It was really great tp stay at this hotel! Beach is right around the corner, train to Rome takes 30min. The hotel was very clean and friendly. In spite it's a busy road in front I haven't heard any noise. Very close to all Lido di Ostia entertainments but far enough to get your calmness. I definitely suggest to stay there in case you going to Rome summer time!

I would put an extra light over the Bathroom mirror and improve the Wi-Fi connection in the rooms. However, it is an excellent hotel.

15 min walk to the train station thru a short cut across a church. The hotel was located in front of the beach… v. nice 3 euro for entrance. As well 10min walk to the supermarket. The hotel was clean, we got a room with a nice balcony for sun bathing and nice view. The receptionist’s staff was v. Friendly he speaks English. Breakfast wasn’t good enough, they only offer coffee, tea sweet croissant, cakes could be better for a 100 euro rate/room. But all in all it was good we enjoyed our stay.

Good price for basic accommodation. On busy main road to Rome. Great view of lido. Ten minute walk to public beach. Good food where local families eat. Easy train access to Rome (25 mins) and Ostia Antica - magnificent archaeological site.

We thought the Ping Pong was an excellant value, nice clean accommodations. Excellant choice for an overnite stay close to the Airport when flying out from Rome. Overlooks the beach, and walking distance to restaurants. Ask for a room with a terrace! They should post more photos of the property, they would improve their business.

Great location and view, with balcony facing the sea, but lots of noise from the street. Room furniture was very poor, the bathroom shower was falling apart, there was no hair dryer. It's good if you just want a place to sleep nearby the airport. I wouldn't recommend it for longer stays.

Nicely modernized room (204) & bath. Oceanfront can't be beat. Centrally located, just around the corner from the walking only mall where the passagiata happens. My wife & I would definitely stay there again.

Location good for train to Rome and airport. Hotel is across the street from beach, not on it as the picture implies. Room was very basic and half the rooms on each floor are not accessible by the lift, you must go up (or down) one flight of stairs so if you need a lift, check first. If tired of Italian food, there is a steakhouse and a Chinese restaurant close by. No internet service.

The hotel room was fine, the people at the desk were very helpful and efficient. It was quiet as it was in October. My only suggestion is regarding the breakfast room - it would have been nice to have a bit more variety for breakfast, though we've been spoiled by other hotels. Compared to other hotels this was expensive for what it offered, but the price was comparable to its surrounding hotels. Also, we had to leave at the ungodly hour of 3:30 a.m. for our 6 a.m. flight, and had nothing to eat until on the plane at 7 a.m. because the hotel had nothing to offer us, and at the airport no food opened until 6 a.m.! It would have been thoughtful for the hotel to offer us at least some pre-packaged food and a coffee for our early a.m.!

Hotel Ping Pong was an excellent value. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly in spite of my limited Italian. Great room, gorgeous view, although bathroom had an odd odor. Ostia Lido was the perfect end to our trip.

The sunsets from the balcony of the hotel are breath-taking. The location of hotel is in walking distance of many excellent restaurants, in all price ranges. The scavi in Ostia Antica and Roma are close, by train or car. The plus is how close it is to Fiumicino Airport, if you have an early morning flight, it's so convenient.

We are repeat guests of the Hotel Ping Pong. We've always been treated with respect and with a smile. Seven years ago they were accomodating with a baby crib for our granddaughter. One of the more enjoyable features of the hotel is the very spacious veranda that overlooks the Mediterranean Sea. Our desk clerk arranged for a taxi to pick us up at 3:30 AM... and it was there for us on time. Thanks for an enjoyable visit. RE, USA

Hotel Ping Pong is a very nice clean hotel in Ostia. Direct at the beach. We have had the room with the beautiful terrace. Wonderful. With breakfast in the morning on the sunny terrace. In the Ping Pong Bar (Breakfast area) you get one of the best Cappuccino from Ostia. We will come back soon!

Despite the odd name, the hotel was great for the price. The breakfast was in the small cafe adjacent to the lobby and the barrista was fantastic. I have never seen anyone make that many Cappacinos that fast. When he has time he will put a nice decoration on the surface with the steamed milk. The location was great, right across from the beach. Room 208 is larger than some and room 106 has a large deck. For dinner we found one of the best restaurants in our whole tour of Italy. Again, it has a funny name but great service and even better food. It's called the "Eat and Go". Go out the door of the hotel, turn right, to to the second street, turn right, go one block and it's on the right set back from the street a little.

