, the Aviatic was charming, but a little dated. Regardless, the rooms were clean and quiet, and we enjoyed Paris just the same!

We enjoyed our time at the Aviatic Saint Germain. Our only issue was that the room was quite small and it was a fair walk from the heart of Saint Germaine but given Paris prices we probably should have expected this. The train station was only a few hundred meters away and this is an extremely convenient way of getting around paris.

Staff not good at multi-tasking - if you're second in line, you tend to be forgotten, but otherwise good. Location good. Breakfast seemed expensive so we ate in local cafes - cheaper and more fun. Two main issues - the front of the hotel was being renovated so the windows were obscured by scaffolding and builders would walk past the room during the day - this wasn't mentioned at booking or check in. Not a real problem for us as we were only there two days and out all day anyway. The other problem was the internet service available from the hotel - you had to buy a pre-paid card and only the more expensive ones were available - possibly because the cost of the internet was truly exorbitant and much more expensive than we have experienced at other hotels. While all this seems a bit damming, we had an economical stay in a useful location in one of the world's great cities - we would consider using the hotel again.

The personnel are friendly and helpful. Unfortunately they don't quite carry through. Their intentions are well-meant, but the results of their efforts were disappointing. I.e. the champagne we ordered beforehand never arrived and the restaurant recommendations were poor (that's an understatement). When all that is said how ever, the staff was really friendly, the hotel is beautiful and well maintained and I would definitely stay there again. The location should be marked better on map. We had hard time locating the hotel on our city maps. There is metro really close, but station name was not mentioned in instructions how to get to hotel. Only the RER Gare Montparnass. Take cab from RER Gare Montparnass-too many stairs to use metro with luggage. The location is very good, metro very close. It is good if you do not have to drag your suitcases. The room was quite nice, very nice towels in bathroom, nice bathrobes. But carpet should have been steam cleaned!! The room was very good value and very pleasant. The bed matresses were very soft-too soft for me. Beautifully carved bed headframe. The elevator did not work when we were leaving. It worked the mornings before. We took shuttle to airport, we saw more of the city.

Nice staying and good price. The position is excellent, near Montparnasse metro station. The room was clean (maybe the coverlet could be renewed) and the bathroom clean to and big enough. The double bed we had was not so big (as common in France). Breakfast not included. One of the clerk speaks and excellent Italian and a fluent Spanish. I will stay again.

Excellent value for the price, we spent 5 nights, great location for transport and if you don't mind walking and have the time, you can cover all the major sights and more of this beautiful city from the hotel. Only had breakfast once which was fine but the dining room is very small and you may have to wait for space, probably better to eat in a cafe (breakfast 12 euros?) Excellent value, we paid £58.00 per night for a double room which was very clean and good sound proofing (our room was facing onto the road on 6th floor, heard no noise from outside or within).

We had booked a double room but on arrival it was a twin room which they made into a double the next day. The room was small enough but probably ample size when compared to other room sizes in Paris. Paris is an expensive city and finding a hotel room that is decent and central is hard. However the Aviatic offers good standard of accomodation and pleasent surroundings and staff. The let downs are the 12 euros extra for breakfast and its location. This is not really S. Germain and should really be under Montparnasse. Breakfast should really be included. The hotel is nice but not a great base for exploring the city, but at the price is not bad if you are just needing a bed for the night.
