In general, our stay was quite pleasant. The room was clean and we had a beautiful view of the sea. Unfortunately, we only saw it one time as our shutters broke, closing off any view to the outside. When we reported this to the desk, we were told there was nothing that could be done - there was no one there to fix things because it was the weekend. So we spent Saturday and Sunday night without the view we paid for. In fairness, we were offered another room but it was smaller and did not face the sea - no point in changing rooms for that! Also, we found one desk clerk to be very friendly and welcoming and the other one......well, you got the impression that you should leave him alone because he had much more important things to do than assist you. This same clerk also told my son, who was trying to get information on where to buy bus tickets, that he didn't speak any english. I knew better because a few minutes earlier he told us what we needed to know in english. Luckily, I was there to witness this and also, luckily, I do speak some Italian. Once I stepped in, the clerk somehow found his english speaking skills. However, the location is excellent, the room was comfy, quiet and clean AND air conditioned - a BIG plus in the summer. The desk clerk also ordered a cab for us and the cab driver arrived early and was very courteous and helpful. The "cab" was a nice mini-van with plenty of room and we were taken directly to the airport - didn't feel like we were being taken advantage of at all. With the exception of the lack of view, our stay was quite pleasant.

We really liked the nite manager. He was very accomodating and helpful. We loved the newness and cleanliness of the room. We would have liked a little more variety for breakfast. Maybe some yogurt, milk for the cereal, heated cornetto and fewer donuts. So nice having an elevator. All in all I would stay again. It's the best I've stayed in along the ocean in Ostia Lido. We have good friends who live in Ostia Lido.

A great stop over for a first/last night in Rome. Minutes away from Rome Airport. The rooms were clean. Room with double beds were small, the triple is recommended if you want more space. Ocean view was beautiful, but traffic was noisy even late night...but crank on the ac and you won't even notice. Oh, no elevators, we had to carry our luggage up 3 flights of stairs. Overall we enjoyed our stay of 3 nights. Clean, comfortable, afforadable and great location.

Very convenient if you have to go to Fiumicino and would like to avoid Airport hotels. Unfortunately Ostia Lido, like most places along the coast in that area is almost destroyed by massive cementification.

The Sirenetta Hotel met our expectations for our one night stay. We had spent 5 nights in Rome and 4 in Sorrento and we selected the Sirenetta Hotel for our last night in Italy because it was near the airport and we had an early morning flight. Our room was small but had a nice little balcony with a view of the Mediterranean and was fine for one night. Our room was hot when we arrived but once we figured out how to use the remote control, the air conditioner kept the room very cool which we were thankful for. We took a taxi from the hotel to the airport which the hotel arranged and everything worked out without a hitch. The front desk was helpful and courteous. Overall, a good hotel.

The gentleman working the desk to check us in was super, with the lack of our Italian, he went above and beyound the call of duty. Telling us good places to eat, he was spot on. Sometimes Europe's idea is somewhat different than the States; but they were very accurate it's right across the street from the beach. Parking on site was safe but diffcult to get out of. We were leaving early in the morning and the restaurant wasn't open, but they opened up early for us. It was more than sufficient. The only downside no lift. For older people it might be a problem. Would definately come back to the hotel.

We had an early flight out of Fiumicino so this hotel offered a great location. Aside from using Ostia as a departure point I wouldn't return otherwise. The area felt a little run down and didn't have a lot to offer. However, for the money we paid, the hotel was a good value. The room was spacious and our room opened onto a large private patio overlooking the oceanfront.

Very nice staff. Hotel has seen better days! Even in its heyday it was a "budget" level hotel. Served our purpose but I'd look for something a bit nicer if I had to layover in Roma again. Definitely not the place to hang out for more than a night.

