Quality service, clean, good breakfast, generally consistent free wifi in room though signal was stronger on main floor. Oslo is a small city and is only a very short 10 minute walk to heart of city and to train station. Very small rooms, but Oslo is expensive so the other positive factors in the hotel made it worthwhile overall.

A wonderful surprise! Having read some uninspiring comments about hotels in Oslo I was very surprised by the quality and service at the Anker. Excellent value and service and in my 4 night stay I have not one complaint. It will certainly be my first choice when I return to Oslo and I would recommend it to anyone looking for quality, affordable, comfortable accommodation in Oslo.

This was very nice place; clean, sufficient room size, nice breakfast, efficient and friendly staff, good deal for the price. It is located within a 15 minute walk from the train station; although the street is not the cleanest we walked on in Oslo. Trams and buses are located just up the street. We arrived very early in the morning and were allowed to store our luggage at the hotel prior to checking in so that we could explore the city. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel was great for us. It was reasonably priced for Oslo and close to everything. It's a 10 minute walk to the central train station. The room was quiet and spacious (again, for Oslo). The really big plus was the breakfast. Large selection and ample seating. The only problem with breakfast is with the other guests hoarding bananas, apples... anything they could fit in their bag to take out. Did an old lady really eat 4 bananas in 2 minutes before leaving? Otherwise the place was great, no complaints. If we visit Oslo again, we will definitely stay here.

The front desk staff was very helpful and answered all questions and provided directions. The room was very clean and modern. It was a perfect hotel at a very reasonable price for Oslo. The breakfast was plentiful and the breakfast hours were good. The hotel location was excellent. Only 10-15 min walk from train station and only minutes to a bus or tram. I would definitely stay here again. I had no complaints!!

I enjoyed my stay in Oslo very much, especially due to the convenience of the hotel. I had everything I need on holiday. If I have a mind to go to Oslo another time I surely will stop at Anker hotel.

The room was tiny but adequate. When I told my Oslo friends where I was staying there was concern about the neighborhood being rough with drug addicts. I picked the hotel for it's proximity to the train station and actually it was further than the 5 minutes written on the description. Breakfast was good, and the staff were very friendly and helpul.

Do not be confused by the fact that there is the Anker Hotel and the Anker Hostel next door. The Hotel (where we stayed) is excellent; perfect location for all Oslo sights, right by bus / tram stop.

Great stay. Beautiful hotel. Our room was huge and clean, with a very big panoramic window on the city. Varied and rich breakfast. The staff was very nice and qualified. The hotel is close to a public garden. In the neighborhood there are al lot of shops and restaurants. Easy to reach from the bus terminal with a nice walk through the city centre.

Good hotel room, clean and space to sit and work. Bathroom was good but shower area a bit small, but workable for price/quality balance. good breakfast buffet.

Value for money, especially in Oslo. Not overly special, but certainly acceptable for a short stay in this beautiful city. Bathroom could have been slightly more updated, but the shower more than made up for it. Stayed on the 10th floor, which had an uninspiring view of rooftops - however, it was quiet and much appreciated after a hard days' sightseeing. We would stay here again, although we might enquire as to whether a larger room would be available for our next stay. All in all, we would recommend.

Nice hotel in Oslo, which is one of the most expensives cities I have ever visited. One negative comment, the hotel is under repairs and the people started to work nearly 7:30. considering the relationship between money and service received, I would recommend the hote.

The hotel is excellent and so the service provided and location but they were making works outside the hotel and every morning around seven it was noisy and nobody could sleep. They warned us but in my point of view day is long enough to start noise a bit later.

Posizione ottima!!! praticamente a 5 minuti a piedi dal centro e ben collegata con tram e bus per gli spostamenti più lunghi! la colazione non è niente di particolare...ma dubito che negli altri alberghi migliori chissà di quanto!

Great location close to public transport and also within walking distance to the train station. Nice breakfast. Small room but it was clean. There is a Hostel and a Hotel. If you are a little older and are interested in a quiter night and a nice breakfast go with the hotel. Lastly, the best deal in Oslo hands down

My only complaint - and this is minor - is that they're doing construction on part of the hotel. They were very good to not start too early in the morning or run to late in the evening, however, if you happen to come back before 5pm the noise was incredible.

Ok hotel in central Oslo. A little bit shabby and worn oot rooms. They are doing reconstruction so maybe there will be some imrovement. All over ok hotel for 1 night stay before travelling onwards. Price for this hotel a little bit over the top.

