Wonderful boutique hotel. Amazing staff! Very friendly and helpful. Very modern room and bathroom. A bit small for North American standard but this is Europe! Close to 2 metro stations. For a nice meal, try LA DAME BRUNE. Cozy restaurant about 10 minutes walk. 80-85 euros with drinks and wine. Worth the stop! Many restaurants and bakeries within minutes walk. We paid 115 euros/night through this site for a 6 nights stay. Free WiFi worked very well. AMAZING price/value! Would definitely go back and recommend this hotel to any one visiting Paris! A true gem!

I received a superior room for regular price. Friendly and competent service, good value for Paris.

Overall, this hotel offers an excellent value. We stayed in the largest room (13), which was comfortable, clean, convenient, and not too expensive. The staff is perhaps the best part: very friendly, responsive, and helpful (Ziad is a great host). The location is fine, not great (1 block from a metro stop or 3 blocks from Nation). As the elevator can be crowded/slow in the AM, I recommend a lower floor to walk down. Also, good restaurants close by (e.g. Tete a Toto). Safe, easy luggage storage upon check-out. As a light sleeper, I was not bothered by the slight weekend noise from the street; plus, it has a comfortable bed. As breakfast was a bit crowded, take coffee and a few rolls back to your room!

Many small hotels in Paris are expensive and poorly maintained. This was an excellent little find. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I heartily recommend this hotel.

Excellent rooms (albeit a bit small) that are reasonably quiet and have beautiful interior decoration. The employees are friendly and English-speaking. Looking back, there were only two tiny problems: 1. Internet access is free, but you have to ask the staff for a new password every 24 hours. 2. My laptop uses the European three-pin plug, but the room only had European two-pin outlets, making it impossible to recharge my laptop. Overall, I recommend Grand Hôtel Français.

First time in Paris. The staff were excellent and room was adequate. The lack of shower facilities was abysmal. No holder on the wall to affix the hose on the bath and no shower curtain, bath was tiny. No tea coffee making facitliies. The noise of drilling was a constant early morning and throughout the day. Breakfast seemed pricey and everything buffet, nothing hot. Very clean and welcoming, a pity about the lack of other simple facilities. Wouldn't go back there.

A very pleasing experience overall. Hotel has benefited from some refurbishment, with modern sound-insulated windows. My only criticism is a fairly minor one, which is that the carpet in my room was quite worn and due for replacement. Nevertheless, good value for money, nice area and excellent staff.

I was satisfied with my stay and the comfort of the hotel. It was clean and tidy.Staff were very friendly and helpful. I was disappointed that there were no facilites in the room to make a hot drink. A kettle and cups would have been useful, although we were given some hot water when requested. Our stay was for 3 nights.

Not exactly where we thought it was but closer to Rue de Boulets than Nation. They should show Nation on their map as to how to get there. Helpful staff.

We stayed in room #1 which is small, faces a side street and is fairly noisy with car and pedestrian traffic. We didn't spend the 8€ on breakfast since all we wanted was a 2€ croissant. The metro stop next to the hotel was closed, so it became inconvenient to go to/from hotel to any other parts of the city. The staff overall was very friendly and helpful, and the room was clean.

Big room for Paris very friendly and helpful staff on reception.plenty of good eating places nearby.District not too touristy and Metro stations very close by.each time we go to Paris we choose a different hotel but would certainly come back to this one.

I was single traveler. It was overall comvinient hotel for me . 25m from asubway station. Double bed room was no extra space other than a bed.Bathroom was broad. Desk was enough for using laptop. Meeting with coffee and beer were available in ground floor public space. Breakfast was excellent in 10euro.So, It was fitted for my needs.

An ok place to stay. Room was kept very clean although it was a bit frayed around the edges. Minor quibbles were no fridge in the room and that breakfast was an extra 10 euros per day; which seemed a little steep when all I wanted was a roll and a cup of coffee. There is however a small supermarket opposite which was convenient and much better croissants could be found just a short walk away. Although this hotel initially appeared to be in a quiet corner of the city, the noise from the road outside was repetitive and quite intrusive throughout the night. Would be a lovely hotel if it wasn't for the noise.

This is a brilliant hotel for the money with excellent staff. The only thing I can fault it on is the road (and to lesser extent the metro) noise. In summer you need the windows open (it gets hot in the rooms otherwise, no air-con) and if you are a light sleeper like me you will find it difficult to get any sleep. Because of this, I would say this hotel is the perfect choice for the cooler months. Highly Recommended.

