This good value for money Paris accommodation is ideal for great romantic getaways, cultural holidays and romantic trips, and the Hotel Acte V will make your stay in France an unforgettable one.

An excellent central location!

Close to the traditional university district of the Latin Quarter, the Hotel Acte V Paris City Hotel stands just a few steps from the lively Saint-Germain-des-Près area, which is rich with cafes at the centre of the mid-20th century existentialist movement, and near the worldwide known Gothic cathedral of Notre Dame de Paris. Featuring a cosy atmosphere, Hotel Acte V welcomes all guests in its nicely decorated lounge. The choice of red tones on the walls conveys a pleasant feeling of warmth, and the helpful staff will help you to enjoy the fullest experience of the city of Paris.

The hotel's strategic location is great for seeing the sights of the city but still retains an air of seclusion which guarantees you a peaceful night’s sleep. Hotel Acte V’s location on the famous Left Bank makes the setting more local than touristy and is ideal for accessing the transport routes of the Monge, Jussieu, and Cardinal Lemoine metro lines. After a long day out exploring the city why not chill out at Hotel Acte V’s lounge and sample some warming beverages while you rest your tired bones or surf the net using the hotels free WiFi or Internet corner and see where your next exploration will take you.

The eeriest place in Paris!

With the bones of over 6 million people on artistic display, the Catacombs or Les Catacombes is a unique attraction. Explore the various labyrinthine paths that feel like they go on forever and lead to numerous alcoves and caves strewn with bones, skulls and various other skeletal parts. The Catacombs are steeped in history, both the story on how they were created and how they were used during WWII. It should definitely be on your top ten things to visit while you are in the city. Not for the faint-hearted, the descent into the Catacombs can be long and tiring and with the many twists and turns in this dark location it may not be suitable for those with claustrophobic tendencies. Even though visitors' experiences down in the Catacombs can vary from person to person, everyone agrees that it is not as creepy as you would expect.

The hotel is good value for the money. It’s closed to several metro stations and is within walking distance of the Notre Dame, the Patheon, the Luxembourg garden, etc and many restaurants. There’s a grocery store just few minutes away. The rooms are pretty basic. AC doesn’t seem to work very well, open the window actually provides cooler air. We stayed there in July and it wasn’t too hot. The staff is very friendly. There is no safe in the room. Elevator is very small, but that’s typical of Paris hotels.

The rooms are small but sufficient. One of the reasons to book this hotel was that the photo showed a common double bed. Still we only had a Queen sized bed for two. Though it was ok after we received a second blanket. The location is Quartier Latin, but I loved all the cute bars, restaurants and bakerys in the area.

Very well-situated hotel, near to restaurant district, underground station on the corner. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Rooms on the small side but perfectly sufficient and clean. Price on the high side, like most downtown hotels, but good value for money.

The hotel was nice, clean and centrally located. Staff was excellent, well informed and very friendly and helpful. The furniture was ok - the bathroom was modern :-). For a longer stay the room would have been a tad on the small side. But, for one night it was perfect.

Front desk staff were all very nice and helpful but hotel was very small, hallways tight, shower small but clean. Although it is situated well, it is still a long walk to the Seine, Pascal Pinaud's patisserie is down the street.

Very close to Metro stations and reasonably priced restaurants. The room and shower area are rather small, but I guess thats quite okay for Paris. Can be quite noisy if windows are left open.

We were amazed by the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, they were all happy to help no matter what the question. The rooms were great as they were very clean and comfortable, they are small but I didn't notice at all once I unpacked my bags. They gave us fresh towels every day and even cleaned out the bottom of the shower daily! When using our very little french, they were more than happy to help us out by speaking english. All in all I am looking forward to coming back to Paris and I am definately going to stay at Acte V again. Thanks for a great time in Paris!

We stayed here for four nights in April 2010 over Easter and were most impressed by the hotel; we would not hesitate to go back when we next visit Paris. The staff were always cheerful, pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. The location was also very good, with the Rue Mouffetard just a few minutes' walk away with nice shops and excellent (and cheap!) restaurants - go to the Mouffe Tot Tard for outstanding value for money and lovely food (3-course menu for €15.00).

My husband and I spent few days in Paris, so we needed a well located place to stay. Acte V offers good localization and price. However, if you are a little bit overweight, you probably do not fit inside the shower....

