You get what you pay for. The hotel staff was helpful, the room tidy and the location, overall, good. We were close to the train station (Gare de l'Est) and metro, which made it easy to get around the city. Downside: the building is old, the floors uneven, and the lift should not be used if you are even slightly claustrophobic. It was great for a first visit to Paris, but I do not think I would choose this hotel again in the future.

I stayed here one weekend at the beginning of November(2011) with my mother and teenage daughter. Good Points: It was very close to the Gare de l'Est station which meant it was very convenient for access to the main attractions of Paris. Staff at the hotel were helpful. Bed linen and towels were spotlessly clean and fresh. Soap and sachets of shower gel/shampoo supplied. Plenty of restaurants around. There's even a McDonalds near the hotel for young travellers. Appearance: As others have said, the floor in the bedrooms are a bit sloped - the building is probably quite old. The bottoms of doors were worn, probably from being pushed against the sloping floors. Points to note: The traffic is quite loud. There are a lot of vehicles passing by and, as stated already, the hotel is very close to Gare de l'Est. Sirens and traffic noise continued throughout the nights I was there(Fri/Sat/Sun). In order to leave the windows open I had to wear earplugs. I live in a rural area though so maybe city dwellers would be more used to the noise of traffic. The hotel charges for Wifi (€2 per hour, although I think I got about 3 hours for my €2). The surrounding area isn't the most pleasant in Paris, but it's certainly not the worst either. All in all this is budget accommodation and suits the budget traveller. (It would not be my choice for a romantic getaway.)

We could hear the voice of our next room but they were not really disturbing, I think it depends on what kind of people they are. Enough blankets and extra pillows in the wardrobe, towel was changed every day.Old but clean room. Cleaning staff didn't take our tip on the pillow and left it on the night table. Just few steps to Gare de l'Est, many bistros and a super market nearby. Good for travellers who doesn't need any luxury.

The Hotel was just opposite Gare de l'est, so that was very convenient, overall the location was not too far from many locations if you don't mind walking for a bit. I got a single room, which was quite small, but adequately facilitated. Most staff was friendly and helpful(all the females were but one male). Breakfast and internet wasn't included. Guests were not allowed after 10pm. But again overall it wasn't bad.

Furniture definetely poor, bathroom with space enough but a little bit aged, only one AC plug in the room. WIFI not for free. Room really silent altough on main road. Excellent position and right price for short staying. We didn't tested Breakfast because it's too expensive (8€ a person ,more than 1/4 of room fare) In general, Hotel can be suggested to friends but specifying all the aspects.

Our bedroom was huge, with clean and good beds. The bathroom was clean and the shower was very good. We have two children (13 and 8 years old) and used the Hotel just to sleep: indeed, we walked around Paris all day long. The Hotel is well located, close to Gare de L´Est metro station. The Schmid Bakery has excellent croissants with great prices. It can be an optimal alternative to the breakfast. The internet must be paid (extra charge - 2EUR/h) and could be included in the room price. We would come back there certainly.

We paid for a quadruple room. On the first night we were given 2 double rooms. On the second night, without informing us, our room was changed to a quadruple one and our belongings were moved! We returned to find that our previous keys did not work and other people were in our rooms! The night clerk told us we did not insert the keys properly. Then he said we had been moved but did not know where are belongings were and did not seem to care. The woman that tended to the breakfast that was offered was unfriendly, unkind and seemed very annoyed and bothered when we went to breakfast. She also talked about us to a colleague in French and mocked us! Overall, while we did not allow this to mar our trip, it did have a significant effect on it. The heat could not be controlled. The rooms were extremely tiny. There was not enough hot water to shower in the morning and they did not provide wash cloths. VERY poor hotel in general.

Personal vacation, traveling with 2 girlfriends, stayed in a triple room for 2 nights. Spacious room with 1 double and 2 single, wardrobe, desk and table/chairs, bath with adequate shower. Windows opened to street which is pretty noisy but when they are closed it blocked out the noise very well. The floors were very uneven, but it is an older building and not a deal breaker. Internet cost extra 4 euro for 2 hours or a 24 hour option was available, can't remember cost. Elevator is basically as others have said, very small 1 person with baggage, more of a novelty for us, we were on 1st floor up so not a problem to use stairs. Front desk helpful, fairly good English spoken. As others have said, a big bonus was being very close to the subway. Convenience stores nearby, bakery and restaurants, (sex shop too, not visited). A very adequate hotel for our needs, probably not for someone expecting a 4 star Hilton kind of place. We did not do breakfast at hotel as we wanted to get moving in the mornings and just grabbed coffee and croissants on our way sightseeing.