Hotel staff could not have been more helpful. Good location for metro and walking distance to excellent evening bar and restaurant area (Bastille). Rooms basic but spacious enough and cleaned daily. Room was a bit noisy as on main road, however good quality accomodation at excellent price. Highly recommended and would stay here again.

This hotel is good value for your money. We stayed there in July 2005. One of the reasons we chose this hotel was because of the good reviews on venere.com, as well as its location close to Gare Leon (we needed to catch an early train the next morning). Overall we were satisifed with our stay. The prices is very low compared to what you'd pay in the tourist belt. The flipside to this is that the neighborhood around the hotel isn't so great. I'd worry about walking about late at night in this area (some of the people around seemed a bit suspicious, and there is graffiti on the wall across the street). It seems more of an average residential neighborhood than the ritzy touristy areas of paris. There are quite a number of restaurants around the hotel, making it easy to find food. The receptionist provided us a map. There is also a grocery stall just across the road on the left, but we found that the selection wasn't great and that some of the fruit were rotting. this gives you some idea of the area surrounding the hotel. The reception staff was very friendly and helpful. The room itself was fine: clean and comfortable. but a bit in need of a facelift. The bathroom was okay but a bit dark. Indeed, the lobby/entrance seemed much nice than the room. But we don't have any complaints. Everything was functional and clean and there were two elevators which was better than some other paris hotels where you have to lug your luggate up and down stairs. Would we stay there again? Yes simply because of the low price and the friendly staff.

great experience. Stasff was cheerful and helpful, particularly Zyad. Location was great as it was near the Nation metro stop. The tube ran near the hotel making it loud at times but not unbearable.

Lovely hotel - the staff were really helpful at all times and very friendly (especially towards my 3 yr old nephew). The hotel is on a busy boulevard, about 5 mins walk from Nation and about 15 mins walk down to Bastille. There are plenty shops and restaurants around and we found the location particularly good for visiting Disneyland Paris (Nation is on RER line A which takes you straight there). All in all, a lovely hotel and I would stay there again on my next visit to Paris.

This hotel was a very friendly and welcoming hotel, the rooms were clean tidy and warm, nicely so, when we were there on a cold March weekend. My only slight complaint is that the cupboard and draw space in the room were minimal. But the room itself was kept well maintained and cleaned on a daily basis. The reception staff were very helpful, friendly, had excellent english language skills for international clients and were able to advise on local restaurants and amenities. All in all we had a very nice short break in Paris based in this hotel

This was the best place we've ever stayed in Paris. The staff was extremely helpful and had everything ready in our room including an extra bed for our 4 year old daughter and a cot for our baby. We definitely plan to use the hotel in the future. Thanks!

Our stay in Paris was very good. We had a lovely stay. The hotel was as expected, exept that breakfast was not included in the price. We got a litle bit surprised, since the prise was 10 euro pr meal, pr person!. Overall it was a lovley stay, an we will come back to Paris.

The hotel was in a great location, close to the 'Nation' Metro with connections to all over this beautiful city. The staff could not be more helpful, spoke fluent English, and didn't mind you bringing back your own bottle of wine to enjoy in the room. They gave good recommendations re local restaurants and how to get to the city's attractions. Although the rooms are not spacious, they are adequate for a city break. The rooms are warm, cosy and cleaned daily. Well worth the money.

The Hotel was clean and cosy, and the staff always friendly. They are conveniently positioned between two metro stations in an interesting boulevard leading to the Pl. de Republique. There are lots of cafes, shops, etc. in the area. Even though it is not in the heart of the centre it is so easy to get around and we enjoyed our stay thoroughly!

Hotel was easy to find as it was easily recognisable from the photos. It's also only 50m from the Metro stop Rue de Boulets. The welcome was very friendly and the staff spoke good English. I would stay here again if i came back to Paris.

Buona accoglienza e prezzo decisamente interessante, ma camera piccola praticamente senza armadi dove appoggiare i vestiti.

The Hotel is a short metro ride out of the centre, but was not a problem due to the reduced rates. Some cheaper restaurants can be found in the 'Nation' area as well. The hotel staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. It really made the difference. Rooms are small but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was an extra €10pp on top of the room rate. Overall a very enjoyable stay.
