The map may draw you the pedestrian entrance. The view can not be captured by a simple 10 maybe 15. The restaurant excellent and competitive in price. The nearby pizzeria (short up hill) excellent food and even better view. The bus to cenral Palermo frequent and easily accessible. The hotel was very accommodating as we arrived early and because we were taking the 7 pm ferry they allowed a 3 hour delay in departure. Wonderful stay no complaints.

Modern hotel nicely situated on a hill overlooking downtown Palermo. We had a nice spacious room with a reasonable bathroom. The bathroom needs an update. Nice balcony with an amazing view of Palermo. Hotel has WiFi and offers one hour free internet use in the lobby. Five floors down from the lobby is a restaurant – pizzeria with good local food and pleasant service. You can walk down from the hotel to a Piazza and take the bus to the center or docks in Palermo. In the morning excellent breakfast buffet. We travelled on Sicily on the motorbike and used the hotel to and from the ferry Palermo - Genoa. The hotel offered us free parking in the garage for our bike. Make sure you use the right approach route to the hotel. Check the information on the site.

Excellent hotel with fantastic views , clean and spacious rooms , decent food, friendly and helpful staff and a few miles away from the chaos of Palermo. You might need a sat nav to find it and can only easily access it by car, but once found we enjoyed the stay immensely. We were there at start of the season so the place was very quiet. I dont think it would suit families especially those with young children ,because it is out of the way, but is more suited to adults , and corporate travellers.Groups would have difficulty with coach access as the way up the hillside is narrow. If we return to Palermo we would definitely stay at Bel 3 again , very very enjoyable.

The view was outstanding. Unfortunately, finding it was very difficult during daylight and most impossible to find at night. It was very isolated.

The view from this hotel is one of the best in the world. We ate all but one dinner on our balancy because of the view. We went to the local supermarket and purchased wine, meat, cheese and bread then soaked up the view! The staff was more than competant, friendly and helpful! We read previous reviews that said the hotel was hard to find, we disagree. If you arrive in the daylight, the signs for Bel 3 are easily seen on both Viale Michelangelo and Via Leonardo da Vinci. At night this could be more difficult but doable. This is the only hotel we would stay at if we return to Palermo!! My wife even stated that she would like to return to Palermo just to stay at Bel 3.

It's a bit far away from town so don't stay here if you want to be walking distance to the action. However, the drive is okay and not too far once you figure out the directions. The hotel itself is fine - nothing special. However, the view is fantastic and the pool area is great. I'd definitely recommend it. It's nice to be away from the hustle and bustle of Palermo and have such spacious surroundings. The only bad thing is the breakfast - utterly disgraceful.

This was a delightful hotel with a spectacular view. They have a very nice restaurant. We did have a problem getting a glass of wine before dinner, but did finally get wine for our party of four. As we were past high season I felt there was less staff than might be there during capacity booking. It was a wonderful place to stay - away from the city.

We stayed one night really just as a stopover to catch a plane. There was not much in the area of the hotel but it was only 20 minutes from the airport and we had a car. The centre of Palermo was about 1/2 hour by car and the traffic was horrendous (but we were in Italy so that is expected). The people manning the fron desk were very helpful. The room was a double room with a queen sized bed and couch and was spacious and very nice. The restaurant was not very good. I suggest eating elsewhere.

Impossible to find at night - even the locals expressed doubts when asked how to get there. it doesn't appear on any detailed map we could find. only one light fitting in our entire suite worked and the night manager was unable to fix the problem or move us to another room. the breakfast was awful and plastic in look and taste. the room itself was clean and passable, the staff were pleasant (if not quite competent), and the bed was okay but that didn't make up for the hideously remote semi-industrial location and bleak facilities. stay away from this one!

This hotel was up the side of a mountain so if you are looking to be located in Palermo don't stay here. We had a car so it was ok. The photo they show is misleading as I thought it was the front of the hotel- its actually the back where the pools are. We were unhappy with this hotel due to the location and overall decor- needs a refurb. The bathrooms really needed work done on them. Breakfast was the worst we experienced on our trip (we stayed in B&Bs and hotels). The rooms, to be fair, were clean and spacious. Overall I feel that this hotel was too far out the city and not special enough to compensate for it. Would not recommend this hotel.

The Bel 3 is a lovely hotel with beautiful views across the city of Palermo and the ocean. The 2 swimming pools are clean and the view from the smaller pool is fantastic. The rooms are clean with small balconies; ours had a wonderful view! The air conditioning and electronic shutters meant that even when it was 40C outside the room could be cool and dark. Eating diiner by candle light on the terrace was very romantic. I will definitley be visiting again.

