The room is really shabby and dark. Moreover, the smell in the room is not pleasant.

This was my first stay at this hotel and while not within walking distance to the main attractions, there is a metro station conveniently located a few blocks away. Because of the location of the hotel and the subway line it was closest to, getting to most of the sights usually required one tranfer but the trains run very frequently and the Paris metro system is fantastic! There were several good cafes nearby as well as an excellent pastry/bread shop a block away. Will definetly consider staying here again on my next visit to Paris and recommend it to anybody looking for a clean, comfortable room in a quiet part of town for a reasonable price. The hotel staff also was very friendly and accomodating!

Hotel is a good, clean budget hotel. Actually the bed we had in our room was very confortable. The room is not the largest but it will be fine for two adults (double room). The washroom has everything you need however it is a little tight (we didn't have a problem with it but if you are a big person, you might have an issue). The Staff is very friendly and helpful. Also the hotel is approx. a 10 minute walk from Bastille area that has a lot of nice restaurants & bars. Overall, would recommend this hotel for the budget-minded traveller (looking for a well located, clean, low cost hotel)

we have stayed here several times. The hotel staff are friendly and its a great area. The rooms are a bit drab but very comfortable and nice and warm in winter. Last time we had a room not qute as good as usual looking out to the back but then a jazz band started rehearsing. It was just perfect. The local grocer shop sells nice wine and will open the bottle for you..

The welcoming received @ the Grand Hotel Nouvel Opéra in Paris has been extremely warm and friendly. Expecially all the receptionists I spoke to treated me with such good manners that really pleased me. The room was clean and spacious and the bathroom was really clean. For the price I paid, I can say without a doubt, that I received and excellent service from this hotel. I recommend it to anybody who is thinking about spending some time in Paris! Next time I will travel to Paris, this Hotel will be the place where I will stay.

We did stay in this hotel for 4 nights. Only thing what disappointed was the quietness of rooms. U can hear what people talk in neighbouring room.

We got there late in the evening and instead of a twin room, which we had reserved, we got a double room with a child bed. The room we got was extremely small and uncomfortable and the bathroom the smalles one I have ever seen! The next day we made a complaint asking for our twin room and they were nice enough to change it. Location next to Bastille, near metro station.

We were really impressed by the reception and their help. Wonderful people and extremely polite and helpful. Our only comment was that although on the web the rate was for a double room, when we got there we saw that it was for a single. It is big enough for two people, but certainly not as comfortable as an actual double.

The hotel is in some way`s value for money, thoug it should be SOME single rooms awailable. For two persons its exellent value for money, for one person it`s not so good deal. Overall, a good hotel in a very pleasant area

Compared to other hotels in Paris, this one is actually very affordable. But if you are looking for comfort, then this hotel is something to think about. Although the receptionists were very knowledgable and helpful (they even speak english), I find it very difficult to stay comfortable in this hotel. Aside from their very small rooms, and what appears to be, a two-person elevator, the hotel lacks one very important equipment for the summer: an airconditioner. It was extremely hot in our hotel room, to the point where we had to sleep with our balcony door open--which was a huge risks for possible robbery, considering that the rooms were right next to each other that you can easily hop on to the next room through the window. The safe box was also non-functional, and the hotel location is not very close to the metro station. The nearest metro station is about a 10-minute walk, but I don't recommend carrying your luggages with you. It's very noisy at night, but when you are really tired from all the walking during the day, I'm sure the noise of cars while your balcony door is open is the least of your concern. I probably wouldn't come back to this hotel, but if you are an adventerous type who seeks a place and a bed to sleep on after a long journey in Paris at an affordable price, then this hotel is for probably for you.

Excellent price/quality ratio. A perfect option for a few cheap days in Paris. Well communicated with the underground. My overall is 9/10. El balanç qualitat/preu és excel·lent. Una opció perfecta per uns quants dies a la ciutat de l'amor. Està molt ben comunicat amb el metro. 9/10.

The Hotel Grand Nouvel Opera, is in Paris which is definetly a plus, the price wasn't too bad. It is close to two metro stops the Ledru-Rollin Metro and the closest which is the Voltaire stop. For the most part the employees were friendly. They say that reception is open all night, and it is, but there is one guy who gives people a hard time about going out, I think it's because he wanted to sleep. But you get is what you paid for.

Paris is an expensive city, there's no denying that, so as far as cheap accomodation goes this hotel is what you would expect. It's not value for money, but it's good enought as a place to crash at the end of a long day. A few points - there is absolutley nothing 'Grand' about the hotel so don't be swayed by the name. The rooms are small and basic. The bathrooms may come as a shock and could do with a good scrub and a lot of mould-removal but they are bearable. It's just up the road from an excellent public bus line that goes directly to Bastille and the Luvre so there is no problem in getting to major sites or to good places to eat. Don't bother paying the extra 7 euro for breakfast - all you get is a pre-packaged croissant and juice and coffee. It's a rip-off and you are much better off doing as the locals do and stopping at a bakery or cafe for a coffee and baguette. All in all, a reasonable solution if you're on a budget in Paris.

I shared one room with my friend. I checked in first and during my absence my friend arrived. The receptionist gave my friend a key for the other persons room. It was a bad experience. If the same thing happens to you...

You've got to remember how much you're paying, it's not the Ritz, but it's where you want to be, it's clean-ish and it's cheap. The staff are friendly (which makes a change in Paris)and as most low budget places, the bits that are wrong either make you laugh or cry, we laugh...it's safer in the end.

I stayed for five days in Paris at this hotel because I was making a tour on Europe, I tried to take as less things as I could, so when the second day I asked the reception to give me shampoo and soap, they tell me that they just give that for the first day (so buy it, the room was noty cleaned very well, you can observe it in the bathroom. The personnel was quite good guiding you through the city

I think it is a good price for what you are getting... most hotels in same price range dont offer pivate bath in so we really liked that! Might be good for owners to suggest which is the closes metro stop to the hotel...i walked a while to get to this but realised i coud have saved 20 minutes with luggage if indicated!

The night watchman was very impolite. The price for breakfast to high. You can find near the Hotel a bakery and a Mc Donald for a warm Coffe/Tee/Milk. This will cost 6€ for two people and in the Hotel it costs 6€ per person and you didn't had enough to eat after it.