I have stayed in three hotels in Ostia, and this was by far the nicest. I had a room on the third floor overlooking the beach, and my patio was larger than the room! It was an exquisite way to end my stay in Italy. I needed two days to unwind from travels and work in peace. The room was immaculate. The bed was comfortable. The shower was your typical small european shower - you can't bend over to pick up the soap or shave your legs, but good luck finding one where you can. E' normale. There is not much in the immediate area; however, if you walk north along the beach there are a lot of restaurants and pay to enter beaches. South by about three blocks are the public beaches. - also a delicious restaurant called Taverna della Strega. Moderately priced. I would absolutely return to this hotel.

While the hotel was nothing special, the location was terrific. We stayed one night, and left for the airport in the early am. Use of the very nice private beach across the street is available for 10 euro, including chair and umbrella. Terrific swimming. Walking around at night with the locals was loads of fun. Had a great dinner at one of the restaurants on the beach -- nice way to end a vacation! We appreciated being able to keep our car in the gated drive way. Overall, high marks for a last night in Italy!

We stayed at this hotel for one night to be close to the airport. The directions to the hotel were not clear and did not state that we would need to drive through the entire town before we got there. It was furnished with a minimum quality furniture, but was comfortable with a beautiful view of the ocean. There is no parking, nor transportion to the airport, except with a local city bus. The restaurant which is not owned by the hotel is adjacent and connected to the hotel property and it was very good.

This is great place to stay and relax before flying out of FCO. The rooms are basic and clean, and have great ocean/beach views and private balcony. The staff was freindly. It's a basic, local beach town. If heading to airport, make sure and order taxi 24 hours ahead of time - no matter what they say. Taxis are few/far between.

I requested 3 sea view rooms and got 2 sea view rooms and one shoebox looking toward a brick wall. When I complained, I was told that there were no more sea view rooms available. My room was small and felt like a steam bath because the A/C unit was so weak. (I was there in June) There was no elevator for the part of the hotel where my room was and nobody to help with bags. Each floor requires at least 20 steps to climb, and if I hadn't had a young man with me, I don't know how I would have gotten my suitcase up and two floors to my room. The beach across the street from the hotel is so built up with tacky little bars, restaurants, etc. that you cannot see water from street level at all. It is just plain ugly. I picked this hotel for my last night in Italy because I wanted something close to the airport, but I also wanted one last look at bell'Italia. I got neither.

We stayed at Sirenetta during our visit to Rome. As this was our first time in Rome and vicinity, we were quite pleased with the arrangements to get to downtown Rome, namely train, subway, etc. It takes about 45 minutes to get to the main attractions, but the ride is worth it. When we were there, day and evening temperatures hovered around 35-25C in Rome, but were sufficiently cooler at Lido. The hotel and room were nice. The only question mark I have with respect to the cleanliness of the room has to do with the balcony, which we ended up cleaning ourselves. As we typically spent a good hour on the balcony before dinner time, the staff was very helpful in getting us a table to put our glasses on. The hotel needs some refreshing, not necessarily with fresh paint. The elevator is very small, and we had to do several trips to get our luggage up to the room, and back down upon check out. I am also not sure it is entirely secure. Otherwise, the hotel is very nice, internet access in the lobby is available, the staff is very helpful and welcoming, and the adjacent restaurant is quite good, providing typical Italian cuisine. All in all, a very satisfying stay.

Reasonably typical seaside hotel. Nothing fancy, but certainly adequate and reasonable for the price. Limited parking, but sometimes can park on street. Some evenings tend to be noisy (lots of visitors to beach). Convenient to FCO and Ostia Antica. Can't say that we'd definitely stay there again, but wouldn't rule it out, either.

A nice tourist class hotel in a great location, right across the street from a beautiful beach. Real friendly people. They let us in our room at 11:30 which was appreciated as we were dead tired. Showers were the smallest I have ever seen but the bathroom itself was large. Nice patio with a view of the beach and sea. I recommend this hotel.

The photograph were deceptive. The rooms were spotless but one was smokey. The staff were okay but not very professional. The breakfast included was not adequate.

We just over-nighted here prior to our flight out however I think the directions could be much clearer on the web as we were driving around looking for a Piazza that wasn't actually named. After spending 4 wks in Italy and adequately finding our way around, this was most frustrating.

