Hotel UR Palacio Avenida - Adults only - Palma de Mallorca

Reception was good. Parking was a bit of a nightmare as you have to use an underground public car park! The restaurant in the hotel was closed but we were told we could eat at a sister hotel elsewhere in Palma! There was a nice picture in the reception of the swimming pool but that too was at another hotel. Rooms were modern and well equipped. I went to the bar to be told that it was not open, I asked when it was open and was told - never! In summary we booked a four star hotel with a restaurant and bar - a bit of a con or "misleading". The second time in this hotel - and still great. Best position for taking a bus to every destination. Elegant rooms, very helpful staff. Excellent value for money, specially in winter - and Palma is worth a visit in every season!

The quality of the rooms was excellent. I've stayed in many business-style hotels in Spain, and this was one of the best designed, maintained and serviced. An interesting building, it used to be a cinema, the hotel has been designed in a funky, modern way. The staff were astoundingly multi-lingual and helpful. The location of the hotel was good, right near the historic part of town and in short walking distance to shops and restaurants. The rooms were a little noisy from outside passing traffic, but nothing that bothered me.

A very new hotel - but the architect forgot to plan ANY double rooms - so all rooms have only one bed and there is NO possibility to put an exptra bed. If you travel with an elderly woman as I did... not everybody likes to share a bed. Despite this, the staff including the director was very friendly, the position is excellent - you step out of the hotel to the old town or the huge bus station to all directions. We will certainly come back - but in 2 rooms...

Hotel has a very nice location, close to pedestrian area, central in Palma. Staff speaks good English, easy to get a taxi.

We got a half price introductory offer which made this good value for Palma. The rooms were smart & new but some features did not work - eg.no attachment for shower, trailing cable, tricky bath fittings. The restaurant& bar did not appear open & the breakfast was extortionate - but none of this was a problem given it's location - near the centre of town & conveniently also right by train station & bus stop to airport
