Stay at the Avenir Hôtel Montmartre in Paris when you visit the City of Lights on a budget. This reasonably priced Montmartre Paris hotel has an excellent location in the 9th arrondissement with many rooms facing the Sacré-Cœur.

The Avenir Hôtel Montmartre is close to the Sacré-Cœur Basilica. At this 6-story hotel (with a lift), guests will find it easy to stay in touch with complimentary wireless Internet access in public areas. A computer station and Internet point are also available for guests to use, for a fee. Travelers can catch up on current events with the complimentary newspapers and television located in the lobby. The hotel has a 24-hour front desk and can provide a fax service and photocopies. Metered street parking is available nearby. Pets and service animals are not allowed.

Terrific views nearby!

The hotel is located on the Boulevard de Rochechouart at the foot of Montmartre hill. From the hotel it’s a 5 minute walk to the lower station of the Montmartre funicular, which can carry you up to the summit and the Sacré-Cœur Basilica, unless you want to climb the seemingly endless stairs along the Rue Foyatier. The Avenir Hotel is the perfect base from which to explore other popular destinations in this historically bohemian artists' quarter, including the square Place du Tertre, where artists still gather to paint; the Espace Dali, a museum dedicated to the engravings and sculpture of Salvador Dali; the Moulin Rouge cabaret; and the Place Pigalle red-light district. The Avenir Hôtel Montmartre is a 1-minute walk from the Anvers station of the Paris Metro line and a 10-minute walk from the Gare du Nord train station, making this Paris accommodation a good place to stay.

Stunningly beautiful inside and out!

One of the most popular and recognisable attractions in Paris is Notre Dame Cathedral. With its beautiful French Gothic architecture and stunning sculptures, the Cathedral both inside and out leaves visitors to Paris lost for words. It is possible for visitors to climb the towers of Notre Dame and look out over the Seine and across the City of Lights below. At night the views are even more spectacular especially when the area surrounding the Cathedral comes alive with street performers and artists.

Relax on a sunny afternoon!

No better place to sit back and relax during your Paris vacation then at Les Jardin des Tuileries. The gardens stretch along the Seine river bank from the Louvre museum to Concorde square. The gardens provide the perfect resting spot to take time out during your visit to all the popular attractions. Les Jardin des Tuileries has many beautiful statues and monuments scattered throughout and plenty of little Parisian cafes lining the walkways of the garden. Visitors to the city can enjoy a lovely relaxing walk right in the heart of the city.

Sweet smelling gifts!

Looking for something unusual and not so touristy to do during your stay in Paris? Why not take a trip to Musée du Parfum or the Fragonard Perfume Museum? Learn the secrets behind the scents that are used by millions of people every day. Entrance into the museum is free and visitors can purchase some samples at counters throughout the museum. The most popular and intriguing exhibit is the Orgue a Parfum or Perfume Organ. This tiered machine contains rows of bottles of perfume, each one arranged for ease of access for perfumers who test and mix fragrances.

The best thing about this hotel is the location. But I really shocked when I arrived and saw the hotel. The room was so cramped. The bathroom was old fashioned and even for watching tv they asked me 10€ deposit! Some staffs were welcoming but some no. The breakfast was not bad, there is no verity and option to choose. You should eat what they selected. It might be normal such price and services in Paris, but I think in compare to other hotels around the world this is so expensive.

First time here, to be honest for the price I paid I got exactly what I thought, nothing special, room was very small bathroom even smaller but it was all pretty clean, smelt very musty yet was ok for the two nights we stayed there. The guy on reception was more interested at watching the tv than check us in, the tv in room didn't have remote but all in all it was a cheap base to lay our heads at night, easy to find and easy to get to even for the first time traveller. We got exactly what we paid for really so couldn't be too disappointed

Typical old, small European family-run hotel room. Had a quad room-- double bed and two twins and not room for anything else. Scarily tiny elevator. But wonderful location. Loved sitting on our private balcony with a breathtaking view of the Sacre Coure. Close to a public parking lot and metro station. Lots of little stores and cafes in the area. Not too bad of a walk (15-20 minutes) to the Louvre. Felt safe.Hotel staff was friendly and helpful.

