Hotel Appia Lafayette - Paris

The room was in the 2nd floor, because of nearness to the gare du nord, it was very lound. And the people that were in the streets made us (2 woman) sometimes fear. the room was were clean and a none-smoker room. but all in all it was good relationship between price and quality.

I stayed at the Hotel Appia La Fayette for a total of 7 nights. Generally, this is a clean and comfortable hotel for the budget traveller. The rooms come with all the basic amenities. The location is ideal for exploring Paris attractions as it is a few minutes' walk to Gare du Nord and Gare de l'Est stations. The only damper during my stay was that the air-conditioning system in the hotel was not working during my stay- and that was in summer! My room was very warm even in the late evenings. Lone travellers may want to be a little alert when returning to the hotel at night as the street lighting is not very good.

I'd say exceeded my expectations after having not visited Paris for many years. Hotel location is excellent. Only regret is that we could not stay longer than one night. I would go back here without a question.

Pleasant hotel, small but clean rooms, good service, close to gare du nord and to all traffic connections.

A clean, comfortable hotel near to train station. Staff friendly, english spoken. I did not hear any road noise. Continental breakfast was good, varied.

The lift was not working and my wife and I have to walk 4 floors on a very small, narrow and winding stairs. I nearly fell down. The reception personnel was not helpful. You should not recommend a hotel like this for tourist.

We selected the Appia for its proximity to the Gare Du Nord and Gare d'Est train stations. It was in aperfect location for both of these main Paris stations. The staff were very helpful and friendly, even storing our main luggage while we went to Lourdes for three days. The rooms were not large, but very clean and featured a small baclony. Breakfast was fine. Access to trains and buses being so near enabled us to reach the centre of Paris in less than 10 minutes and at minimal cost. We stayed a total of 7 nights at the Appia, which allowed us a simple connection to the airport, the city centre, London (Eurostar), Lisseux and Loudes (3 nights before returning to the Appia). We would stay at the Appia again.

Nice, very near from the railway station, small and neat hotel. The room is however a little bit smaller than I expected.

A very pleasant stay and perfectly situated between Gare du Nord and Gare de l'Est stations which was good for us but not a great position for general sight-seeing in Paris.

Goood quality/price ratio for this area. Clean room, but a bit small.

Convenient for two stations, but area not recommended.

After 25 hours in airports and planes between Australia and Paris, it was a great pleasure to arrive about 8am and be able to go straight to the room we had booked, instead of just leaving our luggage to be looked after. The staff continued to be helpful for the remainder of our stay. The location was interesting and convenient (an internet cafe run by an obliging Punjabi was just around the corner - the Metro and buses were also close at hand) with an excellent bistro a hundred metres away. A great introduction to Paris. The one problem with our room was a shortage of hanging space.

Good hotel. Close to the Metro and to the central city. Especially the close proximity to the Gare de l'Est is great (coming from Germany). There must have been a party across the street two nights during our stay, which was somewhat annoying, but not the fault of the hotel staff. Otherwise quiet location.

A little hotel in Paris. Clean and functional. Near "Gare du nord". You can have your breackfast near the hotel in a "tre jolie" brasserie.

A good hotel if you are ariving on Eurostar or the TGV. Not the best area but some good Braseries near by.