Excellent Paris hotel not far from the Pantheon and the Latin Quarter. Metro entrance on the same block as the hotel. Short walk to the "gourmet street", Rue Mouffetard. The hotel is a typical city hotel with rather small rooms, a tiny lift and narrow stairs. But I find this charming. Our double room was impeccably cleaned and the bed was excellent. Be aware that Rue Monge is quite busy, so rooms facing the street will be a bit noisy with the window open. The shower was perhaps the smallest I've ever used, but that's OK with me. Breakfast was average and cost € 12 per person, but restaurants and cafés nearby also serve breakfast. Taxi from Orly € 25 and 15 minutes drive. Budget transport from Orly is Bus 285 + Metro 7, which should take less than an hour. All in all excellent value for money, and I would recommend the hotel to anyone, except perhaps families with children, due to the room size.

Great location, nice surroundings. The only thing I didn't like was the shower: tiny little, no shelf to put your stuff (not that it would fit in there) and worst of all: curtain. Otherwise it's a nice place, and good value for money.

By European standards, quite a spacious hotel room for the price we paid (110 Euro/night in early July). Clean and comfortable. OK, the not-too-unusual European lack of shower curtains, but c'est la vie. Good location, nice staff. Cheap wireless from the hotel (and free from the park from behind the hotel during park opening hours). I'd use them again.

Hotel Acte V may be on the very busy Rue Monge, but in a great neighborhood. Plus, if you're lucky to get a room facing the back, you look out only an old coliseum called, Arènes de Lutèce, that is one of the few traces left of Paris's Roman heritage. It's a 10-15 minute walk north into St. Germaine and the Ile de la Cite, or you can walk west and get to the Jardin du Luxembourg very quickly, but walk the other way, away from the city, and within 5 minutes you'll quickly find yourself in a much more residential part of Paris (South), or in the Jardin du Plants (East). Across the street are steps that lead up to a walking street called Rue Rollin that will bring you to a lovely little square off of Rue Mouffetard within 5 minutes (something we didn't realize until the end of our stay). And there's also a market just up the street at Place Monge that was there at least 2 times during our 6 days there. We stayed at a much quieter place in the 7th Arrondisement previous to our stay at Hotel Acte V, and although we enjoyed our stay there, this area had much more energy. By choosing to stay a few minutes away from the center we got a better rate, and we felt like we were staying in a much more lived in part of Paris. Hotel Acte V does offer breakfast at 11 euros per person. It's a fine breakfast, but consider some of the bakeries just down the street on Rue Monge that are much cheaper and much tastier.

Hotel is located approx 10min walk to Notre Dame and is also very close to 2 underground stations. Room and bathroom size was small but average for European hotels of this rating. Lift was very small. One good restaurant a couple of doors away but most about 5 min walk.

Really great hotel for the price. Exceptionally clean rooms for Paris and in a fantastic location. It aws a really small room but for the price and in that location I was more than happy. Everything in th hotel was modern and clean, the staff were helpful and friendly and it has perfect access to all the vibrance of the left bank. Would stay again and would reccommend to anyone.

the price/quality is very good, apart from the lack of breakfast, which however seems to be a characteristic of Paris hotels. Everything was fine and I would strongly suggest to stay here; the only negative point was that the room was very hot and the blankets were very heavy and we could not have it replaced.

Wow! What a pleasant suprise! Having never used Venere before, and given the affordibility of the hotel, I was anxious as we arrived. The hotel -- location, staff, and rooms -- all exeeded my expectations. Great neighborhood for walking, dining and absorbing Paris. Spacious rooms -- for Paris -and well decorated. We will definately be back again and recommend others to Act V.

I have traveled all over the world for business & leisure and I loved this hotel. The room was very comfortable, the staff was friendly, and the view of the street from my room was wonderful. To an American unfamiliar with European hotels, the room I had (double w shower) will seem small, but I found it equal or better to other European boutique hotel rooms in terms of space. Only the shower was cramped (too small to bend over to pick up soap). The lobby was a great place to relax with comfortable chairs & chess sets. I didn't try breakfast as it was overpriced relative to what one could get at the bakery down the street. The hotel was easy walking distance to Rue Mouftard, the market, and all of the places that I wanted to go (e.g., Musee national du Moyen Age). Easy access to the metro. Shuttle service to the airport is an additional charge, but not expensive & on-time. Very quiet except for mild street noise. A/C didn't really cool the room (seemed to be just a problem with my unit), but the windows worked well (except for noise). Other guests included families, business people, young couples, elderly tourists, etc. Everyone was very low key. Next time I will get a room with a bath, as the shower was tiny. Overall, exactly what I wanted in terms of location and quality!! This hotel was a key part of my wonderful first trip to Paris. I would recommend this hotel to everyone and will definitely stay here again.