On the site was mentioned that the hotel was recently renovated. Our rooms were old an shabby, windows closed by tape, toilet not functioning properly. Lot of noise from other rooms and corridor, unless double door. We had the upper floor, so no people above us. Our friends had a room on the first floor, they couldn't sleep because of the noise from other rooms. The bed was OK, people were friendly, location was perfect.

I really recommanded it for a fantastic fews days holiday. February 2013

If you are looking for a budget place to stay, this will do. The hotel room was clean but the hotel itself is very old. Street noise is blocked out by thick windows but inside walls are very thin, doors and noise in the hallway loud. Definitely need earplugs. The metro is very near but next time we will stay closer to center of city.

We were lucky to get a room on the 5th floor that have a perfect view of the Sacred Heart Basicilica. It is so beautiful like a postcard that it compensate for everything else. Nearby also is Place Du Tertre (Artist Place). The hotel is very near to many shops and metro. Walking on the street from hotel to Gare Du Nord make me feel unsafe everytime, but otherwise, it is a great location for the price.

Very nice view to Sacre Coeur. Easy to find, right acrros from Anvers metro station. Clean rooms, though quite small, but that is norma for Paris. Noisy at night, as our roomm faced the street and you couldn't keep the window open because of that. The staff was welcoming and spoke a little bit of English. Enough to communicate. Overall, the hotel was nice, very well located and we enjoyed it.

Almost perfect except: - breakfast not included (6€) - most of the staff very nice and helpful, a few however a lot less Surroundings: - you have to know this area is a bit popular, yet it still is very safe. You're close to the red-lights district of Pigalle and the North-African-populated Barbès after all! - some people talking in the street at night - still one of my favourite areas in Paris (cheap, authentic, colourful...) ... the hotel has balconies on the top floors, some even with a view on the Eiffel tower! Definitely staying there next time

This is a little gem of a hotel in the middle of Montmarte.... three of us in a room with lots of space and large windows looking out on to the hustle and bustle of the streets. We loved it and WILL return! Paris can be done on a budget. Go down all the back streets on the opposite side of Sacre Couer and discover all the local bars and cafes. We walked everywhere and the local bus route (30) was brilliant ! Be aware of the annoying "bracelet" sellers - just say NO !

It was only "value for money". I suggest as cheap choice. The location was perfect. Everything else was normal. I believe that you can find more hotels under 80 euro/night in montmarte. A negative was that for the safety box you should pay 1 euro/night.

Hotel situated in a busy area easily accessed by Metro. Staff were excellent. Hotel exudes a feel that it is a bit tired and in need of a spruce up. Computer in reception was not working. Carpets were a bit dowdy and stained. A lick of paint on stairs and landings and in the room would not go amiss. It was cleaned to a high standard and fresh towels provided every day. Wonderful view of Sacre Couer from our room. The adage, you get what you pay for, is true. I realise that we visited in high season and paid a relatively cheap price for Paris so my comments are not criticisms, they are suggestions. I do realise that it costs to make improvements but the hotel was full during our stay so must be generating sufficient revenue to invest in a little general maintenance.

Very smal and plain room. My room was tiny and dark, but sufficient for a single traveller. It met my needs but would not hold up to close discrimination. It is fine if all you are looking for is a simple, inexpensive room in Paris. It is Paris and it is Montmartre..........The staff were all very accommodating and helpful. A lot of construction was going on outside the building and kind of camflauged the entrance. I would stay again, but would seek other options first.

