I returned to stay again because of my positive experience the first time and its practical location. Glad to say I was not disappointed. It's not a super fancy place, but everything is in good order. The room I had this time seems a bit tight with two twin beds in it, but the bathroom is quite spacious. Wireless internet connection (free) worked. At EUR130 a night (incl breakfast) in the centre of Paris, that's a pretty decent deal.

Everything was as promised. Wonderful location, which made our 3 nights in Paris very enjoyable. Rooms were as pictured and staff were helpful and attentive.Enjoyed the convenience of the breakfast which was included in the price, although more enjoyable out in the cafes on the streets.

The hotel reception staff are excellent. They were always helpful with any questions and would go out of their way to help us. The breakfast is standard European and was more than adequate. We were happy with what was provided for breakfast. The room we had was very quiet and the size of the room was as expected - small but very clean and presentable. We had a very small balcony which I thought was great as we could stand out there to see the view - roof tops of Paris and Sacre Coeur. Loved it! The location of the hotel was fantastic - so close to The Louvre, and within a couple of hundred metres shopping if you want and lots of restaurants! I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wanted to be close to the Louvre!

The hotel was nice, but I'm not pleased with the fact that they made a withdrawal from my credit card - holding the amount for 2 weeks - without announcing it to me - especially since it says that payment shall be made upon check-out day, which I did - in cash! I have complained to the hotel, but no answer has been given! I'm quite dissapointed about that!

I was meeting friends in Paris for the weekend and buying gloves at Denise Francell as I do evey 6 months, and couldn't have found the BEST hotel! From CDG to hotel by train with only one simple transfer and right to the front of the hotel yet tucked away in a way that was private but across from the Louvre!!! THE BEST HOTEL VALUE IN THE 1st ARRONDISEMENT!!

The staff was helpful, knowledgeable and very kind. the rooms, although small (but we don't care), were clean and felt somewhat new (instead of cracks and that musty feeling). The area was of course exceptional. The Louvre was literally across the street as was the subway so we could get anywhere. wonderful area wonderful hotel but the staff really made it that much more of a good hotel

A bit of a splurge, but high marks for value. I understand that the Grand Hotel du Palais Royal's rack rate for our rooms is a lot higher and that full breakfast is usually not included. We loved the location, about a block and a half from the Carrousel entrance to the Louvre, just steps from the charming courtyard (a quiet, secluded place to jog, if you're into that) of the Palais Royal itself, and around the corner from the Comedie Francaise. Through the archway of the adjacent Place du Valois, you can see Galerie Vero Dodat. The desk was very friendly and helpful with directions, information, and airport transfer. We stayed on the deuxieme etage, and therefore we hadn't much of a view, but we could open French doors to the balcony for fresh air. Juices, cheeses, yogurt, do-it-yourself eggs-in-the-shell, croissants, baguette, toast, pastry, cereals, hot chocolate, tea, and great coffee (included in the "B&B special") made for a great way to start the day. I had hoped to discover little neighborhood cafes for my morning coffee and croissant, but it would be hard to beat this in-house breakfast for convenience. Despite what it said online, the hotel does offer Internet access and WiFi (good reception near the elevator), and it's complimentary in the lobby. (If the desktop in the lobby is taken, ask if you can use the one behind the desk.) The efficiently furnished rooms aren't huge, but they suffice. The only real noise came from a couple of rambunctious tykes playing on the stairway early one morning.

A nice cozy hotel in the heart of Paris, just a few steps away from the Palais Royal metro. The hotel is on a quiet street, so no problem with noise. The décor is simple, but the room is comfortable (love the wooden floor!) I got a B&B rate for two nights (=EUR 155 per night), so I think it's pretty good value considering the central location. The only 'problem' I had was WiFi connection in the room - one day was fine, the next day was too weak to connect. Other than that, it was a nice stay.

Location was just great!! only a minute to Musee du Luvre and 15-20 minutes to Orsay or cityhall by foot!! Moreover, the hotel is close to metro station. I might stay there again bcuz they offered me a reasonable price. Things U gotta know b4 U choose this hotel!! they don't have a fridge in rooms, so I put some foods out on the tiny little terrace. :p And the recognizable space... not to play a catch ball but enough to get rest.

We got exactly what we were expecting and opted not to have breakfast thanks to the reviews on Venere. We had a great view from our balcony of the rooftops, the location was perfect and the free use of the internet in the lobby a bonus. The only negative was the thin walls, which made it possible to clearly hear our neighbours - the singing in the shower wasn't so bad, but later at night their argument woke us up and kept us awake until we told them (through the thin walls) to be quiet.

Grand Hôtel du Palais Royal was a great experience. From our balcony we could see the Louvre to the left and Sacre Cour to the right. The rooms are big (for Europe) and very clean. The bed was extremely comfortable. The seperate bathroom was a surprise. It was massive with a proper shower - we had expected a bath with a hand held shower. The hotel was in walking distance to great cafes and shops. The Metro was nearby as well. Eiffel Tower was eight euro by taxi. The staff were so wonderful and welcoming. We really don't have a single criticism of the hotel. They even let us change rooms so we could be higher up and have a better view of the Paris rooftops! Great for couples and I would also say great for older travellers who want to see the sights of Paris. And there's a great cafe around the corner that serves a cheese and ham platter that you must try!

