The best thing about the Concorde is its location. But for the price, there are much better hotels available. The Concorde does not have air conditioning and is on a busy street across from a cafe, so it is very noisy all night. It is in bad shape and in need of a major renovation. The beds were lumpy and uncomfortable. The bathroom had mold in the shower and the hair dryer didn't work. The night time manager was rude. I will not be visiting this hotel again. It is not a 3-star hotel.

This was not the first time i was Paris and honestly speaking, before last trip the quality of the hotels never satisfied me despite i always stayed in 4 star hotels. Booking not expensive 3 star hotel for the last trip was quite risky, but due to short stay i decided to take the risk :-) Nice surprise. Excellent location - walking distance to Louvre; Champs-Elysees; shopping areas. The room was small but very clean. Breakfast was good (not only croissant and coffee). Nice personal. Of course i cant say that this is a hotel of the dream, but relationship price/quality is for sure very fair, i saw more expensive hotels in Paris with really worse quality.

The toilet was not clean. The heating was cold, so we had to slip in trousers and long shirt. It was a terrible holiday at this hotel. At the reception were party `til 3 o´clock in the morning.

Location is right off main street, however the hotel itself is on a noisy street and has a cafe right across from it that apparently stays open most of the night. Rooms are much quieter if facing the inside court yard instead of the street. Staff was accomodating in willingness to change the room the second night of our 3 night stay to a quieter room. While polite, many of the hotel staff did not speak (or try to speak) English. Our attempts to speak French were apparently not successful as we never received the wake up calls requested. The location is close to the Lourve and Metro which was very convenient, however the hotel itself was very run down and in need up updating. The beds were hard and linens very rough. Would not recommend this to anyone else unless the hotel undergoes a renovation.

We have a lovely time at this hotel. We have traveled to Paris on the first weekend of July 08 and the property was really ok. We have been in Paris for 5 times and this hotel was ok according to the price on venere. The surroundings are incredible and the best of the offered. Only 1 minute to Place Concorde and Rue Rivoli. The room is very spacious. The only that was a little old was the lift (very very old) and the stairs. The curtains and the bed clothes wasn't very cute so but they were ok. The breakfast is expensive but all in Paris is expensive!!. I'd recommend this hotel to young couples maybe not to older people. Thanks for all.

The ONLY reason to stay at this dingy hotel is its location - close to most major attractions. The price is astronomical for the quality of accommodations. It was like living in an abandoned apartment block. The only saving graces was the decent breakfast (then again, how could one mess up croissants, cheese and coffee in Paris?). Tiny elevator takes you up to reception (difficult with baggage). There is no A/C and in the open windows lets in street noise - which is unbearable even at the dead of night because of proximity to major roads. Horrible experience.

Beware, this is one of the most terrible hotels I have been in. It is loud. If you have a room to the street you will have drunken people making noise till 2 in the morning and construction noise from 7:30. If you have a rear room you can watch the concierge cleaning the backyard from 7 in the morning. I had the honour to try both because I had to change the room in the middle of the week (though I booked it on Venere for the full time). The room service is sloppy. Empty rolls of toilet paper or exhausted shower gel will not always be replaced. Obviously they do not take notice. Instead they leave kinds of cleaning material in corners of the wardrobe or forget legacies of the previous guest. The good thing: they have a free Wi-Fi access. If it works. One night out of four it worked for me. But no need to complain when it does not work. They are not able to fix it and they do not see sufficient reason to call someone else to fix it. "Wi-Fi does not work." - "I know." - "The access point is there behind you. Could you just pull the power chord and plug it in again?" - "No, no. I will not touch it." The reception staff could try harder. Avoid.

Disappointing hotel. I have been happy with Venere hotels in the past but this one didn't measure up. It is accessed through the courtyard in an office building. I thought it would be quiet, but it was not. We were on the 5th floor and the elevator worked sporadically. Other clients complained about this. Our room had 4 beds!! (We did not ask for this). Beds were not very comfortable. Shower/bathroom was large by Paris standards. There was absolutely no effort to decorate the room - not a single picture, dresser...it felt institutional. Staff were not overly friendly, but they did their job. I would probably not stay here again.

This was a business trip and the hotel was 5 minutes from my destination in a quiet side street off rue du Rivoli directly opposite a Metro exit from Concorde. We were given attic rooms (6ieme etage)which were extremely large by Paris hotel standards with original oak beams and velux skylights. Very small lift (2pax max) which broke down but was fixed promptly. Very good bistro/bar directly opposite the hotel open till 12:30pm for late snacks or drinks.

