Hotel Continental - Palma de Mallorca

We enjoyed our stay in the Continental Hotel for one week.We would have appreciated a better sonic isolation of the rooms that sometimes give you the feeling to be in the streets.

I was in a room on the fourth floor which was much smaller than previous rooms that i have stayed in but i was charged the same price which is not very fair. This is not city centre but for a street that is so quite during the day, the noise during the night is unbelievable, take ear plugs. Friendly reception staff.

This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel. I stayed in a different room this time but again the curtains did not meet, this meant that they had to be held together with a pin from the sewing kit as otherwise I would have the traffic lights from the street outside in my eyes all night. This is such a silly problem that just shouldn't happen. The staff are friendly and I like where the hotel is situated as it is a nice walk to the centre or to the port.

OUTSTANDING VALUE FOR MONEY HOTEL. ROOMS VERY SPACIOUS, PUBLIC ROOMS EXCEPTIONAL. STAFF VERY WELCOMING AND HELPFUL. LOCATION IN QUIET BACKSTREETS WITH MANY LOCAL CAFES. VERY CLOSE TO SEA FRONT AND SHOPPING AREAS WITH VIEWS OF HARBOUR FROM UPPER FLOORS. WE STAYED ONLY ONE NIGHT IN PALMA BUT WILL RETURN AND CERTAINLY USE THIS HOTEL

An excellent base for a business or holiday traveller. I stayed 6 days for work & leisure. Staff are polite and competent and most attentive. The breakfast buffet was diverse and well stocked. My only adverse comment was that my room (115) suffered from the intermitent mechanical noises of the lift operating in the adjacent building.

This was my firt time to Hotel Continental and my third time in Palam de Mallorca and I plan to return. From the minute we walked in to when we checked out, everyone was polite, attentive and very willing to assist. Perfect experience! I ate their buffet breakfast and I found it complete for every appetite.

I spent a total of 5 days between the end of June and beginning of July. The airlines had lost my baggage for the entire holidays I was there , and I have to say the staff were very helpful at the conceirge desk, checking up on the airlines and keeping me informed and my spirits up, they were knowlegeable and recommeded some great places to eat and listen to music, where to go dancing , marked it out in a map for me and gave to me later, when I asked for recommendation. I found it difficult to sleep the first night because of the traffic, as soon as a room at the back was available they shifted me. The rooms are excellent , comfortable with all the amenities. It's in a convenient location , walking distance to the bus/train station and all the sights. Well kept and maintained , suroundings are safe , highly recommend it

Excellent hotel with excellent staff. We read that the hotel was loud, but given that the hotel is very central in Palma, the noice level was appropriate. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel. Look no further.

This was my first visit to Palma and I really loved it, I chose this hotel as it was just far enouth away but at the same time near enough to everthing. I was happy to find my own way around so I didn't ask reception staff to do anything for me but I was not asked if I knew Palma nor was I offered any infomation or map of the city. There was one map in reception which I picked up, having said that, they were very pleasant and always had a smile, I don't understand why the reception is hidden in the corner of a huge lobby area, they are behind a wall with no view of the doorway, it was bizarre, this is the reason that I gave the section "photograph" a low mark as in the photos on the website the reception area is completely different. I was in a room overlooking the street and even though it was not a busy street it was very noisy at night, I think apartments on the other side of the road had balcony doors open and the noise carried across. Location of the hotel is perfect, a lovely walk to the port where you can walk for miles, stop in the Cafe Cuba on the way and have a Majorcan breakfast of Pan con Tomate which is delicious. The airport bus stops a few minutes away. It's also a straight walk to the Plaza Mayor with plenty of shops on the way, I found the people very friendly everwhere and would go back to Palma anytime and would stay in this hotel again.

This hotel has a good location and pleasant staff. The only problem with our room was the noise overnight, we had a street facing room which may have been the problem.

They were ok but it was really noisy outside and we couldn't close the drapes all the way to keep the streetlight out. One little teeny bar of soap. No money exchange at the front desk. Place was a little eery and quite. Bkfast wasn't that great either. Oh well, thank goodness we only stayed one night.

Great hotel and very friendly and helpful staff!

City Break in Palma de Mallorca.Though we were on a break and well catered for the hotel has a business clientele during the week but we felt quite at home as tourists. The Continental is within easy reach of all the main areas of Palma and provided a high quality experience from 13th to 15th March 2009. We stayed for three nights B & B in a huge quiet room overlooking a side street. As we were largely on our own in the hotel breakfast was cooked individually! As the Euro/Sterling rate was poor we should have had half board. Not a cheap hotel but one with style and helpful and friendly staff!

Staff were very helpful and welcoming. Rooms a good size and very nice, although a little noisy with traffic outside. Spa facilities very good and staff were happy for us to use them to get ready to go home after a day on the beach even though we'd already checked out that day, so a last minute jacuzzi was a bonus! Secure left luggage room meant we didn't have to have our bags with us all day either. Breakfast very nice, lots of selection (nice sausages and cakes). Excellent location for exploring the town centre. Would definitely stay here again for a weekend visit to Palma.

Disappointed with toiletries supplied in bathroom for a 4 Star Hotel,building work going on nearby, very noisy. Price of drink in bar very expensive.

Hotel Continental had a great location, within walking distance of everything. The hotel had an old world charm about it with very modern amenities. The hotel staff, particularly the front desk, was very courteous and efficient (arranged reservations for an island tour during off hours, mailed postcards for us, gave directions to places to eat, called a cab for us, etc.). The room exceeded my expectations. It had every convenience, with free internet and free mini-bar access. The bathroom was huge and very nice. The inside of the hotel was elegant. The breakfast was included and was very nice. We would recommend Palma de Mallorca (and the island tour) and the Hotel Continental to anyone.

We wouldn't return as we found the room a little noisy and the breakfast uninspiring. Our evening meal wasn't good either. Chips limp, asparagus dried out. There was only one other couple in the restaurant that evening so it seems it's not well frequented by locals.

A very good hotel, well situated with excellent breakfast and very helpful staff. Small but nice sauna etc which was only spoilt a little by the slight smell of drains. The rooms were very good, spacious and clean with a very large bathroom. Plenty of good eating places nearby.

Very good hotel. Good location near old city, new building, well appointed rooms. Helpful staff. Good value.

The room we stayed in was a smoking room and consequently smelt of cigarette smoke. I don't remember being given the option of a non-smoking room but would have definitely taken it if offered as I HATE the smell of cigarettes.
