Very satisfied with the hotel. Front desk was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was varied and quite plentiful. Ask for expresso or cappuccino as "American" may get you instant (in Italy,no no). It would have been nicer to be closer in to the center, but we walked and it was not a problem. Padova is a wonderful city to visit.

The hotel surroundings are not so beautiful, and with no places where to eat(only a pair of fast-food restaurants). However,i think the hotel has a good position because is not far frome the centre of Padua. Finally, the breakfast wasn't so good.

The most spacious and comfortable hotel we found on our recent trip, and good value for money. Do not be put off by the somewhat forbidding exterior. As it is near the railroad station, there is some noise from trains, but not much. The instructions are a bit difficult. When you come out of the station, there is an underpass, but you can't see it from the station. Turn right and walk about 50 meters and it will come into view. The hotel restaurant is also excellent, and a great comfort if you do not want to go out to eat.

Al Cason has a great location easy walk to the main Piazza. Across therw street is a nice little fruit stand with excellent watermelons, the restaurants had one of the better Breakfast on our trip. Free parking in their subterranean garage. The room was spacious and clean would go again.

The location is fine if you don't mind some pleasant walking. It is an easy walk from the train station and a nice walk into town. My wife and I found the service at this hotel to be top-notch. We were greeted by Lucia with many helpful tips about how to get around and how to save money. We had one dinner at the hotel restaurant where the waiter had the cook prepare a sample of an item I had ordered to make sure I would enjoy it. I could go on. Bottom line, I recommend this hotel. Oh, and in the summer, don't miss going to the melon "shop" across the street from the hotel for good fruit and fun people.

The hotel is not near the main atraction(the lake). Clean and quiet, with a beautiful mountain view, the hotel caters for older people with very modest appetite at breakfast, that don't like expresso, machiatto, cappucino coffee or cakes or fancy cheese or fruits salads .

We very much enjoyed our stay at Al Cason in Padova. It's a very easy walk from the train station and is within walking distance of the city center. A bus stop is within a block and an half of the hotel. The employees were outstanding -- the desk clerk spoke 5 languages and easily answered all our questions. The breakfast service was excellent with a very good continental breakfast included with the room. The room was quite adequate and quiet, even though the hotel is on a busy road. We enjoyed the food at the on-site restaurant. Overall, we felt this was a very good hotel and would definitely recommend it.

Al Cason is a hotel which i would recommend to people who are travelling by car. It is very convenient. On the other hand since we travelled by train, it is very near to station . We can,t say it is near the centre of Padua, however, a bus stop is round the corner, and buses are very efficient and frequent. Only one thing left us a bit disappointed. The toilets in the public area, situated in the basement, are very old and awkward. These need an urgent refurbishment otherwise, we would go again

The hotel is excellent, with friendly staff. The breakfast is good and there is free internet access in the lobby. The location is about 20 mins walk from the tourist attractions in the centre of town, so you should choose this hotel only if you are happy to walk. It is about 10 mins walk from the station which was convenient for day trips to Venice.

The hotel is preatty, clean, new and the staff is very nice, helpful and smiling. The distance from the hotel to the station is ok (5 minutes by foot), a MINUS POINT to the distance to the centre of Padua: you need at least 20 minutes (by foot). But if you like walking, no matter! The surrounding area of the hotel is quite dissapointing (as it's usually around all main stations): desolation and emptiness... a big ar park and nothing more...not the best area in the night. The breakfast was very simple, but with a great FRESH macedonia! ;-)

Hotel Al Cason is a very nice place to stay. Rooms are quiet, spatious and very clean, although the furniture is a little "old-fashioned". The staff is extremely kind and helpful and makes you feel at home. The hotel surroundings are not "artistic", but they're safe and the location is convenient: very close (walking distance) to the center of the town and to the train station (there's a train to Venice every 30 minutes).

Our initial impression was very disappointing - the hotel looked nothing like the pictures - very clever photography! There was a strange mix of decor - old fashioned alongside modern art! They have obviously tried to update, but the rooms struggle to reach 3 star standard. The area round about is not great - the only plus being the proximity to the station for travel. (Unfortunately you get the noise from the trains) However the staff, were very friendly and very helpful. The rooms were clean and adequate.

Two couples from states stayed two nights. Driving our rental to the hotel was a bit of a trick with the (south-only) one-way section on the street just west of the wall, forcing us to go inside the wall for 200 m and back out at the next opportunity. The signage on the hotel was very adequate (better than average Italian :-). Al Cason is on a pretty busy street but in-front parking was available to unload and the parking below the hotel, after check-in was fine. Location was, as expected, near enough to the train station to meet and send-off friends from Venice and to Caoella Scrovenigni. BTW, CS was a wonderful experience. Worth the 8 Euro (Monday price). Hint: the set of larger panels in the upper cathedral at Asissi and with digital audio guide, makes your Giotto experience even better. Prima collotzione (included) is not just coffee and brioche. Even had boiled eggs, a boon to any Type IIs in your group.

