Everything is excellent, except garage (or any other parking) is only public garage, a few blocks away.

Padua and/or hotel do not provide signs to get to historic district nor to the hotel until you are 2 blocks away, then you go 8 blocks in a circle of narrow one way streets to final get there. Town is impossible to drive in and park. Had hotel staff park the car in their garage - expensive 18 E per day - but worth it since no other option. Great location, once there, but noisy on Saturday night since thousands of students and hundreds of bar cafes, one across a narrow steet from the front door.

The hotel is very nice, is in a great location, but the bar next to the hotel at night and until very high hours is unbearably noisy and loud. On this side of the hotel, they should have double windows. Air conditioning stopped working, the reception was notified and they said they couldn't do anything

One of the best hotels in Italy for the price. Staff was mostly helpful. One employee reported our citizenship as American and should have reported it as Italian. This caused some minor problems but the manager had a letter written that straightened out the problems. Overall, a highly enjoyable experience.

This is a lovely hotel centrally located in Padua, and not many hotels are centrally located. Near the churches, restaurants, major piazzas, and shopping areas you will want to frequent. The staff are competent and professional and helpful. The breakfast is excellent, with fresh fruit, hot and cold dishes, cheeses, breads, and desserts. The downside to the hotel is the same as its advantage--its central location. Padua is a university town, and on at least two nights a week the students socialize en masse including right under your windows on the front of the hotel and it is noisy (but not rowdy) until after midnight. We didn't mind it, but others might. You can request a room in the back which does not front on the street, which might be quieter. The other problem we encountered was the computer being down for the five days we were there, resulting in no internet or email access.

Excellent hotel, beautifully decorated, spacious room, friendly and competent staff, nice breakfast. The hotel definately met the 4* standard. Current top floor refurbishing works were not noticed by us. The location is excellent. A local taxi driver may be required to get there but all the sights and restaurants are within 5-20 slow walking minutes. If the hotel goes non smoking (refurbishing?)some facility outside should be created.

Great location, minutes from Piazza delle Erbe. Big room, helpful staff. A bit noisy at night; lots of students partying in bars on a Friday night.

Lovely lobby area etc.,very opulent and spacious. Superb breakfast choice with excellent portions. Otherwise not as nice as expected and very expensive. Didn't care much for Padua, and at night it seemed to be full of yuppies, students and wannabe DJ's. We should have stayed in Vicenza,a total contrast.

Nice hotel centrally located in a fascinating university city full of arcades, shops and students. No restaurant but good ones close by were recommended. Easy walking to most tourist attractions and trams to the station.

The Toscanelli is in the centre of Padua and a great find. The service was excellent, very helpful staff ( listen to their restaurant recommendations ). It is noisy..this is a lively university city but we loved it. The hotel is in the pedestranised part of the city; a car is not a good idea. Wonderful cafes, squares, easy to walk to the major sites. Do not miss the Giotto frescoes but you need to book 72 hours ahead.

It was our first visit to Padua and we found the staff very helpful in advising what to see and where to eat in the short time we were there. The hotel was well placed and can find almost no fault with the accommodation and service we received. Should we visit Padua again, we would certainly choose to stay at Toscanelli.

Had a very good experience at this hotel. The location was wonderful! Just a block from the morning marketplace and the university, and within walking dist. of everything charming about Padova. Great breakfast room with especially good food. Our room was super comfortable and attractively decorated, good vintage furnishings, retained many original details of the old building. My only quibble would be they were not overly warm - rather very efficient. But not the hotel for someone who needs a lot of English spoken or lots of hand-holding and advice about what to do around Padova. They were pleasant but not really outgoing as far as reaching out to sightseeing-type guests. Our room was on the top floor but right above the small bar at street level - it was somewhat noisy each night until around 10, then really quiet the rest of the night. But the noise wasn't obnoxious and didn't detract from my stay.

Good quality friendly service in the historic part of Padua. Breakfast arrangements and service could be improved but otherwise the hotel lived up to expectations.

a very good old hotel in the city center of Padova. Close to all attractions and shopping area. This hotel suits middle-ages to elderly independent travellers who love to walk around this vibrant city. A bit pricey, but it worths your money.

Excellent stay, right in the middle of Padova. Very nice room. One small point was that there was no computer connection in the room although one was available in the lobby.

Staff seemed totally disinterested and guests were treated as if they were just another number in the book. No warmth of welcome or concern for your enjoyment of your stay. Public areas uninviting.

We went to Padua to look at the city and the university as our daughter will be studying there for a few months from February. The hotel was ideally situated for all that we needed, the staff were friendly and helpful and we will definitely go back!