We asked for a triple room, they gave us a 4 person room, very spacious. The staff was very friendly, and bilingual. The breakfast wasn't much, but it was convenient and included in our price, and they had a computer and free internet access in the little sitting area. The location was fantastic, a block from Place de la Concorde, walking distance to the Louvre, shops, etc. My only complaints would be a tiny elevator that could fit two people with no luggage, or luggage and no people. I ended up taking the stairs to our 5th floor room most of the time. Also, the last couple of nights, they had started some construction on that street, so there was some noise early in the morning, but for most of our stay it wasn't too bad. I didn't see any of the single or double rooms, I don't know how spacious they were, but ours was quite big. I'd stay there again.

This hotel was not the easiest to find as the entrance to the hotel is concealed from the main street and lies within a small courtyard. Look for the signs above to find your way!! The friendliness of the staff on duty was great always helpful and friendly. I cannot comment on the quality of catering at the hotel as I was out soaking in the sunshine and eating at the many cafes in the area. A really nice, centrally located hotel ideal for those who are looking for a comfortable room for which to use as a base of their Paris expedition!! Some lovely restraunts in the locale recommend to try them ALL!!!!

As soon as we arrived at the hotel, we were told that the rooms we booked have been canceled as they had a refurbishment work in the building. If they had known this they should have told us in advance. Very disappointing...

Our stay was quite POOR - mainly because WE WERE ROBBED! Literally! The safes in the rooms dont work so the staff told us to store our valuables in the hotels safe downstairs. After a couple of days we were told that our things (passports, travellers cheques, train tickets, plain tickets) were all stolen. Quite a difficult and costly situation as you can imagine. Really put a damper in our trip. Obviously an inside job. DO NOT TRUST THIS HOTEL AND DON'T STAY HERE! Learn from our misfortune.

The room was the atypical small Euro room with a full size bed and 2 feet on each side. House cleaning was excellent with the exception of some mildew in the shower. I was in Paris to tour - not to spend time in my room, so the limited space was not a problem for me as others report.

We travel to Paris at least 6 or 7 times a year on business, if you are looking for a clean place in an amazing location with an amazing pricing I would highly recommend this hotel. We stayed in room 62( an air conditioned room- triple) only downfall was it was on the 6th floor, however the elevator does go to the 5th floor. Minutes from the bus, the rue to riveli just seconds away... Stress Amazing Location!!! We will be back (please note breakfast separate) Highly recommend

We needed to book a place in a bit of a hurry, we wanted to be in the central part of the city and we were looking for inexpensive lodgings. We got all that. The rooms were large, clean and comfortable. There is no air conditioning – we were there the end of June and it was hot! The service was outstanding: I needed internet access at one point in time and the public computer was down and I was offered use of the hotel computer if the public one was not operable (it soon was) in the near future; we bought a picnic dinner and came back to the hotel and needed dishes, silverware and glasses – all promptly provided; we were allowed to leave our luggage until later in the day after checkout at no additional charge. The biggest complaint was the noise level in the room – we needed to have the windows open for the heat and the traffic noise was loud – even with the street below us blocked off every night (long story on why the street was blocked and the noise levels were still rather high). Great place to stay for cheap with kids in Paris.

It was a great location and reasonable price. We were a group of 3 and had a quad room which was very spacious. The decor is dated, and the carpet was patched in one place, but in general, it was clean and the beds comfortable. The staff were very pleasant. The price included a reasonable continental breakfast. It is on a side street just off rue de Rivoli and was suprisingly quiet. It's just a short walk to an entrance to the Concorde metro.

We were suppose to stay for 4 nights (June 1-5, 2005), but after walking in the room, my boyfriend and I looked at each other and said we will check out two days early. The bathroom's shower head was broke, but the rest of the bathroom/room was clean. We paid 100 euros per night....the room was worth 60 euros per night. The breakfast was nothing to write home about: bread (not fresh), canned mixed fruit, plain yogurt, and coffee/tea/OJ. One thing to mention is that the front desk staff/owner were exceptionally nice and spoke English. Although the room was clean, it felt a bit dark/dingy. It didn't help that we had to keep the curtain closed so the people across the street didn't see in. Out of the 7 other hotels I stayed in while in Europe, Hotel Concorde was the most disappointing....but that did not ruin our thoughts about Paris at all:) We absolutely loved the city. The hotel would be a great place to stay for 60 euros a night.

We had a surprise at our arrival, because they couldn't find our booking and they said the hotel was full, but after an hour they finally found it, so we had no real problem. Very good stay, wonderful location; clean, silent and large room; satisfying breakfast included in the price. From the other side, common spaces not large, and it's necessary to take an unconfortable elevator to reach the reception, 'cause it's at the third floor. Anyway, if you don't need luxury, it's a great hotel: we paied € 98 for double room, very good price for the centre of Paris, but I think the price is now higher.