We stayed at the hotel for 6nights sadly there was no entertainment. The breakfeast not only was it inadequate they ran out of bread one morning they served served stale bread another morning. We found it very strange that the breakfeast was served in the bar/cafe and not in the breakfeast room. despite this little hicup we found the hotel satisfactory and would stay there again.

Quite honestly this would be the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.The staff do not smile hardly speak only grunt. The room has no fridge no kettle etc presumebly so you use the attached cafe wich closes all day monday so then there is nothing! The entire seem to always be smoking. We traveled italy for a month and we ended ip here cos we thought it might be a relaxing few days before we head home....it was NOT. Ostia is a dump, my advice is to stay in Rome itself.

I chose this hotel because of its proximity to Rome and the Fiumicino airport. I had never been to Lido di Ostia but knew it has been an established summer destination for many in the Lazio region. I had just taken a cruise which ended in Civitavecchia and I was looking for a place close enough to Rome, the airport, and a beach. The city is run down, and the beach is not the prettiest in Italy, but the restaurants, bars and life around it make up for it. The hotel Ping Pong is very well situated, facing the beach and at the heart of all the action in the area. It's a small hotel and it doesn't have a lot of services, but I believe that it is good value for the price charged. The decor is modern and attractive and the rooms are kept impeccably clean. Because of all the action around it, day and night,it may be considered noisy for some. But I slept well. One can go to Rome for the day and return in the evening, and the trip to the Fiumicino airport took 30 minutes and cost 1.20 euros.

It is good for its price and the location is fine. There could be more information about Ostia in the hotel and some recepionists can be nicer/more at ease with english.. The Salvus restaurant a little further on is great to sit at the sea side (good food & beverage, a.o. breakfast! And I never found out whether or not the PP has access to one of the beaches... And so nice that it is near the metro: easy traveling to Rome and airport both

Hotel Ping Pong on the sea front of Lido di Ostia is one of my favourite hotels. It is always kept in an immaculate condition. Modern and pleasantly decorated it is a real pleasure to stay there. Having a balcony to sit on and look at the Mediterranean Sea adds to this feeling.

The desription of the Ping Pong in no way represents the actual experience. There is no restaurant; guests have to walk to the sister hotel, the Sirenetta, to use the restaurant. The photographs also look more like the Sirenetta than the Ping Pong. The balcony overlooking the sea is the only saving grace. The experience would be acceptable if cheaper, but the price would indicate a much better hotel.

Since the hotel was our last stop before flying out the next morning, we really did not have time to make a call as to the services offered. The location seemed to be great--right across from the beach. The man at the desk was very accomodating, letting us use his computer to check e-mail. It was also just a short walk to visit relatives that live in Ostia.

The Ping Pong is located on the beach in Lido d Ostia which is generally a run down beach resort. The rooms which face the sea are above a bar. The advertised airconditioning was non existent (we were there on Oct. 8th) causing us to keep our door open to the noise from below until 2 AM. Hence a very poor night's sleep. Lido d Ostia is a resort that has lost it's charm. The town is very nice, but the selection of hotels is very limited. The cost of $98.00E per night was way above the quality offered, as the room was spartan and lacked charm of any kind. Ditto for the lobby and breakfast facility which was in the bar. Although the hotel had posted non smoking signs in the lobby, the smell of cigarette smoke pervaded the rooms and due to the lack of air conditioning, we were unable to keep our doors closed. Unfortunately, there is not much better close to the airport. Any suggestions for a better alternative??

It's not 5 minutes from the airport as they say, more like 15 minutes. We could not get a taxi from the airport to take us (unless we wanted to pay the price for Rome) and had to struggle to call a local taxi. The hotel had arrainged a taxi in the morning to take us to the airport but it never showed up. Next time I would pay the price to stay at the airport Hilton.

A very pleasant stay. Great idea to stay in Ostia to cool off and travel daily to Rome for sights. Surprised more people do not do it - they should advertise better for that. The weekly rail ticket is great value & makes it a very cheap option

Fixtures in bathroom appeared to be quite new. However the shower area could have been cleaner. We did enjoy being able to sit on the "patio". With the sliding door open, the noise level from the street was quite loud.

A wonderful alternative in small beach town near the Rome airport ($30 taxi one way -- a hotel shuttle would be nice!). Easy walk to train station to visit Rome (30 minutes, cost one dollar). Staff very friendly. Rooms not fancy but very clean. The town of Ostia Lido very nice for strolling in the evenings. Beach also very nice and right across street from hotel.
