Hotel Satellite Palace - Ostia Lido Ostia

We were made welcome by the rome 09 volunteers, which made a huge diffeence to the ambience of the hotel. The room's decor especially the besdspreads should be changed, I'm not sure if the age of the bedspreads make them look shabby or if they were shabby. The bathroom floor shoud have been disenfected more often. The reception was great and willing to help.

enjoyed our stayed, but was looking forward to relaxing by pool, only to be advised that pool closes from 1st September. Near the main shopping street, shortly stroll to the beach. Easy to getting to Rome and good shuttle service to take you to airport.

We expected that the hotel pool was open, since no information was given that it was closed - it was closed until next summer. The service during the breakfast was not good - many long periods without bread, ham and cheese. Two days we did not have hot water in the shower. Very poor information about this from the hotel.

Very convenient as it's close to Fiumicino Airport and the shuttle is terrific. I didn't know how to find the shuttle to take it from the airport to the hotel but think I found out for next time. The breakfast was modest and would benefit by having some fruit available. The hotel represents very good value for the cost.

I booked a three bedded room for three adults. They gave us a twin and put an occasional bed in there too. There was literally no room to walk around. After a row they put us in a suite with an occasional bed. The hot water went cold at 8.30am and 7pm.

Nice Hotel with good rooms and good service. Conveniently close to the FCO airport. However, the present dollar exchange is making the stay pricy.

The shuttle service to the airport is excellent. The only thing I would ask them to improve was the restaurant. I arrived in the evening and was very hungry after an 8-hour train ride, and the restaurant seemed to be open, but there was absolutely no one in it, no servers, guests, no one. I waited around for a while for someone to show up, and then went down the street to a pizza parlor because no one ever showed up. I booked this hotel to be close to the airport, as I was leaving the next morning for the United States. It's a great location to be the night before if you have an international flight leaving in the morning. However, after a long day of traveling from Sicily to get to the hotel, I was disappointed that I had to look around for someplace to eat. The room, however, was great, and had the nicest pillows in Italy!

This was one of the more expensive hotels we stayed at in our 2 week holiday and last one that I would recommend. If you like the big generic style hotel this is it. If you prefer charm there are better hotels in Ostia.

I stayed one night at Satellite Palace and made a return reservation for 2 months later. On my return was met outside hotel and told the aircon hadn't worked for 2 weeks and I was booked into its sister hotel, Airport Palace. Very dirty rooms, shower screen not attached, lights broken,etc. Checked Satellite Palace in evening to find aircon working. I had been lied to. This hotel inexplicably has 4-star rating! Worst hotel experience in 30 years.

The Satellite is a good Hotel. We stayed here on two different days. The first room we had was small and it had a tub and shower in the bathroom. The second time we stayed the Bathroom only had a shower which was very small and uncomfortable. Overall for the price it was okay. We most likeley will stay there again. The personal is very friendly and helpful.

The hotel did not confirm my reservation at all...a friend in Ostea went to the hotel to confirm I had booked which they did. I have never received anything from the hotel to say that I had booked on line. They stated that in the summer they are too busy to reply to internet bookings!! The service from staff was poor...all too much trouble. The room fittings, shaver point, were broken and when asked for an alternative plug I was offered the use of the power point behind the TV which was fitted into the wardrode! Went to breakfast to be turned away as we did not have a breakfast ticket...the check in staff forgot to tell us we had to get them each morning. For a 4* hotel this was very poor....at best a 3* but actually more like a 2*

This is clearly a transit hotel, and the service and upkeep reflect this. It is getting a bit worn at the edges and, for what it offers, was significantly overpriced.