The pictures doesn't make any justice to the hotel. This hotel is wonderful and I will stay there again and recomend it without restrictions. It's super modern (even has a plasma tv!), the bathroom was wonderful but the BEST was the breakfast... (TREMENDOUS with excellent capuccino!). Is very near the train station, but the adress in kind of confusing in the description, send an email to the hotel asking for less complicated directions (it's almost straigth from the train station 3 blocks ahead).

This would not be a suitable place to stay for anyone who does not like to walk and who mainly wishes to visit central Padova but for a traveller wishing to go by train to other places in the Veneto, the hotel's nearness to the station is an asset. We were interested in Padua because of its historical and artistic history. Al Cason is a clean, well run hotel located conveniently close to the railway station. Unfortunately the location is far from scenic or historic and, while this is reflected in the price, it did dim our initial impression.

The Al Cason is delightful. it is at walking distance from the railway station. The staff were excellent, charming, helpful and extremely competent. All spoke good English and were kind enough to reply in Italian when addressed in that language. Breakfast was excellent, dinner also. The hotel is just outside the city walls, but is easy walk distance from the the centre of the city. Padova itself is magical. I shall certainly try to stay at Al Cason when I return to Padova.

I enjoyed my stay in this hotel. The only thing was that it got a bit cold at night as I could not manange how to operate the air conditioning. The hotel is in a good location. Reasonable hotel with pleasant helpful staff in an uninspiring, slightly scruffy area on a busy road near Padua station (we could hear the station announcements from the bedroom if the window was open). However it is only a short walk to the historic centre of Padua and restaurants and shops etc. Padua is lovely and well worth a visit. Good breakfast. Helpfully given details by reception staff from internet of trains to Treviso- unfortunately not told there was a transport strike on(as usual) so train was not actually going to its destination. Fortunately we had left enough time to get to airport anyway - otherwise we would have missed the return flight. Beware the Italian transport strikes because your travel plans are likely to be rendered non existent. Having said all that I would not have a problem staying at this hotel again, but would probably not recommend it to anyone as an ideal base for a Padua visit.

The hotel is a five minute walk from the bus stop and a 12-minute walk from the edge of the historic part of the city. I object to your listing "gay couple" in this questionnaire. This hotel really had two problems - walking to it from either the city or the railway station is through an unsavoury area that I would not have felt safe in alone. Also it was located on a very busy road, the heating was set very high and could not be reduced, so to get some cooler air required having the windows open - creating noise. The actual room and hotel was great, the restaurant on site provided an excellent menu and quality of food, however it was a 5-10 minute walk to one other restaurant and nothing else was nearby.

Not an especially nice area but the proximity to the train station (10 minutes walk) made it an excellent choice for getting into Venice in around 45 minutes for about 7 Euro return. The restaurant and the dessert trolly were very good (only open weekdays). Breakfast was standard continental style with cooked eggs available on weekdays. The reception staff were very helpful and spoke good English. Internet was available in the lobby and reasonably priced. Do allow a few hours to see the main sites in Padua (about 30 minutes walk from the hotel).

My group of six checked in at 2:30 p.m. and the reservations were ready plus we added another room which was readily available. The reception was warm and accommodating. The hotel has excellent location nearest the train terminal. We only stayed overnight and checked in the next morning. The staff let us store our luggage while we visited more places in Padua. Although we checked out at 8:00 a.m. we were allowed to wait at the lobby for our afternoon train out of Padua. I recommend Al Cason anytime.

Al Cason is situated outside of Padua city centre, in a street more dedicated to parking lots and car workshops than to hotels, within easy walking distance from the railway station (but you will find a city map useful to find the hotel). Recently refurbished, very nice bathroom with instant hot water. Breakfast good(buffet). Very nice staff. My only criticism: too few lamps in the bedroom! Padova is an excellent choice if you wish to explore the cities of Veneto, travelling by train, as there are good rail services in all directions (30 minutes to Venice). Padova is also a lovely place for quiet evening walks.

Really helpful personal service from staff. Bit of a hike to town centre and main attractions (those to south of centre)if you're doing it serveral days in a row, but lots of buses if you're feeling lazy. Excellent location for train station - with good connections - but not affected by noise from railway lines.

A nice hotel, very friendly and helpful staff. really clean, internet access, nice rooms. is a 15min walk from centre but this is reflected in the price. (was a little cheaper than quoted on the net!)

The time it took to walk to the centre was more like 25 mins than the 10 represented to us. The rooms, interiors and surroundings of the hotel are uninspired and it is in strong need of redecorating (which is underway). The car park and proximity to the railway station are a plus.

Ein durchschnittliches Hotel 10 min zu Fuss vom Zentrum, leider an der Bahnlinie, deshalb nahcts nicht allzu ruhig.

We regularly stay a few days (08.19.05.) in this well situated hotel when we are visiting of other parts of Italy. Generally we are satisfied. We realise that the owners try to improve their service (e.g. this year the breakfast was more enjoyable for a person from Northern part of Europe without increasing the price). We plan to come back again next year.

Thoroughly enjoyable stay - our room was very comfortable and of a high standard. The staff were v friendly and we couldn't have had a better place to stay in Padova - excellent value for money and I would definitely go back. Breakfast was plentiful and extremely varied too - a nice surprise!