Outstanding location. It is not that near to Palermo proper but everything you need is right there. We used it to catch a plane home the next mornibg and the dinner and stay were great. The hotel was acceptable and the view of Palermo from the top of the hill was great. However finding the hotel was a real challenge. Even with a portable navigation system we managed to take a few wrong turns and ended up on some very narrow, winding, steep, dead end streets. The hotel, once we found it was quite acceptable and the restaurant was also acceptable. The breakfasts too were acceptable, but nothing memorable.

Hotel is hard to locate. Signs directing to the hotel were hard to spot and street signs in Palermo are just short of nonexistent. Cab rides to town are costly due to the distance and the day we wanted to see sites the most there was a bus strke. We eventually learned staff could help with better cab rates, but they were not very forthcoming in offering this information. No information provided at check-in at all. Morning person at desk had minimal English skills. Afternoon person was much better. Rooms were very large and clean, ours had a bathtub! What a luxury after so many small showers. View of Palermo was wonderful. Breakfast was adequate. Overall, I'd stay there again.

Palermo is a busy and difficult city to drive thru, the Hotel is located ourside the city center, so the indications posted on the light poles and trees are insufficient, also they should be posted also arriving from the east, not only from the airport.

The hotel is situated in the outer area of Palermo near the top of a moutain. The view over the hole city and the sea from our balcony was undescribable. I rented 3 rooms for our family traveling to Sicily. We had 3 double rooms, one of which was twin beds. This stay was only for one night as we were all coming into Palermo at different times and just needed a place to group up before traveling down to southern Sicily. The hotel has a beautiful view and friendly staff who spoke English adequately. There is a nice pool there taht we did not use and a terrace to enjoy the view. The restaurant was just OK, and the location of the hotel leaves you with few alternatives for dining.

I write this during our second stay at the Bel3. The location is ideal if travelling by car. The view is beautiful from the room's balcony both day and night. There are a couple of mini-marts and restaurants nearby. One can drive 10 minutes to the Giotto free parking lot and walk or take a bus around the city center. When we first arrived at the airport we called to get directions, but ended up simply following the little yellow signs that say BEL3 in all main streets. We got it right from the very first time. They have the best quality/price ratio we found in all Sicily. Two computers with Internet access are available for free at the lobby, and they were always available. Parking is also included and so is a nice breakfast. They have a swimming pool, pool table and gym. The staff is very helpful. Our laundry was generally available on the same day at the lowest price we found anywhere else. My only suggestion would be to install shower curtains.

Also ein wenig Vorsicht beim Duschen.

This hotel is a long way out of Palermo overlooking the city - so quite difficult to find despite some signage (you keep in thinking you must have missed it). It's very quiet in a residential area - almost too quiet as when we were there in early summer many of the facilities were not functioning such as the bar - it felt slightly depressing. It has a small car park - when full we would imagine that car parking is a nightmare.

The hotel is well outside Palermo and up on a hill in a residential area. You really will need a car and if so a really good map or set of directions as it is hard to find at first. Otherwise the hotel is fine, we only had an overnight stay, the decor and furnishings are a bit dated but the standards are good. We did eat in the restaurant which was fine if a little limited for choice, they seemed only to have a set menu despite a la carte being advertised at reception. The view over palermo is great.

The hotel does not have a good location. it is too far to visit the town. If you go to visit the town the location is not good. We had a lunch at the hotel and the meal was not good and the price was expensive. the relationship between price/quality is very low.The breakfast also bad. The cleanliness is a little low, the same as in all the sites we have been in Sicily.

You need a car, a good map and 25 min from the center of Palermo (assuming favorable traffic conditions) to reach this hotel, which is reasonably well announced from Viale Regione Siciliana onward. Once you get there, though, you'll be pleasantly impressed. The overview of Palermo from most rooms is breathtaking. Rooms are simply but adequately furnished; staff is generally efficient and friendly. Breakfast is disappointing, though.

Stunning view over Palermo. Able to reach the hotel from tne Airport without getting snarled up in Palermo traffic. Our minibar was short of a wine bottle - this was rectified immediately and they didn't charge us for our two drinks :). But having read the other posts here, we brought sandwiches and had a midnight feast on the balcony :)

The staff was very welcoming and although do not speak a perfect English, they tried their best to help us with directions ect. The rooms were very clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable and we slept like babies. The breakfast was the usual continental breakfast (bread, jam, coffee, cereal..). However, as we were headed off for big days and needed extra protein, they were kind enough to make us delicious omelettes. This hotel also has 2 computers hooked up to the internet in the lobby which are free to use any time. The only downside to this hotel is that it is far from Palermo (which is also nice in a way since Palermo is soo noisy and hectic) and you absolutely need a car to go to and from the hotel. Once you have done the route once, with the signs to help you, it is really easy to remember. This hotel is only 20 min away from Mondello beach by car which is a place you must visit when in Palermo! We woud definitively go back to this hotel now that we know were it is located and how to go from Palermo.