We were 3 Travellers, 2 adults, 1 child (10 years old). You have to pay immediatly at checkin. We did not book breakfast- in my eyes too expensive: 6,- Euros/person. Breakfast in one of the countless cafes in the nearby hotel surroundings will cost much less and even will taste more authentic! The Room was rather clean, very old furnished, but ok. The carpet needs to be cleaned, indeed. The Shower was ok- always hot water, the toilet space unfortunately was so narrow- not recommandable for anybody weighting more than 90kg, believe me! Bathroom furniture from the 60s, therefore rather damged and old. Public transportation was very near- about 200 meters away from the property. Wireless LAN was inclusive- but only for three days- maybe they would have given me another new code on request, but i didn´t need one, and so i did not ask again after it. The surrounding of the Hotel is very multi-cultural, "exotic" would be the right terminology- if you want something more "Paris-like", you have to book more central, maybe in the Marais or Latin-Quarter. This surely will be more expensive.

Avenir Hotel is in a good location. Across it is Anvers metro station. Farther across is Sacre Coeur Church. I requested for a room with a view of this church by emailing the hotel. They gave us room 34 which is on the 5th floor. It has a balcony and a spectacular view of the church. It is a small double room with a tiny bathroom. No problem with us. The hotel has a very small elevator that fits 3 people with no baggage. It has free wifi but I believe they turn it off sometime late in the evening until early morning. The staff were professional but not really very friendly. With the price, everything here is perfect.

Excellent value for money! Very friendly staff. Rooms in the upper floors facing Montmartre have an excellent view. We occupied room no 39 on the highest floor no 6 with thrilling views over Paris towards the South, West and North. I recommend the breakfast served in the room. We bought some "upgrade" sausage and yoghurt in the store a few meters down the street. Metro is across the street and Gare du Nord / de l'Est in walking distance. The street is very noisy, but the rooms have new windows with good insulation.

First of all, let's make a distinction between things common to Paris (hotels) and things specific to the "Avenir Montmartre". Among the former: very small bathroom and awful coffee (coffee & croissants are much better in Australia :), the TV hitched to the ceiling could get you a headache, and the requirement to leave your key at the reception every time you pop out is uncomfortable. Now to the specifics: after a looong joke by the receptionist on arrival about how some customers take souvenirs from hotels and that the remote wasn't worthed the 10 euros security, I went up to my room to find I couldn't use it: the TV set was in pieces. The next day I arranged with a different receptionist to change rooms and, the following day, I got a room with a view of the Eiffel tower - plus a complimentary breakfast (albeit incomplete :). Another nice thing is that the hotel is close to the metro Anvers, which is handy if you're travelling from CDG airport. Otherwise you better get aquainted with the bus schedule, as the metro in Paris positively reeks of sweat and, if you're 'lucky' of other human fluids as well. Plus, it's terribly hot in summer. All in all, I would definitely recommend the hotel for a short stay in Paris - it is clean, the personnel is efficient (I had a package delivered at the hotel without problems) and it's good value for money.

We recomend the hotel!! If you can, book the panorama room, you have a very nice views over the Tour Eiffel and the Sacré Coeur. The metro station is in front of the hotel. We recommend the breakfast too, it costs 6€ and there are a lot of things. In the same price the breakfasts in Montmatre are only coffe and croissant. If we'll return to Paris, we'll book again this hotel.

Good breakfast for extra pay 6 euro/orange juice, coffee or tea, jam, butter, croisant and roll, plain yogurt/,not so bad. Area is perfect for traveling to city center, just use metro station Anvers -2 minutes walk from hotel. Small problem was with space for breakfast in the room, better when you eat in the space beside the reception. Another problem is-no kettle in the room,i know ,is budget hotel, but thats typical standard,i dont want drinking just cold drinks. One gut think is-just 300 max 400 meters beside hotel is supermarket Carrefur with gut prices. Staff in hotel speaking english,is not so typical in France. The bathroom was very small, but it looked new and clean, but I missed heating there as it was really cold at the end of November. As the hotel is located on a boulevard in Montmartre, there a plenty of bars and restaurants around and just across the street you find the Elysee Montmartre a very beautiful venue for concerts. There is a metro station in front of the hotel so you can reach Gare du Nord easily. If you don´t need luxury but just a clean place to sleep you find very good value for money there.