The hotel was being refurbished, and we were given a room right next to the workmen. We found no problem with the noise as we are early risers. Otherwise the hotel was OK. The breakfast was excellent and the front office service was good.

What I would consider a standard hotel. The rooms were the largest I stayed in. Very large living room with nice furnishings. The bathroom had a decent counter, but I found the shower space to be too cramped and uncomfortable. The room was quiet, the service was professional and the facilities clean. Location was barely a block from a tram stop which was frequently served. A hostel was located next door if you cared to have some more personal interaction.

The hotel was well located with trams and buses right outside the facility. It was also a 10 minute walk to downtown and the main rail station. Buffet breakfast was good. Lobby area quite small. Renovation to hotel caused some noise and disruption, but not major. Only disappointment was lock out of wireless access. This should have been noted by hotel as it appears to have going on awhile. Staff were very helpful.

Good position, walking distance from Train Station and main city attractions. Free WiFi in room was useful. Hotel is too expensive for service provided, but after all this is Oslo, the world's most expensive city and you ca'tn find anything cheaper of this level.

Price very reasonable for such a central location. And a very good breakfast was included in the price. Only one lift for 12 floors owing to building works. Very convenient for the trams. Electronic cards for the room door failed 2 nights running and had to be reset. Would definitely stay again if the price was right.

Hotels in Oslo are expensive. With this in mind, the Best Western was good value. The rooms was pretty small and the bathroom not ideal but overall it was a basic place to sleep in an overpriced city. It was easy to get to from the train station, everything was in walking distance and there is a good breakfast on offer. We don't really have anything to complain about where the hotel is concerned, it served a purpose of not breaking the bank balance like other hotels. Nor was it in a bad area or hard to find. But not good for a romantic break.

Very good breakfast: both salty and sweet food. Please mind: we are a married couple, and they gave us a room with two beds saying they had no double bed remaining. We are not satisfied at all about this thing. Receptionists are not the kindest we met, but they provided us all the informations we asked for.

This is a very basic hotel and fell well short of my expectations. The room was clean and functional but the corridors and lift was very drab. I have difficulty accepting that this is a 3 star hotel by international standards.

Room was basic. Being Norway, normal quality/ price expectations don't apply. OK for a night or two. Walking distance from the railway and bus stations, from where you can get to the airports. Nice restaurant about 100m further on. Otherwise, surrounding area somewhat devoid of activity, and the 'hostel' next door has a dodgy character or two hanging around. Didn't feel dangerous though.

Located in the ill-famed area of Oslo. I had to wait in line for more than 20 (twenty!!) minutes for the check out. There was only one employee serving 10 persons. But I want to believe that this was a single occurence event and I was just unlucky to be there that morning.

Nice hotel, relatively near the central station, i got there at night so preferred to get a taxi but in the light of day the day after its very walkable - room was spacious for a single, at the back of the hotel so bit of noise from the bar downstairs but not much at all, the most noise was from workmen moving panes of glass or windows which involved lifting and throwing them from 7.30 am! room was spotlessly clean, not many english channels on the TV but I wasnt too bothered with that - make sure you go for breakfast early, lots of food but its a bit tight so its a bit of a scrum and free for all, i put my stuff on a table and went back up to get something and when I came back a family had sat at the table and just moved all my stuff to one side - theres no air conditioning in the rooms but you can get fans from reception, i dont know whether you have to pay for them or not - overall its a fine hotel for a basic stay, thought it was slightly overpriced but most of scandinavia seemed like that

I am rating this hotel with 9 out of 10. I mainly booked it because in one of the reviews that I read someone mentioned the breakfast, it's really a great fest where you can choose from a great variety and eat till you drop (remember how expensive is the food in Oslo). The hotel is near to the main sights of the city, we never used public transport (well only the ferry to go to one of the islands) we walked everywhere. the bus station and central station is just 10 min walk, just do not forget to get a map. Free internet in the room if you got your laptop or Iphone(sadly there is just one computer in the lobby) The room was quite clean and very stylish, probably in your next stay you will find a plasma tv (they were changing the tv's) 9 out of 10, just because there was just one girl at the front desk when we checked- out,(check-out is at 11am)we left quite a queue behind. I will stay there again if I ever comeback to Oslo...and that is for sure!
