We arrived here around 11Am and was not allowed to enter the room until 2PM.To tell you the truth, I think the receptionist was not friendly at all. The hotel was centrally located and convenient. The room was awfully small and smelled like a cigarette factory that we have to open the windows even though it was cold. The only thing i can say is that the room was clean and has a balcony that made it bearable. We have been traveling for almost 3 weeks and that was our last night just before we departed for home but this turned out to be the most unfriendly place we have ever stayed.

This is not a luxury hotel, but if you're looking for affordable accomodation and a reasonably comfortable stay in the middle of Paris, this is the perfect place. The rooms are on the small side, but they are clean. The front desk staff speak perfect English and they are more than willing to help with any inquiries. The hotel is within walking distance to a number of attractions, and it is easy to take the Metro to others. The area is safe - as a single female traveller I felt fine walking back to the hotel alone after midnight. I will definitely stay here again next time I am in Paris for business or leisure.

Great hotel for price and location. Within walking distance of most main attractions, a range a restaurants/cafes nearby, staff very helpful.

The location of the hotel was great. The room was clean and comfortable. However, the AC didn't work very well and room was a bit small. Overall this hotel was a good choice.

We really enjoyed staying at this hotel and thought it was a very good value. The rooms were typically small as are many of the rooms in Paris but they were very well organized and comfortable. We had a balcony overlooking an ancient church and street corner--very picturesque. The day manager was extremely nice and always helpful. She answered all of our questions and filled our requests. I observed her helping another group book a tour to Versailles in a pleasant and professional manner. On the morning we ordered breakfast in the room, it was delivered promptly. I would definitely stay here again.

My family and I didn't have breakfast at the hotel. We always bought baguettes and cakes at boulangerie Kayser (the best bread in Paris!), which is just very near Hotel Agora, in Rue Monge. Nearby we had lunch at a Hippopotamus restaurant in Rue Lagrange (nice hamburgers and salads).

I had a single room on the ground floor -- the only single room that was said to be available when I arrived. It was very clean, but also very small. The main problem, however, was the rumbling of the metro that passed underneath the hotel. Added to this noise was the elevator that shook every time anyone used it, as well as the sound of folks passing by in the corridor. I think that the hotel is not well built. It is certainly not one of the old charming historical buildings that Paris can offer. The breakfast was not bad, even if a bit pricey; it had a little more than the basic croissant, baguette, and coffee.

Typically small room but newly renovated, thoughtfully furnished, thoroughly functional and nicely ventilated. Also a great location on a quiet street. All in all, better than than the 4 star where I stayed on business the previous 6 nights!

I had an amazing time at agora saint Germain. The only problem with the hotel was the mens working all day long since 9 AM. The staff is amazing, the cafe is really good, the locations is perfect and the room is really cosy. I would suggesst for everybody.

Had already stayed in this hotel a few years ago and could notice improvement in rooms equipment (regretfully the space cannot be.. enlarged, but this is quite common in all hotels in Paris) Excellent the positioning : a few minutes walking from most interesting points /monuments

The location of this hotel is excellent, a few minutes walk from the islands and Notre Dame, longer but do-able walks to d'orsay museum and Pompidou centre. Metro a few minutes away. Close to St Germain and many restaurants in area. The street is quiet but just off the busy rue d'Ecoles. Lots of interesting little streets to explore in the area. The room and bathroom are adequate size, clean and with very comfortable bed and bedlinens. We found staff to be friendly and helpful and breakfast was reasonable. I would stay in this hotel again

The hotel is in a great location. Aline at the front reception desk was always very helpful and suggested restaurants and a bus tour. Although the room is small by North American standards, it was well equiped with a fridge/mini bar and safe. The TV was wall mounted which provided extra space. It was very comfortable, clean and quiet.

My TV broke down as a result of the command box not working. No buttons on TV to adjust if the command box doesn't work. The room was very quiet and the location of the hotel is excellent.

Good central accomodation, near Notre Dame and metro station Maubert-Mutualite. Attention that breakfast is not included in the price, you must pay it separately!!!!

I have stayed in other 3* accommodation in Paris which has been of better quality than this. I think for what is available it is slightly over-priced.

We really enjoyed staying at the Agora. they are in the process of upgrading/remodeling the reception area which I think will make it very nice. The rooms are small but that's not entirely surprising given the building is very old. Besides, we didn't spend much time there. Too much to do! The Agora was very conveniently located especially if you're a walker!

The main problem was that the reception area was being completely renovated/refitted while we were there, which meant that there was no lounge area and no patio, which made for slightly depressing surroundings. In addition, the building work and associated noise started quite early in the morning. Finally, perhaps it was my mistake, but I thought the price we were quoted included breakfast whereas it was only when we left that we discovered that breakfast was charged for separately. Ten euros for a continental breakfast is a bit pricey, although it was good of its type. Apart from these two things, generally fine.
