Hotel UR Portofino - Palma de Mallorca

Nice place for a short stay near Palma. Close to bus-stop and beach. Rent a bike at the hotel, very convenient.

Hotel staff is nice and welcoming, rooms are clean and tidy but there's no minibar so if you like drinking cold water you'll be forced to buy a new one everyday and unless you go to a supermarket prices will be high. Rooms are very tiny, we had to stick everything we had inside the closet to move adequately in the room. Also soap shower gel wasn't replaced until after we bought a new one ourselves. Breakfast buffet is a bit poor and when my wife asked for a decaffeinated cappuccino the staff said it had to be paid extra. The wifi service is the worst I've ever seen (and the only alternative is paying 50 cents every 15 minutes to use a pc in the lounge area, a total rip off) We heard far too much noises of doors slamming over the night. However the price/quality rate is really good and the pool was nice, plus the surroundings are absolutely amazing: the beach is at 300mt and plenty of tasty not too expensive restaurants in the area. So yes, all in all we enjoyed our stay and might also consider returning to this hotel.

We had to be at the airport by 7 am and we therefore requested that an early breakfast be prepqred for us. We got a tasteless ham and cheese white sliced sandwich that had been kept in the fridge overnight, an apple and diluted fruit juice. Hot coffee or any other hot drink was not available. We had booked this hotel because we wanted easy access to the airport - this was not the case. The taxi ride cost 15 euros and there was no direct bus route to and from the airport despite the apparent proximity.

It was a small room, but we knew. Unfortunately, we lacked a table on the balcony and then they cleaned the pool not as often. We had to say about it. Otherwise it was great. Will go there several times and I have already recommended this hotel to several people

Nice atmosphere, restaurant and beautiful area around the swimmingpool. Nice seaview from the upper floors. Clean and nice rooms although a little small.

We have been staying in Palma for 4 nights during Easter holidays with the purpose of visiting the Island, therefore we returned in the Hotel only overnight to sleep. For this reason we did not suffer too much the only negative point of this hotel that is the room dimensions. The room was actually one meter larger and one meter longer than the bed. However it was clean and with all options described in the web page, included a safe-box. Breakfast was good and people were very friendly and helpful. If You plan to go by car, keep in mind that they have not a private parking and during the high season to find a park in such area (close to the beach) could be tough. Close to the Hotel there are many restaurants and bars and the sea promenade is just there. Some of them are expensive and others very cheap. We suggest the Bar-Restaurant "Cala Canta" at the corner after the Hotel, in front of the beach, where the owner was very nice and the fish very fresh at a reasonable price.

The reception staff were helpful and friendly and gave us lots of information but the waiter at breakfast was miserable and looked fed up hotel was value for money and just for 1 night fine,Although the room only small it was spotless and modern lounge and communal area likewise pool looked nice.

Positive: -Very friendly, helpful and service minded staff in the reception. -Nice, modern rooms, very nice bathroom. -My mother got a double room although she booked a single room and was very positively surprised. -Short distance to the beach. -Beach/pool towels available at the front desk, a nice service. -Short distance to the airport. Negative: -Not internet access in all rooms as announced (most likely due to distance to the router). -No minibar as announced. -Very low water pressure in the shower. -Not every room has a balcony. We got balconies in our rooms and were very happy with that, but we had called the hotel in advance and asked for it. -Small rooms.

Very friendly staff, clean room and comfortable. Also a very privileged location.

Great if you want to relax by the beach or pool. Little far from centre of town.

consiglio vivamente questo albergo molto pulito e carino, soggiorno soddisfacente.i dintorni sono ottimi, fermata autobus per Palma VICINA, come ristoranti di ogni tipo, bar, Supermercati, spiaggia ecc.ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo e gentilezza unica.

We shared a triple room, which was failrly small, but ok. But I wonder why it is so difficult to provide warm water in the shower, espescially as far as it is ok in the handwash.. Overall - a very nice place, clean, fresh looking and with very service minded staff.

Easy access to airport, beach and buses into Palma. Friendly and efficient staff. It took a very pleasant 50 mins of gentle strolling to walk into Palma along the sea front promenade. The bus service was excellent. Took the train to Soller which was a very good excursion. Very enjoyable break.

The staff were lovely, there was a lovely lounge / bar area for sitting (or around the pool), it was about 1 min walk to the beach promenade which you can follow all the way to the centre of Palma & the cathedral (about an hours walk on the promenade, which follows the contours of the coast) and there were plenty of bars & restaurants nearby. The bedrooms are small - max. 10ft by 12ft - with 2 single beds pushed together taking up most of the room. But the fixtures and fittings were good quality, the bed linen was nice and the bathroom (again small) was lovely with a spacious walk-in shower. The outside walls of the hotel are painted a deep turquoise so when you're walking back from Palma on the beach promenade you can spot the hotel from 15mins away.

Lets make something quite clear, this is not a 4 star hotel. Yes, the staff are friendly and the rooms are clean, but they are very, very small, we felt claustrophobic. The wardrobe door banged into the bed, it was difficult to turn around. The pool had not been cleaned and it was green and dirty. We had booked for 5 nights but left after the first night to stay at a real 4 star hotel in nearby Can Pastilla,the El Cid, where the food was excellent and the rooms were big and for 10 euros extra we got half board. Sorry Portofino, your friendliness dosen't make up for the fact that it really is a 2 star hotel. The location dosen't have anything going for it either. Also it is not a 45 minute walk into Palma, more like 90 mins. No,we didn't like it, sorry.

We (2 adults and 12 year old) spent two nights in February and had a great time without breaking the bank. The hotel has been made over and upgraded and exceeded all our expectations. The location was fabulous - literally a 5 minute taxi ride to the airport, and 50 metres from the beach, 100 metres from the bus to the city, and surrounded by bars and restaurants. Our room had a sea view, and was clean and well equipped. The staff were helpful, and the breakfast was plentiful. The promenade runs all the way along the water's edge to the city going west and past the airport to the beaches and resort areas to the east. We walked into town, a good couple of miles, but found plenty of modern, stylish bars and cafes offering us resting places. We also walked the other way towards Can Pastilla, which was less scenic (runway, water works) and took you to more touristy bars offering full english etc in english. Palma city was delightful, and provided a Carnival Parade, a football match and plenty of shopping. The town buses were reliable cheap and frequent.

Nice and cosy small hotel at a superb location at a beautiful beach spot at the outskirts of Palma de Mallorca.

Excellent hotel, very clean, modern and comfortable. The rooms were a little small, but they were new, spotless and smelled great. The location is okay in that you will need to walk 20-30 minutes to be in Palma.

Our stay was amazing. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The only thing I thought was frustrating was the two beds pushed together to make a queen size bed which had to be pushed back together every few hours. Other than that our stay was perfect.

We booked last minute and we had a fantastic time,only 50mtr from the promenade and beach,lots of restaurants and bars easy walk we recommend the Fusion Restaurant opposite the hotel. Don't miss the Roof Terrace at the Portofino with fantastic views of Palma

was absolutely astonished at lack of space in rooms. only reason why i am bothering to complete this questionnaire is to mention how welcoming the staff were and hotel has an extremely helpful and friendly manager. he is a credit to the hotel!
