Hotel Reviews Alma Mesnil

Australia, Oct 2008
Stayed 2 nights in Paris and thr hitel is perfectly positioned. The garden leaves much to be desired and the breakfast is overpriced. I didn't realise I had to pay extra for tea and coffee! The bathroom could do with a revamp, I mean, not even a shower curtain? Water ended up everywhere as the shower rose was a fine misty spray and shot everywhere. And having to climb four flights of stairs to reach our room was a bit much. But we didn't go to Paris for the room, we went to see the sights. Again the hotel is the perfect spot for all the major sights and with restaurants, supermarket, laundry close by makes it REALLY good.

The room was spacious (we stayed 4 persons) and so was the bathroom. The staff was friendly and the surrondings nice, close to supermarket, metro and the Eiffeltower. We got a room facing the street and that was quite noisy during the night and especially early morning. It could be nice if you could choose a room facing the garden when booking at the internet. The only serious complaint was that there was a smell of toilet in the room maybe because of the stuff used for cleaning and in general the air in the hotel was a bit "stuffy".

We used the Alma Mesnil for our participation in the Paris Marathon. It is an excellent location for this, being only a few minutes away from both start and finish. The rooms are very spacious for Paris although the one we had on the ground floor was noisy. The staff in this very small hotel was friendly but some of them knew very limited English

I used to be a "Parisian". I was in Paris both for work and leisure with my wife and our 2 daughters. We appreciated staying in this hotel very convenient (close to the Trocadero, Etoile, ...), particularly with this big room for 4 of us at a very interesting rate.

Overall my girlfriend and I enjoyed our stay at Alma Mesnil. The location is fantastic, very close to good coffee shops, the metro, Eiffel tower and Champs Elysees. However, we had to ask for a hairdryer and the towels although fresh everyday had the consistency of sandpaper. But what really irritated me was that the bed sheets were not changed at all during our stay, which is something I have never encountered in any hotel before. The staff were friendly, the location is great and its inexpensive but I'm not sure I would stay there again.

The room was very spacious which we appreciated being a group of 4.. the only fault was: third floor and no elevator.. and an 'Ancient' smell in the room!!!

The location was perfect, the service was wonderful, and I have already referred another friend to this hotel. On any future visits to Paris, I will be staying here, unless they are sold out, which based on the overall experience, is a possibility.

The Alma Mesnil was centrally located to attractions and the metro system. The staff were extremely helpful and very, very courteous. We enjoyed our stay very much and hope to return soon. We will definitely recommend this hotel. Re: Noise -- Our room faced the street. It was very warm and so it was necessary to keep our window open. There seemed to be many people in the streets that were loud very late and in the very early morning large trucks that were very loud worked directly under our window. I know that the hotel has no control over this situation. I thought it prudent to mention this as I rated it poorly for noise. Otherwise, it was a great stay!
