I stayed at Hotel Académie Hôtel Deluxe with my boyfriend for the first time in Sept 2011 - we were upgraded to an AMAZING junior suite, with a jacuzzi! The room was big for Paris and was very pretty. I have no idea what the standard room sizes were like, and meant to check for future stays but didn't have time. The location is great as I love St Germain, it is very close to the metro. On Saturday night it was very noisy on the streets outside but if you want to stay in a central, busy area you have to expect this. We didn't have breakfast. We were given free wifi access. I would definitely recommend this hotel, it is one of the best I have stayed in in Paris - and I have tried a lot!

I received more of what I expected!!! The hotel is really near to the Louvre, you can go walking and it takes only 5 minutes!! Also you have a metro station near, so you can move easily to the train station or other places. The bedroom was SO SO SO romantic. The bathroom was small but with all the basic stuff. The staff was very helpful, they speak many languages. They helped us to find the places were we were going, they gave us a map. The service was excellent. The breakfast was not included, and it is expensive. But near the hotel there are a lot of restaurants (some cheap and some expensive), so you can walk from the hotel and find something good and cheap to eat. I stayed two nights in the hotel, and they were really excellent.

First I booked on line and then was told by the Hotel they were full. They advised when you book online you are never sure! So, they booked me in an other crap hotel over priced of course! My suggestion is NEVER EVER book online this hotel. By the way I forgot to say that the hotel manager of Hotel Académie Hôtel Deluxe - St Germain des Prés, was not welcoming neither helpful. STAY AWAY FROM Hotel Académie Hôtel Deluxe - St Germain des Prés.

This a charming hotel, with friendly and welcoming staff. The Deluxe room we stayed in was most delightful and comfortable, surprisingly with jacuzzi bath & a shower - modern and the old features blended well. I loved the fact it is situated central to most vicinities & sites, yet quiet and not so busy. The only let down on our first morning is the breakfast - it was not worth 14.50 euros, you can have a generous breakfast down the road for the same price. Overall I recommend this quaint hotel for it's location, delightful charm and friendly staff.

We had no water on morning one, so stayed till just before noon (because we were told at 10am they'd fix the water in about 15 minutes) to take a shower, but had to finally leave without, since we only had 2 days in Paris in total. Decided to shower in evening, but when we got in at 1am, hot water was broken and reception guy told us: je ne sais pas (i don't know). Following morning we had to leave and hot water was still broken. Reception guy didn't call his boss to tell water was broken, so she found out all over again next morning and even had the guts to tell us that there had been no complaints all night. We complained alright, we called them twice during that night, after a tired long day of walking. After all the phonecalls in te morning, we took a quick, very cold!! shower to rince of dirt and went home again. They let us pay for only one night (after a lot of negotiating I tell you!), not two, but still staying in a cheap old hostel would've been more comfortable then staying here.

The room was very nice decorated. we had a luxury, which was very small, but the bathroom was big. One did not hear the traffic, and the bed was very good. The surrounding was great, only a few minutes to Seine and centre within walking distance. Nearby is a bakery where one can buy food and drinks. We would choose this hotel again.

This hotel is in a great location. Most major attractions are within easy walking distance. I think we had the smallest room in the hotel, which was a little tight, but overall the stay was pleasant. Breakfast wasn't included in the room rate and as such was perhaps a little pricey, but the food and presentation were both very good. We did have to pay a small supplement above the quoted web price, but that may be a common practice in Paris.

The Hotel Academie was wonderful and we will definately stay there again. We were offered an upgrade to the jr. suite at a very reasonable price which included an excellent breakfast. The room was still a bit small... but it's Paris! The entire hotel was lovely with lots of charactor and the pictures simply do not do it justice. The location was wonderful with great shops close by and central to so many of the places we wanted to visit. The staff were helpful from the moment we walked in the front door till the very last minute when we came back to pick up our bags which the generously kept locked up for us after check out until our late night train back to London. It's all about location and this hotel has that. Very close to all major tourist attractions and bus lines. Front desk staff very helpful and polite. Our room was smaller than expected for a deluxe jr. suite, however it was clean and had plently of closet space, hairdryer, small fridge and wall safe. Bathroom was nice with huge whirlpool tub. This was the only hotel we stayed in during our 3 week vacation to europe that breakfast (not even coffee) was not included in our room charge. We had coffee everyday and that cost us 8 euros each daily. That is my only complaint about this hotel. I would recommend to family/friends and would return again and again (with mr. coffee :))!

The staff was nice enough most of the time. The common areas of the hotel were nicely done. The location was excellent and on a relatively quiet side street. Once you got past the lobby, the rest was a disappointment. Hallways were narrow and drab with peeling paint. We expected the room to be small, and it was. The spread and curtains looked new, but the rest of the linens were basic. The walls were dirty and needed repainting. The carpet was dirty. The bathroom had splatters on the walls and dirt in the corners. We would not stay here again. There must be other Paris hotels at this price that are clean.

What a wonderful stay we had at Hotel Gea. Our hostess Francesca was so kind and attentive and even RAN down the hall to help me with something. She was incredible! They were all helpful and kind after we got pickpoketed on the underground rail. We loved their tiny little lift (elevator). The room was spotless and spacious and the bathroom shone it was so clean. A wonderful tasty breakfast and service not even received in 4 star hotels. It was a 3-5 minute walk from the train station and a half a block from the underground, in a very quiet and nice area with many great resturants, and near the grand Opera house. You can walk to every ancient site in a day, if you like to walk and are in good shape, otherwise the underground can get you everywhere (just hide your money in an inside-belt wallet) Can't wait to go back and use Hotel Gea.

The Hotel was in an excellent location. The Deluxe room was horrid and I had to upgrade to a Jr. Suite for more money. The curtains were coming down and there was a huge spot in the middle of the carpet. However the beds were excellent and the bathroom in the Jr Suite superior. The girls were pleasant but not particularly friendly. I would only stay there again, knowing that I must request a Jr. Suite and hoping for a better rate. We did not eat the expensive breakfast( 15 Euro per person) as there were wonderful other places to go for less money.

We liked the hotel and the area so much that we decicded to book 2 extra nights, Saturday and Sunday. We especially appreciated the hotel giving us a larger room for this second stay (junior suite with whirlpool) for the same price as a deluxe room. This size of this larger room was more comfortable for 2 people with luggage, and the bathroom (decor and whirlpool tub) was fantastic. Despite the proximity to Boulevard St. Germain, the room was quiet as it faced a small side street and the windows were double glass. We highly recommend this hotel, provided you can book at the special rates of EUR 99.- or 129.- through Venere, then the price / quality ratio is excellent.

The Academie was excellent. The location was awesome, great, fantastic. The employees were courteous and friendly. I would easily stay at the Academie again. I recommend the hotel for a couple wishing to enjoy Paris, be centrally located, and in an artsy French district.

Although most of the staff were pleasant enough, there were problems with our room that were never fixed. The bathroom was particularly disturbing. We would not recommend this hotel to anyone, nor would we stay there again.

Merici a tous.

The hotel was fantastic, the location was great. The room was perfect (the leopard print cushions were fun!)and the staff were lovely. I have no problem recommending this hotel to anyone. The only problem (which is not an issue at all) was we were charged £4 more then advised. I have absolutely no problem in paying this but my friend wasn't too happy on the principle that it was £4 more. I would happily stay there again (as would he) and pay more.

A nice hotel, in a very central location. Very handy for the Louvre and central Paris. Soundproofing in the rooms is excellent. Breakfast was a bit pricey, though.