This hotel was well located, not far from all forms of transport. The staff was very friendly, helpful and spoke good English. The quadtrouple room was not as spacious and we thought it would be. The floor in the bedroom was very uneven. The Tables in room where very old and on there last legs. we had some difficulity slleping the first few nights as the noise from the traffic outside was a little loud. To conclude, overall l would recommend this Hotel to people who are on a tight budget, as the location of the Hotel makes up for all these problems. Also when ordering water with all meals in resturant etc, do not order mineral water as it will set you back anything from 4-6 euros. there tap water tastes just as good. Enjoy your hoilday.

It is loud around the hotel at night, so if you like quiet, should probably stay outside of the city. The hotel is conveniently located, there is a bus stop right in front, train station a block away, restaurants, etc. staff is nice, helped me out with how to get to the airport since the trains weren't running that day. they didn't know where the tourism office was though (it's in the train station). Rooms are decent sized for Europe. I would stay there again.

Comfort of hotel was basic, hardly worth the 3 star rating with very old and tired furnishings especially the carpet and furniture. No fridge, no minibar, and no kettle or sachets of tea or coffee. Room was on 1st floor right above a bar which played loud music until past 3am so not a great night's sleep!!

On the positive side, the hotel is in a very convenient location opposite the Gare de L'Est and the interior is clean & tidy. However, my single room was extremely small, and garishly decorated in shades of dark red. It is hard to see how a 3-Star rating is justified, and as such the price of over €50 does not seem particularly good value.

The location was very convenient but the room we were given was very small, hot and extremely noisy. The room was in the attic and it was essential for ventilation and cooling to leave a window open. This worsened the noise level. The room was not very well cleaned each day, in fact, we had to make do without towels on the last day.

We needed the quad room. It was spacious and the bathroom was very clean. The beds were sufficient. I had breakfast at the cost of 8Euro. It was good. And, It was nice not to have to leave the hotel on a rainy day. They let me leave my bags in the reception area while in Paris for the day. This place really shines as a layover point. A one minute walk on the left as you leave Gare l'est train station. The "Metro" or subway stairs is 40meters to the right as you leave the hotel. Buses all around. If you are handicapped or just getting on in your years this is not your hotel. The lift or elevator is to small for a wheelchair! And, you have to go up stairs to get to it! You folks with little people. There is nothing for them to do here. Plenty of places to eat in walking distance. Ask the staff for recommendations. If this is your first trip to Paris. Learn the transportation system before you arrive. There are trains, there is the "Metro" or subway. There are buses, and there are taxis. Info is available on line. This will save you allot of money, time, and frustration. I love France and I hope you will too.

Room was small, and wallpaper was old and cracked. Also, I think we were put in the smallest room in the hotel (on 6th floor with sloped ceiling), even though there were probably larger double-bed rooms on lower floors in same price category. Seemed more like a 2-star room. But it wasn't a bad place to stay for the money and convenience (near Gare Est)--was clean and safe. The room worked well in Sept/Oct (when we could open window for ventilation). Would NOT recommeded in hot or cold months (no air conditioning and I've seen complaints about noisy raditors).

It's not a full service hotel and you wouldn't expect it at this price. The location is so close to both the train station (where we parked our car for 24 euros/day) and the Metro station (take 4 and then 6 to get to the Eiffel - pronounced ee-full tower). We were 4 and fit just fine in the quad room. 92.4 Euros/night was fair. Some mentioned noise, the windows sound proof the room well, but we initially had the windows open to air out the room a bit and closed them as the noise remained even after 1am. Door to hotel is locked at 1am, but the desk clerk opened the door at 1:15 to let us in, no problem. Floor wasn't level for our room, but once in the bed or seated, you don't notice. We used the room for sleeping and showering. Again very fair for the price.

The front desk receptionist was extremely warm and welcoming! She spoke great English and was very helpful! We stayed in a quad room and it was HUGE! The price was very reasonable for the location and size of room. Elevator was small, but steps were wide enough it wasn't a problem to carry luggage up. Windows were well insulated so street noise was not a problem. Very short walk from Gare de l'Est! Would highly recommend and definately stay here again!

We were two families, each made of 4 people. We stayed in Paris few days around new year's day. The hotel is very close to Gare de l'Est, and near to a metro station. So, it is easy to move and reach almost every part of the city. It is also easy to reach the Beaubourg and Les Halles by walking: we did it with our children the first day we arrived and, even though the immediate hotel surroundings are not so "turistic", that was a good approach to Paris. We stayed in two quadruple rooms and we found them clean and large enough to make our staying comfortable. Perhaps, furnitures would need some renovating. The breakfast room is small, but seemed to be sufficient to the hotel capacity (provided customers don't have their petit dejeunare in the same time...). Some employees speaked english and also tried to understand our italian: that made us feel at ease (also, it seemed not so easy to find local people eager to comunicate in languages other than france...).