The hotel is in good location, only 50 metres from the underground where you can easily go anywhere you like! Other good things are that the breakfast is served in the room and the soundproof windows! It was a grat dissapointment to see that the rooms were so small and the fact that you have to pay 10euros to watch TV. Another ''lie'' was that all rooms have view to sacre coer, the truth is that few rooms have this view. Overall the room's price is relatively low, comparing with other hotels at the same category in paris, so if you have a tight budget i will certainly suggest you staying in this hotel!

Excellent position, small rooms but clean. Just across the metro station and Sacre Coeur. Noisy at night, especially in weekend. Staff ok. For a shower and a night sleep after a day walking in Paris is ok.

My husband & I paid a little extra for a 'Superior Double', as this was the last night of an 11 day trip to France & Switzerland. I couldn't quite believe how shabby the hotel was when we arrived and we were initially given a room with two single beds that were fixed to the wall so couldn't even be pushed together. I told the young girl on reception, who said that was all they had & that all the other rooms were booked. When I pointed out that we had booked the double room quite a few weeks in advance & had the booking confirmed, she offered us a room for 4 people, which had one double bed & two singles, which we accepted. She then came to collect one of the single mattresses from our room as she said they had a party of three that needed the extra bed! As I helped her drag it out onto the landing, it did remind me a bit of 'Fawlty Towers'. The paint & paper was peeling from the walls, all the furniture was old and chipped, the mattress was less than comfortable, the bathroom was absolutely ancient and the view from the bathroom window was of a huge pile of rubbish at the bottom of a deep shaft. However, on the plus side, the location was good - we could see the Sacre Coeur from our bedroom window, it was a good spot for people-watching late at night and it was very close to the Gare du Nord station. We didn't try the breakfast, which was served in the entrance foyer. Don't book this hotel if you're after comfort and luxury - I don't believe that ANY of the rooms are superior! Do book it if you're after a good location and you don't mind too much about the state of the room.

We were happy with our room, with a few negatives. We received a room on the 3rd floor (3 above the ground floor). It was small for 4 people containing 2 single beds and a double bed. We barely had space to move around. The bathroom was equally small. The hot water did not work for one morning but was repaired by the evening. The positives were many though. It was clean, the staff was friendly. Out of our window we looked up a street to the Sacre Coeur, which was 5 minutes walk away. The Anvers Metro stop was 2 minutes away. 15 minutes down Rochechaurt was the Moulin Rouge. The street was lively and exciting. The restaurant district of Montmartre was 10 minutes away, although it was very expensive. On Rochechuart itself there we several more reasonably priced places to eat. In consideration of all the positives and negatives, we enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.

This is my second visit in Paris. This is the best hotel for fair price.I was in 5th floor the view is incredible. When you look throught the balcony door you see Sacré-Coeur.The one and only thing that i didn't like is the lift it's too small. If you don't mind the neighbourhood it's perfect.

Super Preis-Leistungs-Verhätnis, auch wenn die Zimmer schon etwas älter waren und das Bad etwas schimmlig, es war trotzdem sauber und dafür wohnt man mitten in Paris!!! Freundliches Personal, reibungsloser, unkomplizierter Ablauf.

We stayed in Paris for 2 days and 2 nights. The hotel was clean, bed was comfortable, however the room was small, but you don't come to Paris to hag out in your hotel room. The staff were friendly, however could not make any recommendations on where to eat, which was disappointing. The views were remarkable and the location is great! The metro stop is right across the road and made getting around Paris a snap. The optional breakfast was not worth the 6 euros, though. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Location was superb for Sacre Coeur and for the Metro (Anvers literally across the road). Also nearby were a cafe, grocers and a pharmacy. Reception staff were kind, courteous, and very helpful. Would recommend this hotel to anyone on a budget for a great stay in Paris. Top marks!

Buon soggiorno...

