The map says it's 5 minutes from the train station. It's more like 15 but it's not hard to find if you look for the post office telegraph building and follow the signs. Our room had absolutely no view but was very quiet. The breakfast is very nice (had yogurt)and the hotel has a nice sitting area and will keep your luggage after checking out. It's an excellent value for the price.

Ladies at reception were very friendly and helpful. The room itself is quite spacious. What I didn't like is the shower cabin - i guess such hotel could use some extra detergent. Air condition was turned directly to the bed and noise from the street kept us from opening windows. Breakfast consisted of coffee/tea and bun. Would return if the rates stay low.

Nice, clean hotel very central location, just what you need if you only use your hotel for sleeping. I had room 112, very quiet against back alley ! I will stay there again ! Breakfast is italian, meaning müsli and dry plastic toast !

Breakfast was a total rip off, 6 Euro for a croissant. Better, cheaper accomodation available in Palermo, look elsewhere.

Located in a not-very-attractive side street, the hotel is nevertheless in a good position relative to the centre of the city. Rooms are basic but clean. The shower cubicle was tiny - larger guests might have had problems. Air conditioning in our room barely coped against the heat (September - 34 degrees outside) but was better than nothing. Satellite TV didn't work but we didn't miss it as we were out all the time. Parking was in private, individual garages so we had to ask for the car each time we needed it and then leave it with a hotel employee to park afterwards but although this was less convenient than a 'normal' car park it was dealt with efficiently by the hotel and is normal for hotels in Palermo. Breakfast basic but good. Overall a decent hotel, fantastic value for money. If we needed a hotel in Palermo again we'd go back without hesitation.

Excellent location, close to the restaurant and bars district in a small street, very into the atmosphere of the city and close to the main street via Roma. The room was very clean and spacious, the staff was incredibly kind. Would absolutely recommand it.

The hotel was very difficult to find as the map on venere.com and the corresponding description is most insufficient. The employees were all very friendly. The breakfast was (compared to German standard) simple, but ok with excellent coffee (as is to be expected in Italy!). The tiny garage provided for for 15 Euro per day required expert driving skills to enter and leave without major damage. All in all we had a comfortable stay in pleasant surroundings, with a surprisingly quiet room and friendly service. I would judge the relationship between prica and quality as very good!

No hair dryer in room. only croissant and coffee for breakfast, nothing else. Smelly bathroom with no windows. No fridge in bedroom. Horrible neighbourhood, noisy and decadent. AND THE RATING OF THE HOTEL IS A 3 STARS AND THE PRICE WE PAID WAS 125 EURO FOR A DOUBLE ROOM!!!!!!!! It should be a 2 starhotel priced at 60 euro max!

I arrived from US tired at midnight and was quickly and kindly taken care of. Left after a continental breakfast and great cappochino very early. Further from the central train station than I had expected with heavy bags to drag...maybe a half mile. Actually I had planned to pick up a rental car at the station but it turned out that rental cars were at a different station a 10 min cab ride away. had to take bags up stairs without an elevator so not great for masture folk. The staff would probably have helped me if I had asked as they were very nice.

We stayed here for 3 nights. We chose the hotel for it's location about a 10 minute walk from the Stazione Centrale. The reception staff were welcoming. The room was okay, spacious and clean enough but a bit sparse and not all the lights worked. The bathroom was a bit on the small side and the shower cubicle was pretty small (and neither my partner or I are big at all !). Breakfast was a simple but nice buffet with good coffee. The location was good for getting around Palermo but we did find it very noisy on the first night-mainly traffic (and horns), a neighbour and the rain. The following two nights were a lot quieter.

Although centrally located in Palermo and reasonably easy to find, it's hidden in a very narrow and dingy back street and tricky to get a car to the door with the one way system and the nightmare vehicle and suicidal pedestrian traffic. However, they parked the car for me in their garage (15€). The room I had was enormous and very well appointed, and above all quiet in this very noisy city. Good breakfast buffet. With the garage, the night's stay was expensive, however, but probably worth it given the look of other nearby hotels.

