staff has no idea what they're doing. can't answer simple questions! They give credence to the idea of "Rude French". Unwilling to offer any help when they see you struggling with whatever you're struggling with. POOR QUALITY STAFF. Good location though, very near Metro. MAKE SURE YOUR ROOM IS IN THE BACK OF THE HOTEL!! the front is very noisy with cars and scooters ALL NIGHT LONG!!

Initial response at reception was a bit cold but when you consider we arrived at 9.30am for a 2pm check in you can understand. Put the bags into storage and off we went. Very pleasent experience, very helpful reception especially understanding us. Not a bad location, a good first experience of Paris. Remember it's Paris and it's not the Ritz and you will enjoy your stay. Au Revoir

The hotel is conveniently located in a nice neighbourhood with several metrostops and restaurants nearby. Our hotelroom faced the street and it was extremely noisy when we tried to sleep with the window open. The room was clean and not too small, considering Parisian standards. The breakfast costs 8 €/person which is not good value for money: the selection of food is very limited, especially for this price. Overall I was happy with our choice and would return, if I needed to be based in this area again.

nice hotel, good location very friendly staff no air conditioning which is a minus if you close the double glazed to suppress the noise and let the fan on the room can get pretty hot...but hey this is not a 5 stars hotel so overhaul good value for money beside it is in a safe place of Paris

Absolutely marvellous hotel - great staff, cleaned every day, excellent location.Always hot water in excellent sized bathroom with built-in hairdrier. Good local coffee/breakfast shops and cakes! Minutes stroll from 3 metro stations.Didn't have breakfast so can't comment. They gave us hot water for coffee at no charge.Have excellent stock of tour brochures/info, and give good recommendations /directions to attractions.Organised airport shuttle for us without even being asked.Considering its only 2 star it's excellent.(Only drawback is lift is very small, but it is always working!)Would always go back on any second visit.

If you are looking for something cheap in Paris, this is propably the answer! The hotel is situated in a quite good area, so you don´t have to be afraid when you walk alone late at night. However, I´d recommand this hotel to you, only if you are a single traveller and you do not want to spend many hours in the hotel. If you want to live romantic moments with your sweetheart, you´d better look for something else! Anyways, the room was very clean (that was the most important for me) and the employees were very friendly! If you stay there, prepare yourselves to see the smallest elevator, ever! The bathroom was tiny, too! As for breakfast, it was the typical french breakfast, which means ...almost notning! Oh, and the most important, be ready to listen to what your neighbours say or do, coz you can hear them PERFECTLY!!!!

It was a gamble to stay in this hotel as we saw that it was under construction in Dec08-Jan-09, but follishly hoped that it would be over by then... Alas, we were very wrong. It looked as if construction barely started. Our room was on a top floor and elevator was broken. The staff however was very helpful - two nice men heaved our enormous suitcases upstairs. Internet was functioning; room was clean. Can't really comment on the noise as we weren't there during the day and closed windows provide a very good blocking of the outside noise (room was facing the street, but we barely heard anything). We didn't have breakfast in the hotel, but from what we saw when checked in - it wasn't too compelling anyway. We went around the corner to a nice cafe instead - cheaper and certainly more pleasant than the "dining" room in the hotel. Considering the amount of construction mess, the hotel shouldn't be functioning, certainly shouldn't be charging the price they did. I do want to underline once more that the staff was extremelly friendly and went out of their way to help. That made the whole difference.

Didn't have the room I asked for (double room with 2 beds for 2 adults, 1 child). Were doing construction on hotel, so couldn't give us the original room. Bathroom toilet leaked. Breakfast very sparse. No working elevator. Charged us more for a different room, and still had to ask for a folding bed.

Lots of building work going on in the property, which was quite dirty and noisy at times (not the weekend), but by the look of what they were doing there should be some good improvements. Nice little place, esp for the price and location. Only 5 mins to the Cambronne Metro, a further 5 mins walk to the Ecole Militaire. Staff very pleasant and helpful. We were apparently booked into a twin room, but when he saw us (one of us being 6'1") he kindly volunteered to move us to a double room for comfort :-) Good sized room and bathroom for a small Paris hotel! Would def use again.

I think I stayed there in a wrong moment because I thought they were renovating only the reception(as advised before I booked the hotel, but when I got there they were renovating EVERYTHING. So, it was a little unconfortable, noise all day, and every floor at the hotel was unfinished. I think they should close the whole building until everything was ready. I only stayed for a day(and I think I was the only guest), but I had to wake up with the noise of a screwdriver. I wouldn't tell you not to stay there, but if you are heading to Paris for the next 5 or 6 months you should look for other places to stay, at least until the building is ready.

Great location, short walk from Cambronne station, easy to get to the RER lines and central Paris, good local shops, nice English speaking staff. One of the two rooms we reserved [Room 205] was fine, the other,[Room 206] had just one [loose] plug socket, a broken lightshade, curtains that didn't quite close and hard beds, but overall we enjoyed our stay. Just avoid room 206 til it's renovated!

I booked a single room, and I stayed in a spacious double room. Room and bathroom were in good condition, large and clean, compared to the others I saw. Bath towels changed daily. Staff was kind (But in my case I speak french fluently and hadn't particular needs). 2 metro stations are at 5 minutes by foot. Rooms on the street are a bit noisy. Good price/quality ratio for this category (about 50€ single room).

A good, clean, quiet hotel for 50 euros (but not worth the standard 100 euro price). Location is a few blocks from the metro-- area is safe and respectable. Rooms are basic but clean, not large but perfect for short stay if you are out in the city instead of in the room. Has TV, free WiFi in the rooms, and an iron available at the front desk. Breakfast is typical (and overpriced) so you are better finding a cafe or boulangerie.

Nice looking hotel for young couples on a 2-3 day-visit to the beautiful french capital. Living in Paris ain't cheap, but a take away croissant from one of the "boulangeries" at the nearby Place de Commerce or one of the "Brasseries" at the nearby Place Cambronne will help to spare your purse as they offer a good service for a moderate price compared to the ones in the city center.

The room was even better than the ones on the photographs! Room gave on the back yard - perfectly quiet. Very good positionning - two different métro-stations are less than 5 minutes walk from the hotel, you can get wherever you want within a very short time. Excellent cafés on Place Cambronne. Staff was very friendly and competent - I asked for the weather forecast and had a prompt and correct answer. I will definitely come back to this hotel and recommend it to friends.

This is a case of "you get what you pay for". The location was good, about a five minute walk to the metro, and the rooms were clean. However, the rooms have not been updated for quite some time and were tiny. This is the perfect place to stay if you choose to maximize your time with seeing the sites and only use the room to sleep and shower. The people at the front desk were very friendly though and spoke very good English. There was a nice bakery down the street, on the way to the Metro, where we were able to pick up a nice breakfast.

Before leaving the US I had everything planned through venere.com and it worked out very well. If you are looking for low prices, great location and rooms, this is the hotel. If you are a pampered type of person, then try the Marriot.