The hotel is very well situated, 1 minute far from the tube, 10 minutes far from the romantic Montmartre area and a lot of supermarkets and bakeries (France it's expensive for young couples!). However, the hotel it's a bit old and our bedroom was quite small. We have stayed at the "double panoramic room" in the 6th floor, it has an awesome view!! but it smelled like dirty socks and we had to open the windows every time that we arrived to the room... The 3rd day, they forgot put on the bathroom any shower gel.. To sum up, we think that we would return to this hotel if we haven't so much money and we want to spend there a few romantic days :)

Keeping in mind the very low rates charged, this hotel is a find. My room was very small with limited closet space and no dresser, BUT a fabuous view of Sacre Coeur. The bed was firm;fresh, good quality towel daily. Room and bath kept very clean. Adequate lighting. Breakfast served in lobby or in room and was good value at 6 euro. Staff tried to be helpful but at times (understandably) a bit stressed. Computer terminal available in the lobby at 1 Euro per half hour. All in all a very very good no frill hotel highly recommended for the budget traveller

It isn't the Ritz but reception staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms are clean. Some redecoration is needed and noise could be heard from the other rooms but the view of Sacre Coeur from our window more than made up for that. We had a great time and would recommend the hotel.

The hotel is located in the center of Montmartre, close to Sacre Coer, to Pigalle, and few steps to the Metro that takes you wherever you want in Paris. The Hotel structure is a bit old but clean. Overall, we would definately choose this hotel again.

the hotel is very dingy, the rooms are absolutely tiny, needs an overhall immediately, it also contains the smallest lift i have ever seen! 2 people with hand luggage was a struggle to fit in! Some staff were helpful others were not at all, the hotel is in a good location(although very close to red light district) with great access to metro and nice views of sacre coure although if and when i do return to paris i will not be staying in this hotel

What makes this hotel acceptable is the location: right across the street from the subway and the bus. Our room was small and with one double bed and two twin beds there was hardly any room for our suitcases (had to keep one on the desk, the other on top of the closet and the other on the floor). Tiny bathroom. Creaking of the wood floor above our room kept us a awake much of the first night. All in all, given the price for a Paris hotel I might stay there again. Just don't expect much. This hotel was horrible. The employees were great but the hotel is so bad my baby got bed bug bites all over his body. We left right away even before we started seeing this horrible marks on our baby. I don't recommend this hotel to anyone. The room was small, and very cold. We were taking showers and it was so cold we couldnt take it anymore and left.

This was a lovely but basic hotel, as expected from the details and price, it is situated on the main road opposite the quaint and artistic area of monmatre. I asked for a room with a view and I could not have got better, our room was directly opposite the sacre cour. A metro station is almost directly outside with connections into central paris, or about a 45 minute walk to the arc de triumphe. I would definatly recommend this hotel to anyone that is on a budget.

We've stayed at the Avenir Hotel during our romantic weekend away. They gave us the best room (No. 39), right is on the top floor. It is small by American standards, but large for a hotel in Paris. The room has 3 balconies and some fantastic views of the Eiffel Tower, and Sacre Coeur Basilica which is only a short walking distance away. The room was neat and clean, with a flat-screen TV. The hotel itself situated right next to the metro station. I found the staff to be very pleasant and accommodating. We will definitely stay there on the next visit. To sum up - it's a nice, clean 2 star hotel with a reasonable price and wonderful location.

We were mostly very happy with the Avenir. The staff were very helpful and the hotel offers a 24/7 front desk which is great. The breakfast was served with a smile on the dot in your room every morning and was a good continental-style affair (croissants to die for!). The rooms were serviced and fresh towels were supplied every day. The location was second to none - we opened our balcony window and there it was: Sacre Coeur! Everything in our room worked perfectly, though the overall area erred on the small side. Many good cafes and brasseries are within easy walking distance as is Anvers Metro station - only 50 metres from the hotel. Anyone who got off at the Gare Du Nord metro must have mis-read their directions. We look forward to staying at the Avenir when we return to Paris.