Our welcome at the Posta couldn't be bettered. The staff were wonderful, the room was spacious and immaculate and the hotel is well positioned to make the most of Palermo. Although it didn't really cause us any discomfort I must mention the lack of facilities in the room - no fridge/mini-bar, no hair dryer, no toiletries except small bottles of shower gel and soap and a fairly small shower, albeit in a huge bathroom, and a very basic, even if adequate, breakfast - one type of cereal, rolls, small pastries and tea or coffee and juice. It's reasonable to expect better at this level and price point and these things detract from an otherwise wonderful hotel. Something as simple as fresh fruit would have made a big difference. With those caveats I still recommend the Posta and will certainly stay there again.

The hotel claims to be a 5 minute short walk from main train station. It's a brisk 20 minute walk, 10euro taxi ride. the hotel is also located on what americans would call an alley not really a street, even though it has a name.

The rooms appear not to have been renovated since the 1970s. All fittings are delapidated. Also there are bars on all the windows - bit of a prison feel. The voyer is much cheeryer than the rooms. This place seems to bank on its reputation as an actor's hangout rather than on quality accomodation.

Posta was very well located in central Palermo although we did experience some difficulty finding it in the first instance. It was an excellent hotel and very convenient for visiting Palermo. Logically I should have realised that it would be located near to the Post Office by its name, but I didn't until after arriving, and then the penny dropped.

Forget the two star rating. While the Posta is not the most deluxe hotel in Palermo by any means, the rooms are cleaner, more comfortable, more spacious, and better placed than are those of most of the 4 star hotels in town. The staff are very helpful. The Posta is one of the best hotel finds in Sicily.

Some of the rooms of the Posta hotel do not have windows; they first gave us a room like that, but changed it when we complained. It might be worth checking that when booking. Otherwise we have no complaints at all, even though the hotel is at a noisy location, they have very good windows that block out the traffic almost completely! The staff are very friendly and competent. Breakfast is a bit on the meagre side, but that's usual for Italy. Very good coffee, though. Would go back.

I would not reccomend this hotel to anyone as I was mugged outside it at 9pm on my first night. The staff did not seem overly suprised by this yet there was no security camera outside which would have caught the muggers on camera. I would advise anyone going to Sicily to think again. The people are incredibly rude and the surroundings are dismal. Tourists are not welcome and you will be ripped off by every taxi driver.

The location is brilliant for exploring the city, and because it is off the main road (Via Roma) there is little traffic noise. Check out the photos of old Palermo in the hotel corridors. Rooms are very comfortable, with crisp cotton bed linen, and clean towels every day. Don't miss out on breakfast, the coffee is great and if you time it right you will get the pick of sweet croissants.

The room we stayed in looked nothing like the web pictures, but it was very clean and the bathroom was large compared to Italy standards. The bed was also very comfortable and the room was cleaned every day. The hotel was on a side street off a main street, so it was close to all the hustle and bustle, but was relatively quiet at night. The breakfast left a bit to be desired, but there were plenty of little coffee shops on the main road to get a croissant and a cappucino. Overall, if you are looking for a good quality stay, this hotel is very good.

This hotel gives a good value for the money. The location is very convienent for the main opera and museum buildings, a walk to the railway or bus stations takes only about 20 minutes. The service is good for a 3-star hotel. They have intenet use for guests, for a small fee. My biggest problem was the noise level, as one of the main roads is a small block away.

In spite of the property’s location in a dingy alley, the hotel was quite lovely. There was a pleasant welcome from the staff and it was easy to reach the hotel from the train station. It would have been nice, however, if they had provided directions before arrival. Location was very central and convenient. The room was spacious and airy with luxurious afternoon light filtering in through the double-paned balcony doors, which virtually eliminated street noise. I’d definitely stay there again.
