We've stayed at this hotel 3 times now. It's within a short walk of the bus and rail, station so ideal for a transit day. I love the palace style furniture. Very welcoming and helpful staff. Up 2 flights of stairs, so you need to be fit.

This was our first visit to Palermo. The hotel was excellent value for money, the rooms and communal spaces were wonderfully ornate and glitzy. Our room was at the back not facing the street so no views but quieter! En-suite shower room with towels changed every couple of days. Air con in our room too if needed. You get used to the stairs - but there are a lot of them even though it is described as the second floor, but the building is old, with tall ceilings and marble stairs, so taller than your average house! The breakfast was the most disappointing part, no real coffee available - but if you like sugary croissants etc. there was usually plenty of it. We would happily stay here again, its a peaceful haven when Palermo is hot and busy and central enough to come back to in the middle of the day.

Hotel has ideal position for exploring city - in central Via Marqueda, which is ideal for shopping and start point for city sightseeing. Staff was very helpful and polite, they all had answers for all our questions and were quite friendly to us. Breakfast at hotel is sweet, but quantity of food is quite enough. Rooms were spacious and very clean, furnished with old fashioned, romantic furniture, which was ideal for young couple stay. Would highly recommend this accommodation - it definitely deserves more than 2 stars rating. If we ever come to Palermo again, this would be our choice for stay.

nice old stylish hotel, 10 minutes walking from the station. helpful, flexible and communicative staff, warm welcoming. light italian breakfast. clean but smelly rooms. cons: extremly noisy street for sleeping, so make sure to be very tired at the end of the day. hotel on 3rd floor, no lift, prevent big suitcases/luggage..

The hotel was quite according to our expectations. However, some things made our staying a little annoying, like for example, that the wi-fi did not reach our room so we had to go to reception to use the internet connection. The person who received us was excelent and did help us with everything we needed, but the rest of the staff was not so friendly. The room when we entered smelled like having been closed for a while... Last, there was no soap in the bathroom.

This hotel exceeded all our expectations. Its kitchisch interior in true mediterianian style was every bit as adorable as you can see on the pictures. Rooms were clean and comfortable with a well working airconditioning. The staff were extremely helpful, even when we bothered them for very specific information about a trip we wanted to make for about 2 hours they remained very relaxed and helping, definitely more so than average. Definitely very good value for money at a rate of 55e in the middle of the high season!

Location for tourism is excellent. Service was very good. Surroundings were interesting because of various ethnic groups - backside of this was the fact that some people around were very noisy at night time.

the hotel is very nice, rooms clean, well equipped and decorated, the breakfast is rich and delicious, however the noice from downstairs pub is too lound, we couldn't sleep all night till three in the morning. the B&b is so close to the bus station and at the beggining of the shopping street. everything was perfect except the noice, it was a saturday night, maybe during the week it can be different.

I think the price and service are reasonable. I enjoyed staying here. One thing I have to note is the noise. Because Alessandra stands on Via Maqcueda which is one of large streets, the traffic made noises almost all of the time...

The hotel was great, excellent location, good staff, good room, etc but there was one really big problem : BEDBUGS! Our first room were bedbugs-infested !, on and under the mattresses, on the wall. They changed our room and the second one was bedbug free but still...

We got to this hotel exhausted after a long train trip, and were dispirited to find the many steps up which we had to haul our bags. However, it was worth to encounter the beautiful rooms, gorgeous furnsihings and brillient staff. Rooms were all freshly painted. Staff speak great English and were very helpful, and the place is gay friendly. The hotel is close to the train station but also accesible to the main points of interest.

There was problem with paying with credit card. The staff said it will be no problem in next day, so it must be some incompetence not technical difficulty. There are few banks and ATM's in this area, but they could not point exact location of them. Also only the 3 ATM I found was working (Sunday noon time). There is no lift in hotel (second floor), and hotel is located close to busy road, so it is not very quiet if you keep your window open. On the other hand location is good, as it is close to railway station and historic centre of the city.

The hotel is very close to the central train station, where is also the main stop of the bus to the airport, and to the main monuments of Palermo. The hotel is in the second floor of an historic house with no lift. The room was huge with great views and clean. The breakfast was ok but a little poor (coffee and croissant.

They seem to prefer Cash to Cresit card and it takes persistance to gt them to accept the Crdit card. Excuses are made that the system dosen't work. If paying by card I recomend you ask well in advance before leaving otherwise you could end up running around Palermo trying to find a Cash Machine at the last minute. On the second stay a differnt excuse was made!

The staff was excellent. Palermo is noisy and although we requested and received a room off the street, it was still noisy - from noise from the back streets. The room was great although the shower was small. At night, the major street seemed pretty safe but the side streets in the area were questionable. Other than that the location is good. Easy to get to the train or main bus station. Near the market area and several key sights.

The Alessandra was perfectly located for exploring Palermo. The staff was lovely and helpful and even provided a tour for us one day. Our only dissatisfation was the smell from the shower drain masked by a highly perfumed air freshener. I'm not sure which was more objectionable, the musty smell or the strong perfume!