Wonderful hotel!!! It was a splurge, a little expensive for a student budget, but it was well worth it. Our first night we had a room with a view, ohh, the Eiffel Tower is magnificent at night! We decided to stay a second night and the staff was very helpful, and the luggage storage was an excellent bonus, considering many hotels don't have that!!! I would definately stay there again!!

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the hotel and the value for money. The Venere.com price was half the regular rate. The location was brilliant. Next door to The Louvre. I chose this hotel because of its proximately to the Louve and it was perfect. The elevators worked and the location for buses etc was very good. I would stay at this hotel again. This was one of the few hotels in Paris that I got what I thought I was going to get for the money I wanted to pay. Nice people in the reception and the breakfast room. Buffet breakfast was very nice, a little expensive but convenient. E-mail checking was difficult as only one computer and no time limit on the gests use. Front counter staff ordered all my taxies etc and looked after us very well. This was my best hotel experience in Paris after many many tries. I do not usually fill in these type of things, I pay my money and move on, but this one deserves a good rating.

Amazing central location right next to Metro stop and the Louvre. As I booked early I got a deluxe room (401) which is a large corner with huge bathroom (complete with tub and french doors opening onto the balcony). The only issue were noisy neighbours so soundproofing was not as I would have liked. Staff were extremely helpful and ensured a fabulous stay.

You can't get a better location!--steps away from the metro, the Louvre, and of course the Palais Royal. Very short walk to the Tulieries. This hotel is also slightly tucked away along a small side street, so it's extremely quiet. We had a view of the Tour Eiffel from our room and a small balcony, both pleasant surprises. The front desk staff were all very friendly and helpful and gave us excellent service. The only minus was that our room was extremely tiny, but despite this it suited our needs and was clean and in good condition.

First of all, I would like to thank Venere for offering such a great deal! Our trip was unforgettable! The Hotel is located approximately 50 meters from the metro station! And to reach Louvre you only need to cross two roads! The map provided by Venere was excellent, we could easily find the hotel. The staff was very professional, welcoming and nice! The price for the people who would like to book their room on the spot was much higher than the one quoted by Venere! The hotel is situated on a quiet street, and you need to make only 20 steps to reach a big street with fancy stores, cafes, etc. We could go to most of the attractions on foot! We didn't eat breakfast, so cannot comment on this - there are so many cozy cafes around that we wanted to try food in as many places as possible! The only disadvantage was the size of the room - VERY small, but as people have already mentioned here, it's just the way it is in Paris. But our overall impressions is PERFECT! We will need to return to Paris, since its unbelievable romantic atmosphere tempts us to do so. And when we come back, our choice will be Hotel Grand Hôtel du Palais Royal!

This is a great hotel to stay at if you are wanting easy access to the Louvre and the sights in Paris. Easy access to the Metro and trains, many good places to eat and shopping. The only downfall was the guy that was at the desk at night. He was not interested in helping us at all which I chalk up to the fact that we are Americans. The day staff was awesome, did not show any indication of dislike due to our nationality, they were very helpful and very pleasant. The night desk guy was down right rude. So I would say stay here because it is a very nice and clean hotel. We would stay here again.

We use to spend one weekend per year in Paris. This time we tryed this hotel near Louvre and Grand Palais and were very happy with our choice. Of course hotel rooms are always very small in Paris but the impressions we got from the pictures in venere.com were absolutely correct. The whole hotel seems to be new or completely refurbished - the rooms incl. the bath rooms were very good. We will come back!

The online price was unbeatable! They were charging walk-ins almost twice what we were paying. The hotel is VERY clean they fluff your pillows everyday and the hotel is 24 hour access (buzz in after midnight). The bathrooms is squeaky clean as well. The breakfast is a little pricey for what it was but Paris is expensive period. The staff was very helpful and a few of them spoke English. The hotel did not have 5 star accomodations but if all you need is a clean bed and clean bathroom with towels and soap may I add, and an awesome location (across the street from the Louvre) for a reasonable price this is the place. I enjoyed my first stay in Paris.

While this was the most expensive hotel we stayed at during our Europe trip, it appeared to be excellent value in comparison with other Parisian hotels advertised on Venere and other hotel room search engines. It was quiet, modern, and clean. Rooms were adequate although limited in space, and had a large modern bathroom. It is in a great location next to the underground and the Lourve, but on a very quiet street corner. It was very easy to get to from Orly Airport on the Orlybus and then one underground line direct to the Lourve stop. There were lots of nice bars and eateries within a short walking distance, and a good cafe on the adjacent corner. We walked to most of the major attractions from this hotel. Breakfast was not included but available for an additional cost - we had the coffee only and can say it was as good as it gets. The only real issue with this hotel was that no English was spoken. I would have expected a basic command of hotel english from the staff, given the location and quality of the hotel. This makes it somewhat difficult for travellers from every country but France, given most people learn English as their second language. Not even words like KEY, DOUBLE ROOM were understood. It was thus impossible to ask questions relating to the sites of Paris, what was a good place to eat nearby etc. My hotel card was stolen while I was in a Paris bar and it was very difficult to communicate this to the hotel staff as French is not one of the languages I speak. Despite the difficulty in communication I eventually got the message across, and they were very kind to issue a new card without charge - 5 stars for that!

The location of this hotel is its strongest point, the rooms were clean and quiet. Bathroom was completely new. The picture does suggest a bigger room, but albeit you are there to enjoy Paris not the room. Excellent location! 2 min walk from the Louvre.
