This hotel was functional if uninspiring. If you are sensitive to traffic noise its not recommended as it is situated just off the busy Prato della Valle with its many diesel busses and no buildings in between to dampen the noise. We also had a lift shaft next to the room. The room was damp when we arrived which we cured by opening the windows - something that could have been done before we arrived. Real coffee at breakfast was a plus but microwaved croissants not so hot (sic). There are better places in Padova for the money frankly.

We visited Venice during the Carnival week after a week of hiking in Northern Italy and were seeking for a quiet hotel for a good night's sleep. This is exactly what Al Giardinetto offered: two spacious rooms, very friendly service, 10-minute walk to San Marcos and very quiet surroundings. Excellent value for money!

This is a pleasant and reasonably priced hotel in a fantastic location in Prato della Valle, a beautiful part of Padua. Very convenient for St Antony's Basilica and the historic centre, a long way from the station but very easy to reach by either bus or tram with a frequent service. Ideal for sight-seeing

I found the hotel room in a relatively poor condition and not comparable with the other hotels I booked through Venere in Italy during my stay in terms of value or money. In Verona, the 3 star was less money, in much better condition and had a very good breakfast.

How to reach Hotel Al Giardinetto

By car
From the highway, take exit Padova est and turn right into viale delle Grazie. After cavalcavia Venezia, continue on via Venezia and turn left onto via Ariosto right after the traffic light at piazzale Stanga. After 500 metres, turn right into via Gattamelata. After 2 km, at the traffic light, turn right into via Cavazzana, following the indications to Prato della Valle-Basilica di S.Giustina. From Prato della Valle, turn right and proceed for 200 metres to reach the hotel.

By train
Padua central Station is 2 km from the hotel. Take bus number 3 or 8. The bus stop is opposite the hotel.

By airplane
Venice Marco Polo airport is 35 km from the hotel. Take the bus directly to the hotel area.