This hotel, for its location, is hard to beat. You are within easy walking distance of so many places including the Lourve, Place de la Concorde, and Champs Elysse. The hotel itself contains the smallest elevator ever, so be prepared to walk up a few flights of stairs. I was located on the 6th floor, with the lobby on the 3rd. The triple room I was in was quite large, but the rooms were never cleaned (stayed three nights). For a bizarre reason, there was no shower curtain. Overall, for the price, I would say it is worth it, however, for the location it was great.

The room was very clean and very basic. The only thing not in working order was the hair dryer unit in the bathroom. But there was plenty of space and met our needs for basic comfort. We stayed at the Concorde for 3 nights - 3 people in one room. The rooms were quite large relative to other European rooms we had been in. The carpets were quite worn and torn in areas - I'd say the overall quality of the room is more of a 2 star than 3 star quality. The shower curtains were molding, however the sheets seemed clean. The breakfast was included but was nothing more than cold cereal (2 choices), limited choice of pastries, plain yogurt and coffee/juice. The elevator was EXTREMELY small - my suitcase alone would barely fit in there! The staff was exceptional - they were very helpful and friendly. And best of all - you can't beat the location. It is in the hear of Paris - 2 blocks from Concorde Plaza, 5 minute walk to the Louvre, and not too bad a walk from the Champs-Elleyse. Overall if you are looking for something reasonably priced in central Paris I'd recommend it. If you are looking for anything with some luxury this isn't the place for you.

Although the Residence Concorde provides an excellent location, the description is different than what we found on arrival. As a family paying for a triple room, we were surprised to find two twin beds and a cot. That was simply brushed off, when I inquired about the situation, and said that that was what they usually had in a triple room. However, that was not what I was told when I rang the hotel directly before our booking. The television was broken and was not repaired our entire visit. One had to ask more thank once for an iron, and there were no extras. The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the area and sights of Paris. I was promised a car to take us to the train station, only to find out the next morning that it was too busy of a morning (ie. raining) to call for one. We had to carry all of our luggage to another street and try to get one for ourselves!

The hotel is in a perfect location, close to the Louvre and a few steps away from the Concorde metro station and the Place de la Concorde. The personell was overall helpful. The first night the room was cold even though we turned the heating up to the max. In the morning when we reported the problem to the front desk, they said there's a switch on the heater that we had to push ourselves to turn the heater on. Once we knew, we were never cold the following days, but it would have been nice to get this information when we checked in. The breakfast (included in the price) was nice, they have pastries, bread, honey, milk, cereal, jam, coffee, tea, chocolate mix and juice. More than adequate. We saw 4 different people working at the front desk, they speak some English but not well enough to rule out misunderstandings with guests who don't master French, so if can't rely on your French, make sure you ask questions whenever in doubt about something and repeat their answer so that you're always on the same page. We were happy about our stay and will definitely recommend it. Excellent price/quality relation.

For the price, the overall hotel quality was lower than I expected, especially when compared to the same price point here in the Asia/Pacifc

Hi, For €130 approx it was quite expensive because the room itself needs upgrading. Also the shower curtain was filthy and that should be replaced. Regards, Noel.

Hotel with superb location in the centre of Paris, less than five minutes from the Louvre; really handy for walking to restaurants in St-Germain and close to the Concorde Metro station. We found the staff friendly and the prices were good value for the proximity to all major sights. One downside is the noise - being close to the Place de la Concorde, it can be very noisy. We were there in August and so had to make a choice between the noise of traffic and the extreme heat - NOTE: there is no air conditioning. We didn't find this a real problem, but it's something to bear in mind. It is a discount hotel and so you can't expect all the bells and whistles. We had a triple room, which was spacious enough, with an ensuite bathroom. Only problem with this was that the door didn't really shut properly and didn't lock, and the toilet seat was a bit loose. But these are minor problems. The location is great, there was no problem settling the bill at the end, and the little inconveniences were worth it to be in the centre of Paris for this great price. I recommend this hotel to you if you want a neat, well-positioned base for exploring Paris.

The staff and the location at the hotel made our stay at the Concorde very nice. Being close to a metro station allowed us to travel around the city as well. The rooms were spacious and were perfect for three American girls having fun in the city. The staff worked very hard to accomodate us and our lack of the French language!

The location is excellent, between Place Concorde and the Louvre near the metro. Meal prices are higher in the area due to proximity to tourist attractions. The manager was exceptionally helpful and even had flight information for various airlines. Entire staff was pleasant. We will definitely use this hotel again.