Excellent value for the price in comparison to other Rome vicinity hotels we've stayed in. We were there off-season, and booked only one night for proximity to airport rather than beach amenities, so it depends on why you choose the location. Our flight was very early, before breakfast, so we can't comment on the standard meal. However, the staff offered us coffee and pastries to go if we wanted, which was a nice touch. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent, especially the pizza. Again, I think a very good value for the prices compared to average Rome market costs. Staff were welcoming and very helpful, making sure our taxi was booked and on time for our early flight. Only caveat - which wasn't a problem for us but could be for others: there's no lift (elevator) so if you have excessive luggage and are on an upper floor, it could be difficult for older persons or those with limited mobility. There was only one person on duty when we checked in and he couldn't leave the desk to help us, but we were a party of four, so it was OK. He apologized profusely and said in regular season there are others to help. Just a caution. Overall we'd stay there again and recommend to others.

Following an online recommendation, we used this hotel on our last night in the country in order to be close to the Rome airport for flying out the next day. The hotel and attached restaurant are fine, the location is across the street from the sea, and the guy on the reception desk was very helpful to us. Our disappointment was in the time it took to get to and from the airport due to the very heavy traffic. It cost us 100 euro in roundtrip cab fares and we still got there too late to enjoy the sunset from the balcony. Never again!!

The hotel has a good location overlooking the beach; unfortunately, access to the beach is restricted since most of it is occupied by bathing establishments. There is much traffic on the street in front of the hotel all night, necessitating shuttering the balcony door if one is to get any sleep. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We arrived without a suitcase, which had been misplaced by Alitalia, and the hotel personnel did everything to help us get the suitcase delivered. The breakfast is so so; the dinner served at the restaurant is quite good. We particularly recommend the pasta with sardines and the mussel soup. All in all, a very convenient place to stay if one wants to be reasonably close to Rome and its airport.

Sirenetta was okay for the price range it was in. However, the night we stayed the hotel was filled with groups of very noisy students around the age of 18. At midnight they were banging doors, screaming and yelling. We might have been able to put up with this, were it not for the fact that we had an early morning flight the next day. We complained to the reception about the noise and to give them their due they did go up and tell the kids to be more considerate.

Good service. Staff spoke English. Had two great meals nearby. They gave us a second floor room overlooking the water. Nice view. Overall, a good value for the money.

after several weeks of exploring Italy we decided to spend our last night close to the airport. Sirenetta was a good choice. The staff was helpful, confirmed our plane reservations for us and called a cab for us in the morning for the airport. We enjoyed the balcony and view of the water, even though it was early April and still a bit cool outside. It was a quiet room, even though it was on a main street. It was definitely Low season for Lido de Ostia and I don't know how quiet it would be on a hot summer evening! The room was nicely decorated and very clean and comfortable. We would stay there again.

When we arrived one bedside lamp would not function, even when the bulb was replaced. The desk clerk was not helpful in the matter and I had to force him to let us consider moving to a different room where all the fixtures worked. The premises were generally unattractive. The bathroom ceiling rattled and became dislodged when the door to the balcony was opened. The woman supervising breakfast was surly. Breakfast was barely adequate. If the location had not been so convenient and the view over the Tyrrhenian Sea so lovely, there would have been nothing to recommend this hotel.

We stayed our first night and last nights in Italy at this hotel due to the convenience to the airport and the fact that there was an enclosed place to park the rental car. There was noise from the traffic on the street, however we did have all of the windows open. We had a large balcony overlooking the beach and water. The restaurant within the hotel was good and we also ate at a restaurant close by which was excellent on our second stay.