The room floor is uneven and small. Noisy outside. This hotel needs a building renovation. Water leaks in bathroom floor, very small lift good for 1 person and 1 small luggage only. I only found 1 nice staff, the older white skinny female Parisian from the kitchen who gave me a Hotel card in case i run into trouble in town, she said. The breakfast spread is no good and not much choices so i opted to just go next door boullangerie. The front desk staff is not friendly. However, 122 Euro for 4 persons and 89 Euro for 2 is not bad. Next time, ill take the Ibis or the Mercure right next to the Gare De Lest.

The hotel was excellent, for the price and the location (the specific period). One think that they must change is the Breakfast, too much money for this quantity. AND the most important, Next renter, AVOID The first floor, because you are not going to sleep, except, if you like the karaoke. The hotel was very nice and very clean. The room was spacious for three people and the bathroom was the largest that I have had in a hotel stay in Europe. All the staff was very nice.

The hotel in my opinion is very expencive for the services offered. I guess it is hard to find beter hotel in Paris at that price, but as a whole it is too expencive. The hotel is lucking space everywhere. Rooms are small, with strange non-horisontal floor. The electricity plugs were a big problem for me - there was no european 2 holes only female electricity plug, so I did not manage to recharge my camera bateries.

There was one cleaning lady who was very nice, not like the stereotype. She was talking nicely to us every day when we passed her on our way out, even though we couldn't answer her in proper french. Very nice! The stay at the hotel was really worth the price we payed, thanks to the ability to make reservation on the internet.

I stayed in a triple room with two children. The location was great for metro (Gare de l'Est was on the doorstep) and bus services. You could also walk the short distance to Gare du Nord to catch a sightseeing bus. There were plenty of restaurants around. The only down side was that the streets were not as clean as I would have liked. I would definitely stay there again, because it was good value for money.

The hotel is near the main station and metro. Surrounding is a concern. We were expecting small room but it was spacious for four of us. Would reccommend others. Good value for the price.

The room is more suitable for a single rather than a triple room which I have booked. The furnishing is falling apart. The shower room door is broken and safer not to lock it. The cupboard should be in the musee, and is in rotting condition. There is no carpet but a piece from the tap and spray like a fountain when you tirn it on. Not even a kettle for making hot water. I will classify it as a 1 star hotel rather than 3 stars. A no go hotel.

Everything in Paris is overpriced so this was no exception. the room and hotel were a little run down but not that bad. Mostly the stay was just fine but the area the hotel was in was not so great. I did not feel comfortable walking around at night and there was really not much to walk around for. Very close to the metro stop though so getting from there to the hotel was no issue at all. I would recommend staying somewhere closer into the tourist area if possible, but if like us, you find nothing there available, this hotel is okay.

We were lucky that we got a discount price on the date as we went holiday in Paris. We found no difficulties finding the hotel because it is located beside a big street and very near to Gare de l'Est. The environment is nice, not too far from the center and although the traffic on this street is busy but perhaps because we stayed at 5th floor, we didn't hear any traffic noise from below. The hotel is clean, has a good service, towels were renewed every day. However the elevator space inside is tiny, only 2 persons can enter in the same time. Unfortunately the towel hanger in the shower is so small that one must put clothes on the floor or over door handle.

Camera piccola alla quale sono stati aggiunti 2 letti ... diciamo una quadrupla veramente risicata. L'albergo non è dei più puliti mi sembra cmq in linea per la cifra pagata

We found the Hotel very easily as it is quite close to the train station. We took the Eurorail from London. The room was quite small but clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and provided lots of information on Paris. The area was a little too far to walk to the sightseeing areas, but the train was close and very fast. If we returned to Paris we would spend the extra money to be closer to the city.

E' un piccolo ma accogliente albergo. Non è al centro ma è vicinissimo alla stazione del metro, è stato facilissimo arrivare e moverse in la cità.

Practical location if your needing to traval via Gare North or East (this made it quite easy to get to the Orly or de Gaulle airports). Was also a not too far but interesting walk to the Seine/Norte Dame etc. A few neighboring blocks had some rough city elements to it but overall felt safe. The room was actully very sound proof and of reasonable quality. Staff was help full and had an easy check-in/check out. Overall was satisfied and would return.

Very convenient for Gare de l'Est and Gare de Nord, but the traffic was horrendous because of roadworks.
