A good place to stay in Palermo. The hotel is correct, a little bit old fashioned ...

A good place to stay in Palermo. The hotel is correct, a little bit old fashioned but there is not anything specially annoying. The rooms are comfortable, very quiet, the breakfast is a buffet with the most of the things people use to eat at breakfast and not far from the center of Palermo.

The hotel was excellent whoever the female staff at the front desk were not helpful (very arrogant). The pool was under repair which is very disappointing especially during summer. (these sort of repairs should be done in winter) Otherwise the hotel was in excellent condition & clean!!

Provides for a very good stay, with excellent and rich breakfast, at a bargain price. Space in our triple bed room could've been wider, but nothing to complain about for a short sejour. Hotel location and surrounding, however are very poor, in a highly degraded and non historical or artistic area of this fascinating port town. Palermo's public transportation limits weigh highly on this venue. If one's goal are the many beautiful monuments in the old town, a different location is a must.

with something more... it will be better. example: bank box for cash money and a souvenir shop inside Hotel are a priority because out of the hotel it's a little bit dangerous and nothing else to do. TV programs not well available in rooms.

rooms are spacious and great value for the money. We had a small problem the day we arrived and I was surprised at the lack of customer service, but I would hope it was just a case of a bad luck and not how the hotel usually operates. Great stay otherwise!

Only thing I had problem with is the internet connection. I paid for the access, and the access to internet through your provider was very poor.

Staff was helpful, comfortable room, great view of the mountains around Palermo. The hotel is a bit anonymous, but it was what we needed: a place to stay for two nights while in transit to other parts of Sicily.

Astoria Palace in Palermo is an excellent hotel conviniently located very close ti via Roma and the most frequent shopping areas. 3 km from histrocial center do not represent any problem because you will be coming for vacation/business to Palermo. The staff is very helpful, breakfast is great and the hotel is spacious and clean. Also, taxi is available infornt of hotel (watchout the maximum you need to pay for the ride is 10 EUR allthough they maight ask you to pay more) Definetly will come back and would recommend it to everyone. The exact balance between price and quality in slight favour of quality. Don't forget to go to roof top bar and jacussi since the view of city is nice.

the area of the city where the hotel is located is terrible, but this is probably true of most of Palermo. everything else was fine.

They call themselves a 4 star hotel.but it's closer to 2 stars. The air conditioning had been turned off, and could not be used. Their solution to a stuffy room was to open the window!!. However the window faces a bust street that comes alive at 6am, so sleeping was impossible.I wouldnot recommend this hotel.

I am aware that the hotel is a brand new facility. Everything was outstanding. I think that there can be an improvement on the menu that is available in the restuarant. It is kind of short. There needs to be more variety. We were pleasantly surprised when arriving at the hotel as we did not expect anything as nice as it was. Also, the hotel is very centrally located to the main shopping streets of Cantania as well as some of it's sites such as the fish market, duomo. etc. I know Catania and this is a jewel of a hotel. the price makes it an even better value.

This is a truly difficult review to write because the first person to greet me at the desk was very helpful. He arranged a last minute tour to Agrigento and also did his best to make me feel welcome. Later,I found it difficult to believe I was in the same hotel. I asked for a beer at the bar and was rather coldly told by the bartender that they did not serve beer. I wondered if any one else was surprised as me that a full bar in Italy did not serve beer. My room was good sized, but appeared very little like the picture. The room was old and past the point of the cleanliness expected from a four star hotel. The table was sagging and the chairs not at all "elegant". I ordered room service dinner and breakfast(s) that were served on time and very good. The hotel seemed to be geared toward domestic business clientel. Each day their congress center and restaurants were full of people. However, I think I was their only foreign tourist. The neighborhood is vibrant, but many of the sidewalks are littered with dog feces and garbage. In addition, the hotel is far from everything to see (with no shuttle). Palermo is a very large city and this hotel is not centrally located for easy touring. The strongest impression I left with was that I had found a place in Italy where people were not friendly. There were very few smiles that made you feel welcome. I would not recommend the hotel to my friends, and I got the feeling that they could care less about serving a tourist clientel.