Room was "spartan" but spacious enough and everything needed was available. Prices in mini-bar are correct. A curtain over the bath tube to allow shower would have been appreciated. The restaurant offers excellent quality for price. The 2 free internet PC's at the reception hall offer an added value. For people travelling with a GPS (mine was TomTom Navigator 5.1) be warned that a good fix is difficult because of the location on a hill. My TomTom guided me to a road either uphill, either downhill.

I agree with most of the comments - yes, there are dogs, but there are dogs everywhere! My only gripe would be the thin walls and echoy corridors. Overall, it's a pleasant place to stay and I would stay there again. Bus: 120 > John Lennon Plaza, then 534 to Baida. Get off where the bus ends and walk up the hill for 5 minutes. 1 euro - no need for a taxi!

Beautiful hotel with kind, friendly, and helpful staff. The view from the rooms is magnificent. The restaurant was tasty and welcoming when we arrived after a long flight and drive. Breakfast is fabulous! We only wished we could have stayed longer!

This was the most incredible place we stayed in our travels throughout Italy and Sicily. The staff was so nice and helpful. They spoke enough english and I, enough Italian to get answers to what we needed. Thank you for putting BEL 3 signs up on the road, or we would never, never have found the place. We are already talking about returning to Sicily to travel the country and WOULD make Bel 3 our base. It was an incredible, enjoyable experience. Thank You.

The elevated position and rural situation of the hotel posed no problems for us as we used the hotel's lower entrance to walk the very short distance down to the village of Baia, where we caught the frequent local bus to Palermo. The views from our balcony were stunning. The hotel was comfortable and the friendly reception staff, able to understand and speak some English, helped to make our holiday trouble free. I would like to mention that my wife and I are senior citizens.

On the hill behind the city, airy, with a superb view, this is the ideal base for the tourist with a car wishing to explore Palermo - and it has a back door leading to Monreale. Drive to friendly Bel3 straight from the airport, with the map provided.

The Hotel and its surroundings were superb, the service was excellent, staff were very freindly. My only dissapointment was the lack of bar facility in the evening which prevented us enjoying the views from the terrace accompanied by a relaxing drink.

The Hotel Bel 3 is spacious, beautiful and highly affordable. This 3 star hotel is more outstanding and comfortable than most 4 and 5 star hotels I have been to. Fully furnished with sittings rooms living rooms, patio, pool, beauty parlor, fitness room, billard room, restaurant and so much more. Quietly and beautifully situated on the out-skirts of Palermo in the mountains with a panoramic view of the city and mountains. I loved it.

Very impressed by your Hôtel, as much as we did extend one more day. Should be better known, in any case I will recommend it to any friends visiting Palermo.

I stayed there for a night, but it was the best stop for turists that don't speak italian, it felt safe and welcoming, and they helped me with information and travelling questions.

Very pleasant and clean rooms, excellent views and friendly staff who put up with my poor language skills with kindness! Only gripes: we stayed in two different rooms on two different occasions; neither of the bathrooms had an extraction fan that worked. We found ourselves warm in the evening, first week of May, and would have benefited from a functioning Air Conditioning system: we tried to switch it on and it didn’t work. I can imagine it could be very hot in June / July / August. To be fair though, I didn’t speak to the staff about this and so I don’t know if a solution would have been readily available. If you arrive late in the evening make sure you have thought of food – there is nothing available which could cause problems if you have a four year old child! Get a proper road map of Palermo and surrounding areas otherwise you could get horribly lost as we did – the hotel can be extremely difficult to find and you cannot depend on the map you get from the website. If you are a poor sleeper take earplugs - we didn't need ours though! In conclusion I would go again – I thoroughly enjoyed our stay as did my wife and son!

Hotel is relatively far away from the city center, but can very well be found due to yellow signs close to the motorway. From the hotel wonderful view over Palermo. Rooms, kitchen and personel were good.

Good location, fabulous views. Get down to breakfast earlier than they tell you, otherwise the Italians will have eaten it all!! There are two ways (at least) up from Palermo. The southern route goes through dismal slums and very narrow stradas...very interesting, though if you lose your way there, don't expect much assistance from the locals. They do set evening meal for Euro 15, which is quite good. Nowhere else nearby to walk to to snack. Other restaurant, turn left from main entrance, then after 100m or so turn right up slope.

Very difficult to find, because it is outside Palermo on mountain. Bathroom dirty and in bad shape. Room small and not much comfort. Lausy breakfast in fast food do it your-self ambiente. Typical bus-tour hotel. Will not book again. Not worth the price we paid.
