Residence Kristinelund - Oslo
Kristinelundveien 2 - Oslo
877-662-6988The Residence Kristinelund is a budget accommodation in Oslo, Norway, located in Bygdøy Allè, which is one of Norway’s most famous streets, that, despite being a central artery of the city, still fofers idyllic views in the springtime, when the chestnut trees that line it are in full bloom. This Oslo 2 star hotel is family run, located on a small hillside just outside the main road, that will be a great alternative for guests looking for a more informal and convenient accommodation in the beautiful city of Oslo. It is surrounded by a large garden, where you will be able to enjoy a drink with your friend and admire the magnificent, 19th century architectural style of the building.
The hotel offers comfortable, spacious and safe rooms with shared bathrooms and showers on every floor. The hotel is well connected by several means of transportation to both the city center and the airport of Oslo, which will help you to make the most of your stay in this wonderful city. The climate is very pleasant in the summer, with the famous Northern lights sometimes reaching as far as the city in the very long days of June, when there is as little as 6 hours of darkness. Be sure to pack your heavy clothes in the winter though, because the temperature can drop to as low as -20° C (-4° F)! However, this makes sure that the city is suitable for winter sports, such as ice skating and ice fishing, and you can go alpine skiing in the slopes just outside the city center!
A lovely Northern capital! The Residence Kristinelund is within walking distance of some of the most famous attractions of Norway’s capital, such as the Karl Johan Street and the beautiful Bygdøy peninsula that stretches into the waters of the Skagerrak and is one of Oslo’s most famous districts. It will also be very easy to reach the Royal Castle, the Vigeland Park and the Akershus Fortress. Lovers of modern art will particularly enjoy a visit at Norway’s National Museum. Located in Bygdøy, the Kon-Tiki museum and the Viking Ships museum both celebrate the famous Norwegian explorers that reached as far as Polinesia. Other fantastic landmarks in the city include the Nobel Peace Center, which hosts a museum that showcases the ideals of the Nobel Peace Prize and the past winners of this famed prize, and the Katedralskole high school that is renowned for its prestige and its long history.
The attentive staff at Residence Kristinelund will also be happy to give you tips on the best restaurants located in the area, where you will be able to taste the best of Norwegian and international cuisine. Local specialties include the Smørrebrød, a traditional open sandwich that is topped with countless dressings, such as different types of fish and salad, or leverpostej, a typical liver paté.

We are from Germany and think it was the worst hotel room we ever had. very very load, dirty, only one usable bathroom for the whole hotel, the other two bathrooms are from the ´60 and very dirty too. The breakfast is nothing, only Kellogg cornflakes with milk and a (good) coffee. we have waited over 2 hours for a free toilet, the people have used the shower until late at night (0.00) it was only one usable shower. TV at the room but only 3 Norwegian programs and no remote control. The beds are not comfortable, the metal springs coming out and you have pain all night

The breakfast was not recommendable. There was only coffee, hot water, milk, juice and two types of serial. No bread, no butter no cheese and no jam. Too poorly!

- Like a very expensive youth hostel. Uncosy. 8 rooms shared two toilets and showers. The whole floor was always wet from the shower. No bedside tables and no bedside lamps and far too few sockets - one for the TV-set and one for a table lamp. + wireless intenet. Breakfast quite OK. I do not recommend this place.

They changed without reason our room and put us in a cave-room with six or more bed, quite without sun-light. Absolutely inadequate!