Competitive price, great location, friendly staff, adequate facilities ie room/shower etc and sufficient breakfast. Overall: a good choice of hotel to consider when visiting Paris.

Original room was an attic room with exposed beams but without telephone, mirror in bed area or headroom. Moved to much better room on floor below. The Venere rate appeared to be higher than the walkin rate which surprised me as I had thought that Venere was offering discounted rates. We liked the hotel, especially for the convenient location and the excellent service by the Desk person who gave his name as Mo-Mo.

For the price it was a great location and friendly staff (although some of them struggled with English -- but their English still wasn't as bad as my French). The rooms were small and not much more than a bed and a bathroom. But once again, for the price it's not bad.

The people at the reception were very friendly and helpful. The room was absolutely quiet at night. The location of the hotel is marvellous; the metro entrance/exit of line 1 is just across the street, and you can easily walk to the centre of the city from rue Cambon. A good choice for Paris;a typical French mid class hotel.

I was dissapointed with the room we were given. The beds were very uncomfortable and it was located on the fourth floor with a one person elevator that sometimes worked, sometimes didn't. The bathroom was tiny and smelled of urine and the windows were dangerous for little ones--we were on the fourth floor and the windows opened freely without a guard or screen--we constantly had to watch the kids to make sure they didn't go near the windows. They could have easily fallen out. The ventilation was poor due to the windows having to be closed, and though the breakfast was okay--two rolls and choice of coffee or juice, the service was not great. Though the older gentleman who greeted us was nice, the older french woman who sat at the desk in the afternoon was rude and would not call a taxi for us upon our departure. She told my husband "You must leave now". and she was very mean to my son--only four years old. I would not stay here and I advise anyone visiting Paris to spend the extra money and stay somewhere nicer. You will enjoy your stay in Paris much more.

We stayed at Concorde Residence in July 2003, it was very hot in Paris, and despite being advertised as such, the room was not air conditioned, apart from this everything else was OK, the room was adequate for the price paid, and compared to the hotels surrounding it very reasonably priced. Breakfast consisted of fruit & yoghurt, Cereals with milk, roll & Croissant with jam, Coffee, orange juice or water. Free English newspaper (Guardian).

The location of the hotel is good and fairly accurate in the description however access is difficult since front desk staff not always present to hear the bell on the locked gate which allows access to the courtyard and hotel. On arrival i was unable to gain access for approx 10 minutes until someone else visiting another office in the buliding allowed me entry. In spite of advertising to the contrary, very few of the rooms are air-conditioned and in spite of my requesting such a room, a lengthy argument followed before a phone call was made to the manager who agreed to let me have one. The hotel telephone system is antiquated and the much-advertised internet system did not work during the course of my stay. Except for one clerk who was helpful, the front desk team were unhelpful and generally argumentative - probably the worst I have experienced in many years of world-wide travel. In short, I would not reccommend this hotel to anyone.

The hotel is clean, attractive, and no where near as small as you'd expect for the price. The location can't be beat, and the Venere price was more than $50 below the rate listed at the desk. Highly reccommended.

They were not too helpful in booking things for us except for the manager during the daytime. Everyone else especially the guy in the early mornings was pretty non helpful with thing. And seemed iiritated that we would ask for anything. When I used you to stay in Italy in August every hotel we booked which was like 4 of them were great. No problems at all. This one you really should take off your list. The refigerator didn't work..and it had a constant dripping noise. You couldn't check your voicemails due to there being no # or * sign on the telephone, there was a constant horrible smell of that stuff you perm your hair with...like fermaldehyde. It was pretty bad to us..maybe it was just the room we recieved...but poor it was and very loud and cold.

we had booked a double room for our honeymoon, but on the first night the room was a twin. No problem !! we were shown a number of Doubles the next day and the New Room was excellent. We did not realise that breakfeast was included in our price which made our stay exceptionaly good value. Most definitely we will stay there again

A pleasant and welcoming hotel in a great location. We found it easy to walk to most of the places we wanted to visit, and enjoyed evening strolls through Place de la Concord and along the Seine. We would stay there again.

The price quoted by the venere system did not seem to correspond to the price demanded by the property. We were quoted 237 Euros by venere's reservation system but the hotel claims that it is 270 Euros. Please ensure you check with the property first before you confirm. Overall, we were pleased with the location as it was very near the Concorde metro station.

Great hotel and wonderful location. Only annoying thing was after being told credit card would be used to only confirm reservation the full amount of booking was charged to credit card. Felt this was poor practice and misleading.