Room was not ready on our arrival. Asked if we could have a coffee while we waited - grumpy man served it without saying a word to us. We were charged accordingly. Most of the staff, including reception, spoke very poor English and were not helpful when we asked about meal times and whereabouts of restaurant etc. No one offered to take our luggage to our room, we had a lot and had to make several trips upstairs in the lift which was very small. On our departure again no one was available to take our luggage downstairs. On check out, as all the other accommodation that I had done via the internet throughout Italy had been prepaid by credit card at the time of booking I assumed that I had also paid for the accommodation as I had been asked for all my credit card details. I was curtly told that this was not so. The hotel was booked because it sounded a very nice location and as it was to be our last night in Italy I wanted it to be something special. Unfortunately although the accommodation was very nice we found the staff offhand and disinterested. We paid 100 EUR which was rather expensive now that I have checked other properties and found there were others cheaper. I would not recommend this hotel to any of our friends for the above reasons therefore.

This is a typical beach hotel....slightly run down and not very friendly - especially to one night stays. Our room, although ok with a large balcony - was a long 3 flight walk-up with no elevator provided. We ended up not taking our luggage up - but just grabbed a few things. Hate to think if we were going to stay longer - don't know how we would have gotten up the stairs with it. Would expect a 3 star hotel to have an elevator (albeit small). Suggest down-grading this selection to 2 stars. One good plus, there was a small private parking lot behind an iron gate in the back which allowed us to park our car safely.

Sirenetta was a great place to stay after a long flight. It was close to the airport and fairly easy to find. This hotel is well situated for the traveler arriving or departing from the Leonardo da Vinci Airport who does not wish to stay in Rome, or pay the higher airport hotel rates. Lido di Ostia offers an easy entry or departure point to or from Italy. There are a number of good, reasonably priced restaurants within walking distance from the hotel. The hotel staff were pleasant and competent. The hotel met all of our needs. Our sea view room provided beautiful vistas of the Tyrrhenian Sea, allowing us to enjoy glorious sunsets. We returned to this hotel for our last nights in Italy. Our only suggestion is that the breakfast include cheese, yoghurt, or fruit.

Last year we stayed at Sirenetta on right side of the hotel (as you face the building) and the room were somewhat better plus they had elevator service. This year they put us on left side of the hotel. The room wasn't as good, no elevator service, and the matress was terrible. There were no electrical outlets in bathroom. They told us it was a safety requirement, but we stayed at the Mach2 Hotel in Fiumicino, a newer hotel only a few miles away, and they had electrical outlets in bathroom.

This was an 'OK' hotel. But it fronts the beachstrip which is a good location but very, very noisy both day and night. The cars never seemed to stop racing past our hotel window. The 'breakfast'was simple and small, although the cappacino was excellent. The room, too, was small but adequate for a short term stay---a few days at most. We were overnight visitors. But, candidly we would not stay here again because of the road noise which we would describe as excessive.

Sirenetta has a great location in front of the a private beach. The beach does cost 3 euro a person and is very rocky. However, the view is nice in the evening. It is located about a half mile form the train station. The room was clean and had a larger bathroom than most places. There is no lift for luggage. The staff was helpful. However, they seemed more professional than friendly. My general review they have earned their stars but I have seen sharper three star hotels.

I had a good stay at the Hotel Sirenetta. The hotel was a great value for the money, as the rooms were clean and pleasant. The location on the beach was convenient, as well as the nearness to the airport. My dinner at the adjoining restaurant was excellent.

We had a lovely 6 night stay at the Sirenetta. The position - just opposite the beach - was wonderful, and we spent some happy times on the lovely private terrace watching the ships against the sunset. The food in the restaurant was superb, although the breakfast service was a bit haphazard! Air conditioning is of the overhaed fan variety - perfectly adequate when the patio door is open to allow for a draft, but not strictly air conditioning. Lovely time spent there all the same.

Hotel Sirenetta was exactly as advertised. The rooms were small, but impeccably clean and comfortable, and all had a view of the sea. If you get tired of the fabulous beaches, there is a train into central Rome every half hour.

A very useful, if basic, hotel convenient for Rome but offering a break from the city.

The views are so lovely, the room size does not matter. However, for those used to comfort, there is no air conditioning, so the room can getr quite warm no matter what you do. Also, no elevator, so leave those heavy bags in the car. But, it IS right on the waterfron and very near the center of activity. I'd use it again (but ditch the luggage)
