Hotel Giovanni - Padua

All very well

Only disadvantage is the location, as needs a car for reasonable access, but there is plenty of free parking

This has been one the best hotels I have ever been. All what I can say are good things: rooms are spacious and clean, no problems for parking your car, great hospitality from all the staff (worth mentioning Stefania) and breakfast is great (you cannot miss the pastries prepared by Nadia, who is also a charming person). Price is excellent for all services provided by the hotel. Undoubtedly, I will return if I want to go to Padua (or Venice). The only problem for those who don't travel with a car is that is located 4 km from city center.

I was extremely satisfied of Giovanni Hotel in Padua. excellent location if you have a car (free and secure parking in front of the hotel). Staff is friendly and competent. Excellent breakfast: a large buffet with home-made cakes. Would definitively recommend it.

The hotell was a challenge to find by car, allthough it was near the city. Rooms were rather cheaply furnished. For one night ok.

I stayed 2 nights in June 2009. The room has a window that opens, air-conditioning, TV, phone, mini-bar. I had a large room with double bed and a spacious, clean bathroom. The staff are excellent, providing factual, useful information. They are great ambassadors for their hotel and the city. The hotel is ~3km from the city centre, but there are 2 buses which go frequently through day. These finish at 8pm, so need to walk or catch a taxi after this time. There is a shortage of restaurants in the immediate area, but staff directed me to a fantastic little place ~1km walk away (Voglia di). The breakfast room is large & comfortable, providing a great selection of cold foods or the friendly kitchen staff will offer cooked selections. A 4 star hotel at a 3 star price.

Excellent breakfast. Helpful staff and very nice room. Would recommend for people who don't mind being out of the town a little.

Day manager was outstanding in that she went out of her way to give us directions and provide us with local info.Hotel was overall pleasant. The only problem was the distance to the central area. we didn't want to drive because of the parking difficulties so had to take a cab each day.

Awesome. First of all, Padua is wonderful, and the Hotel Giovanni is defintely a perfect place from which to enjoy the city. It is a bit outside the city center, but extremely easy to get there and back. Even by walking. Staff is incredible; you cannot help but feel right at home. Highly, highly recommended.

Hotel, rooms, service and breakfast were excellent. Drawbacks were location, far from the city center (but near the motorways), and noise of highway traffic (nevertheless, windows had good isolation).

For cleanliness and friendliness could not be bettered. Good breakfast. Other facilities limited, but adequate. Situation a bit isolated, but city centre quickly and easily reached by bus or taxi. Recommended.

What a rare find. This hotel came as a surprise. The description and pictures do not do any justice to the real thing. Although not centrally located in Padova, the hotel is an easy bus ride from downtown and its major attractions. The staff was extremely welcoming; in fact, we had a feeling that they were waiting for us when we arrived. The room was very spacious, quiet, clean; and the bathroom was ultra-modern. As I said, quite a surprise on the heels of a less interesting stay in Venice. I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Padova or Venizia as it is well worth the short drive to the latter.

Location is not ideal. Nothing to do, see nearby. Not near public transport. 10 min. walk to fair. Breakfast was exceptional.

I really loved this hotel. They have the KINDEST, MOST HELPFUL STAFF I've ever seen. They were so smiling, willing to advise customers, willing to make my stay there confortable!!! A++++!!! Coming to the hotel, rooms are very very cute, clean, right size, full of light and quiet. Bathroom was also very nice and soap&co were such a good quality!!! The breakfast was absolutely perfect, excellent quality, and also the staff for breakfast was so kind to me... Coming to the area, the hotel is not in the centre but walking to the centre takes 30 min by foot (nice walk on river side, I like walking) or there is the bus stop (number 9, or diretto basiliche) to the centre 2 minutes away. The problem could be that in the evening busses stop at 2030 so you have to take a taxy, what is easy anyway, and leaves you in front of their door. The area close to the hotel at night isn't very nice (during the day no problem at all) as it's a street with many cars and lots of people doing their business, but if u have a car you can park in front of the hotel and the is no danger at all. I'd go back definitely to this hotel if I had to go again to Padova.
