San Paolo Palace Hotel - Palermo

Only one bad service: bathroom is too ancient; flush not good

Value for money excellent in consideration of you offer.

We had been on the road for 8 weeks staying at a number of accommodation types, so we were reasonably discerning. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay(perhaps except the depressed surrounding area)The receptionists were very helpful- especially the afternoon session.The room was very comfortable and spacious with good view of the ocean.The dining room was a highlight with variety in the menu, but of special satisfaction for us was the service in the dining room. The boss and his staff were extremely attentive,helpful and most professional on every occasion. We just did not want to dine anywhere else.Similarly, the very polite, accommodating bar steward went out of his way to provide us with excellent service. Thank you for a memorable and hospitable stay. In addition, the location on the bus routes to the railway and the city centre was very convenient

Palermo - a city of contrasts: beautiful architecture, great food, but full of garbage and dirt. the hotel itself - hmm have you ever seen plastic cups at breakfast in a 4* hotel? If not, then you have a great chance here. Do not expect delicious Sicilian fruit or vegetable for breakfast (canned fruit only). And the swimming pool - swimming caps required!!!

My husband and I are from Australia and stayed here on part of our honeymoon. The hotel would have been a 4 or 5 star place back in the 80's, but it hasn't changed too much since then. It is in a kind of time warp. So in a nutshell the hotel is nice but quite dated. The shuttle service to the city centre only operates on some days - only 1 of the 4 days we stayed there. The hotel is not in a nice neighbourhood - I was actually a bit scared to be out after dark. For that reason we ate in the hotel every night, which was actually ok. The food was nice and well priced, the service was good although a bit odd. The hotel booked a hire car for us, which was very convenient and our room looked out over the ocean so that was nice. The room was quite large and had satelite TV, but not much choice of chanels for english speakers.

This is a nice hotel with nice facilities, free parking and a good restaurant. Our main complaint would be the location as we like to walk everywhere and to get to old town, you have to walk about 1/2 mile though a somewhat seedy and dark area before getting to a main street. If driving, call for directions because the ones on the webs site not too good. And there is a charge for internet connectivity.

Hotel St. Paul is' proved to be very comfortable both for the environment and to respect all staff, especially at the reception. Personally I would recommend it to both a customer refined to more simple: the reception will 'definitely the same!
