Met expectations well. Hotel staff very helpful and friendly. Room great but sleep spoiled by noise of constantly running water - plumbing needs a bit of attention! This was only minor irritation otherwise lovely. Full of character, excellent staff, good breakfast and good location.

Price of our first night was with 6o € ok., but when we asked for 2 nights from 1st to 3rd avril, they offered 125€ /night. This was the best price, they offered to us and we accepted it, because we didn't like to look for another hotel in Palermo.

The room had a few antiques and was well decorated. The front desk was exceptionally helpful in making other reservations. Letizia's location made it convenient to walk to Palermo's sites. We would stay here again.

Good value for a capital. Nice restaurant next door. Good breakfast. Parking is in the street, and controlled by 'attendants' but only a euro or two to guard your car. Not far from major sights and markets etc. Non-collection of street rubbish did not help. Different area next time.

The room was huge and bathroom very nice. Is located "near" the train station but in a very noisy and probably dangerous area. I think it has a great value equation (great price for a great stay).

This was my first visit to Palermo and I needed to be in that part of the old City, but the amount of building renovation going on in Via Bottai and the Porta Felice end of Corso Vittorio Emanuele made the surrounding area untidy and noisy. Excessive traffic penetration also makes walking on some pavements and back streets unpleasant.

This Hotel is ideally located if you want to explore the city on foot. We walked everywhere and it had some nice restaurants within 500 yards.

We had a very nice stay in this charming hotel with a lot of character. it is perfectly located in the haert of the city, at walking distance from the most important places. We loved the atmosphere of nearby Piazza marina. From my point of view, the bad comments found on other sites about this hotel can be disregarded, especially if you look for typical places. The many steps and narrow stairs might be difficult to climb for some people.

This was our first time at the hotel. It is located in the center of Palermo, which makes it very convenient for walking around. The room is exceptionally spacious and comfortable. Services provided by the hotel are relatively poor, although the staff have been very kind.

Nice hotel in the centre of Palermo, and with a pair of cheap restaurants very near. The hotel does not have elevator, but this is very normal in many hotels in Sicily. The room where you have breakfast is a few little. The room was ok (unless the humidity, witch is normal in this city); it was very spacious.

Although we were only two nights in Palermo, we enjoyed our stay at the Letizia. It's not difficult to find - a turning on the right as you go downhill towards the sea down the Corso Vittorio Emanuele - and its a doorway just before the first of the two restaurants. No lift, so you need to carry luggage up to the first floor reception (and then maybe up another floor) and there is a degree of street noise - it's not a busy road, but Vespa noise does tend to bounce off buildings - but what do you expect from Palermo? Staff helpful and friendly, breakfast filling, room spacious and furnished with old (but tasteful) wardrobe and chaise longue. Bed fine, everything clean, our bathroom modern (shower over bath, but no shower curtain, so a little risk of flooding bathroom). Guess you can see Palermo and Monreale in a couple of days. We did, before moving on as planned to Siracusa. A good cheapish hotel for a temporary stay.

We are 80 and 75 years old, respectively, and had great difficulties carrying our suitcases up 6 narrow flights of stairs after 22 hour of travelling from Arizona to Palermo. Once that was accomplished we enjoyed our double room in Hotel Letizia very much as well as its location surrounded by excellent restaurants. We had great difficulties finding the hotel at night because Palermo has very small street signs if at all. The son of a butcher was so kind to direct us on his motor cycle to the hotel.

I booked this hotel with no idea as to where it was situated. I did well. It is perfect for a city break and within walking distance of most of the sites. My only criticism of the hotel, and it was the only one, was the ringing of a church bell very early in the morning. I have to make it clear though that this did not bother us at all, and in fact added to the charm of this interesting city.

A good location, not too far from the centre and near many good restaurants. Room near reception was a bit noisy in the late evening. Nice spacious rooms and bathrooms. Missing light bulbs in both our rooms and broken shower in one bathroom. Ample choice at breakfast. Would use this hotel again.

We arrived at the Letizia after a stressful drive from Palermo airport and found the friendly welcome we received a great relief. The staff were helpful and arranged for our car to be parked overnight in a nearby garage (only 10 euros). Our room was clean and spacious with A/C, fridge and TV. The hotel is situated near the Piazza Marina just off Via Vittorio Emmanuele and has plenty of cafes and restaraunts to choose from and if you fancy venturing into central Palermo it is only a 10 minute walk to Via Roma/Via Macqueda. Overall we found the hotel to be a great introduction to Palermo and highly recommend it especially if it is your first night in the city.

We stayed 2 nights 8-9 February 2005 and the hotel room, service and location (quiet and handy) are all definitely recommended. We had a triple room that actually provided the space you need, not just an extra bed crammed into a double. We too could have done without the stairs, but that is a very common problem in older Europe. We had no problems with security, although clearly this city has a good number of unsettling streets and a lot of problems to overcome to realise its true potential - dog filth and truly insane road behaviour (even by Italian standards) being top of the list. Palermo has some dazzling attractions that largely compensate however.

Beware, do not stay here as the area is very dangerous and my wife was mugged at the hotel door. The hotel entrance has a security access panel at front door in which you punch in a number to gain entry to the hotel and this is necessary because of the nature of the area which is peopled by quiet a few undesireable types some of which mugged my wife. The streets are also very dirty around the hotel.definitely a hotel to be avoided.

We were delighted with the hotel and the ambiance of antique furniture and boarded floors with nice furnishings. We had, in Room 105, a whirlpool bath, which was a real luxury after a grueling day sightseeing. 2 Good restaurants next door to hotel. Bad news was rooms on first floor and no lift. Elderly friend neally walked out. Good location with supermarket round corner and botanical gardens 100Ms away.

A very conveniently located hotel in a quieter street in Palermo. The room and bathroom were very clean and spacious, the breakfast simple but good, and we had excellent service from friendly staff. The price was higher than other hotels but worth the extra euros for the quality of the accommodation offered and its location right in the heart of the old town. If you are looking for a small, quiet, well-run, friendly hotel in the middle of chaotic Palermo, this one's for you.
