This hotel is extremely comfortable, and a good value. My only quibble is with the description of their location. They describe themselves as being in the center of town. They are indeed in the "historic center" area, but they are on the very edge of that. If you are familiar with Padua (as I was not) you can simply take a tram there. If you arrive on a Sunday and cannot get good information at the station, you can end up making a substantial trek, as I did.

Very nice hotel. Very good continental breaskfast. Safe location but not in the known "heart" of the tourist area.

Hotel well insulated from external noise but room not insulated from internal noise from other guests. Convenient access to the monuments and museums of Padua (5-20 minutes walking mostly). Buffet breakfast reasonable for this price range

First I want to thank the stuff - Franco fulfilled all our room requests, Pier helped us with Italian phones. Mario, who was on duty at nights, made our stay especially pleasant, he speaks many languages, including our native Russian, he is very welcoming and patient with confused tourists, explains everything, and he gives very good advice. Thank you, Mario! Rooms and bathrooms are very clean, everything is new, the windows are sound proof. The only thing that I didn't like - the first morning I was woken up by the sounds from above - probably packing, moving the chairs, suitcases, loudly opening and closing the bathroom doors. The floors are hard, may be small paddings on the legs of the furniture or at least the chairs will reduce the noise. Next morning everything was quiet - I guess, nobody was moving out in the room above us. And no noise from the street because of the good windows. They have good breakfast and make great coffee. Nice restaurant next door, they recommend it, with 10% discount for the hotel customers. Restaurant is open late, very relaxing and friendly, they have a patio. The food is great, stuff is very nice. We arrived late after long travel from the US, and had our first (and very good) meal in Italy there. Hotel is situated in piazza Pontecorvo, both lively and tranquil, walking distance from many attractions and not far from the bus and the tram. About 12-15 euros ride from the Train station. We are very happy we went to the charming and extremely interesting city of Padova and stayed at "Giotto" instead of going to bigger and more expensive hotels by the station. We hope to return. You can buy the Padova Tourist Card from the hotel when you book it, it will give you 3% discount of the hotel price. We bought it later from the Information kiosk, so there was no discount. But the price was great anyway. Overall - it was very good, highly recommend it.

Our room with two single beds was alot less spacious than the double bedded rooms we viewed. Amenities very good as was breakfast and service. On arrival we asked where nearest bus stop was and we were told Padua is an easy city to walk which is true BUT we wanted a bus. Later discovered a little bus to the center stopped right outside the door.
