Hotel Italia - Palermo

Hotel Italia is ideally situated, on Via Roma, just a short walk to the bus station and a longer walk to Piazza Politeamo - there is also a bus stop outside the hotel. Titiana, the owner, is a helpful, pleasant lady with a wonderuful sense of humour and helped make our stay a really pleasant one.

The room was a bit grim but for one night it did the job. The receptionist was very friendly and jolly. Very good location for train station and airport bus. We could not an early breakfast ( at 7am), not even a cup of coffee

The hotel is located centrally on a big, safe street. The WiFi signal in the room was, however, so weak as to be useless (it is supposed to work fine around the lobby). There is also no dining area: breakfast is delivered right to the room. The room itself was quite small (but with very high ceilings, so feeling a bit like a cage), and with a balcony door that did not close well (allowing for some noise). The hotel looks like a very minimalist and aged place, but, truth be told, it DOES properly deliver the basic bed, shower and breakfast service that is expected. An allright place to spend a night at, but hardly longer. January 2012.

Great location on the main street just across the train station square, eazy reach to all major parts of the city. the rooms are clean, very well maintained, we happily stayed there for 3 nights. Hosts are warm-hearted and helpful all the time, they even cook and bring breakfast to our room every morning at our scheduled time!

Hotel is well situated. The staff did the best to provide help. Very good place.

We had a small room, but it was value for money. Staff was extremely polite and friendly. We asked for extension and they didn't make any fuss about it. Place is very close to railway station and is on main street. But if you get the room on the back side, its not loud at all. I would recommend it for budget travelers.
