Worst quality / price relation I have ever seen (price is twice as worth)! The Bellavista Hotel has two major problems: 1) Cleanliness of rooms (especially bathroom), inventory totally worn-out or broken - restoration strongly required 2) breakfast (hygienic conditions, poorness of offer, personal). Incompetent personal (morning)

The lido de ostia is a middle class beach area that leads into government housing to the north. if you don't see the government housing, enjoy the quick access to the ruins, and the beach! it is worth the extra 15 euros to get a balcony, which is huge, with a beach view.

Not bad but the double room was too small ( seems that it was a single room conversion :) )

Thought Hotel was close to airport, but was wrong. Did not see the magnificent garden or the huge pinewood. Breakfast was pretty ordinary and not much atmosphere around. Would suit summer holidays better. Close to beach. Beware: no lift available and Hotel has 2 floors of accom.

I had a great time! Not far from the beach, nice view, a nice porch and an OK price. I'd love to go back there.

Hotel was very difficult to find since the street is poorly marked and even the hotel staff couldn't direct us into the hotel by phone when we were only 5 minutes or less away. Website indicated that the hotel was seafront and had beautiful gardens. It was seafront if you don't count the 6 lane street in front, and row of restaurants, resorts on the beach opposite to the hotel, and I could not see any gardens anywhere. However, the rooms were clean and the air conditioning was great and the room was very adequate for a one night stay

This hotel is an overrated 1 star nightmare. Ostia only has 6 hotels in the entire area and the staff at the hotel use that to their advantage to jack up prices on available rooms. The breakfast was just some croissants and dried toast and some juices. The bed was so sunken in that you felt like you were on a dangling on a spit. The best part about this hotel is if you are lucky to get a room with an ocean view. The bathroom was considerably moldy. I also recommend you avoid this town on a Sunday since the entire area is closed except one or two restaurants.

This hotel is VERY hard to find, especially at night. No fault of the hotel, just an unusually poor traffic pattern in Ostia. The desk clerk was very helpful, however, we had an early wakeup to catch a plane and found ourselves locked into the building. We had to wait 20 minutes for someone from the hotel next door(both owned by the same people) to let us out. Fortunately there is lots of heavy furniture in the lobby to break out in the event of a fire. Overall, a good value for the money.

The hotel doesn't look much from the outside but is very pleasant, clean and comfortable inside. The staff are welcoming and helpful and my only criticism is that they did wander from desk on a couple of occasions and in one instance we helped ourselved to our key; anyone could have! Breakfast was good if plain: bread (always fresh) jams and pre-packed crosissants, fruit juice, coffee. They have a restaurant attached but we didn't try it and as it was end of season they had restricted the opening hours. Parking facilities were on the road. Not a problem at this time of year but could be in the height of summer. The room was comfortable, clean (except for the dust under the bed) and the air-conditioning worked!! The bathroom was a little narrow and had only a shower but was fine. The room was simply decorated and the TV was small (14 inch) but it was in a good state of decorative repair with only minor cosmetic attention required in a couple of places. The view was not spectacular but it was pleasant. From the small terrace (with only one chair) you look out across the main road, to the buildings on the beach and then across at the sea. The road was busy but not noisy and overall it was pleasant to look out on. The hotel is a 10-15 minute walk into the town centre. There are plenty of bars and restaurants along the way and in the area in general. There are several daily markets around town and one (next to the main church) that stays open till 8-9 at night. There are plenty of shops too. The beaches along the seafront mostly charge and entrance fee, however there are sections heading towards town (from the hotel) and beyond that are free. And turn left out of the hotel and follow the coast line for about 3-4 miles and you get to the long stretch of free beaches with all the facilities: changing rooms, showers, toilets (which the rest of Rome lacks), drinking water fountains (which it doesn't) and bars and restaurants. You can hire sunb

The location was great - not too many other turists (liked that A LOT ;-)) Would have been great if there'd been a small terrace/balcony of some kind :-) The beds could REALLY do with some new mattresses !!! Overall, it was a very pleasant stay - the staff was very nice and professional :-)

Excellent location: close to the airport, in front of the (free) beach. Quadruple room small and needs renovation. A perfect place for overnight stay in the case of late arrival/early deaprture to/from the Fiumicino airport.
