We had a tough time finding the hotel, but should have gotten a better map. We booked two rooms and one of them smelled very strongly of cigarettes and there wasn't another room available. The staff was apologetic, but there wasn't anything they could do because the hotel was full. Our room wasn't the cleanest.

Potentilly good hotel, but lots of details not wel cared (i.e. Linen with stains, broken shower, breakfast inadequate) It doesn't worth the price.

Breakfast was not as good as it could be. The person attending customers was not attentive, space was quite small, food somewhat skimpy.

The hotel was very comfortable, the staff welcoming and helpful. The pre-booked taxi from the airport met us from the flight and took us straight to the hotel. HOWEVER, our room was directly on the street, and was VERY noisy. To make it even worse, at 06:00am workmen started repairing the road with pneumatic drills, making further sleep impossible. If you plan to stay here, insist on a quiet room at the back of the hotel.

Rooms were modern, comfortable and clean and service was friendly and efficient. Carpark was very convenient and was included in the price. Though the 'double' bed was actually 2 singles pushed together so there was a small gap in the middle but not a big deal. Breakfast was also great with a variety of choices.

The entire staff of the hotel was very courteous and helpful. Some of them went out of their way to assist in making other hotel reservations and in confirming airline reservations. All of them were polite and friendly.

Very competent and helpful staff, excellent service. However, we were given a room on the last floor, without windows (kind of things you don't think of checking when making a reservation). And the skylights make it extremely noisy in rain conditions. So, ask for a room on lower floors!

Moderdised, stylish small hotel in a central but rather run down area; however close to the port and shopping streets. We had skylights instead of windows which I found a bit claustrophobic, and lighting/desk area was a bit limited for 2 people. There was a nice garden but otherwise eating areas were a bit skimpy. Breakfast quite good.

We stayed in Palermo 4 nights (3 plus 1 before getting back home) and booked a penthouse room at this hotel (room 413)for EUR 130 per night (breakfast and all taxes included). Perhaps the designation "penthouse" is misleading (we were expecting a much grander room), but our actual room, even though it did not have any windows (only 2 small skylights), was so agreeable that we did not even feel disapointed. We had bathrobes and slippers and some of the hotel lighting was of top quality (Artemide). The staff was very friendly and helpfull and the hotel had an inner garden (where we had breakfast) and a small closed parking lot. We left some of our luggage with the hotel for a week without any problem. We can recommend this property to anyone looking for a good 4 star hotel in Palermo and would book it again.

The pictures of the hotel make it look far grander than it actually is. The location is not very good either, and the rooms are quite small. Having said that, it is clean, and modern looking so not a bad place. A bit far from the more 'happening areas'.

Palermo is a nighmare to drive around, and the directions given on the site are pretty useless as the city is a maze of one way streets sorely lacking in signposting! We only found our way there by driving the wrong way up one of the one way streets. The hotel is also opposite a prison - not that this had a negative bearing on our stay, but some might like to know this! The hotel itself was really lovely and the staff helpful and polite.

Great location, wonderfully restored property but my room had no window (gd floor) and no soundproofing from next room. Shame that these factors were overlooked in what was otherwise an expensive but successful makeover of the building. If other rooms are better then a great place to stay.

An excellent choice of hotel for a stay in Palermo. It is extremely well maintained and is situated in a safe and quiet part of the city within a comfortable walk of the centre and places of interest. It has the added advantage of a private and secure car park.

The room, particularly the bathroom was very clean and well-furnished. I would have gladly foregone the robes and slippers in return for better service at breakfast where the waiter was less than helpful and the coffee was certainly not up to normal Italian standards. You are encouraged to have breakfast in your room - mainly, I suspect, because the breakfast room's tables and chairs, though they look stylish, are too small and cramped together.

Our room had no windows! There was a door we could open but that led out directly to an outside public area for the other hotel guests.

The style of the hotel suited us. We do not like a lot of flummery, just good service, and no bad surprises. Read a review by a spanish couple who stayed in a room at the top of the hotel, like ours, (no window) and they hated it. We liked the coolness and quiet. Staff were helpful (found bus timetables for us and reserved a table at a restaurant) without being intrusive. Breakfast was good, especially by the generally poor standard in Italy. Visitors need to understand that Italians don't care about breakfast and most city workers take a capuccino and a croissant standing up at a bar. Immediate nieghbourhood was mixed, but just a few steps from the via Liberta and a bus will take you into the old centre. Good restaurants very nearby.

The Ucciardhome is a little diamond in noisy Palermo: the welcoming is very friendly and the service great. Our room was big enough to relax after the City-Tour and the furniture was modern and really comfortable - especially the nice bathroom. When you nead space and silence while having breakfast, you can have it in your room: great service.

We were told to have booked a 'standard room', - under the roof top, nicely furnished, very nice and well equipped shower. the last third of the room is not useable for people taller than 1m80. very warm, no window, no aircondition available. we had to change rooms after one night as we couldn't sleep. upgrade price 40€. the new room was very spacious, less completely equipped, no window, but large terrace door. we had to leave it open all night, as otherwise we couldn't get any fresh air. when checking out we were charged 120€ for the first night, while i believe to have booked for 100€. bottom line: charming hotel, nice design gadgets, very competent staff, but severe lack of useability.

We traveled across Sicily and then to Florence and Rome. In the process we stayed at several hotels of various "Star" ratings. Of the all, Ucciardhome was the very best with not even close competition.

Very nice design hotel. we appreciated our stay. But be sure to get a room to the backside. The front side to the street is very noisy, even with shut windows. we changed the room without any problem. Very helpful staff and excellent service all in all.

A great welcome and well located (once we found it - they could do with sending directions with the confirmation email as Palermo is a nightmare to drive round). The communal areas were smaller than we had anticipated, and they could do with a place for residents to relax / read in. And there are no views worth speaking of. But this was all more than offset by the incredibly friendly service and fun modern rooms.

Really nice hotel - excellent staff, very stylish and modern rooms - recently decorated. The rooms were quiet even the street facing ones, great shower as well. The hotel's about 300 meters walk down Via Albanese from the main street. Would recommend this hotel to anyone and will use it again if we return to Palermo. The hotel is almost directly opposite the Ucciardone prison, home to many mafiosi. More a point of interest than anything as the area felt safe, the prison itself is an old fort and is quite photogenic.
