We LOVED staying here. It was gorgeous and relaxing. Seemed like an old beautiful mansion converted into a hotel--and we felt lucky to stay here. The food was very good too, in the dining room--highly recommend the boar ragu if they have it on the menu! The balsamic porkchop however was way too intense for us, and I love balsamic vinegar. We had a veal steak though that was delicious. The only thing I wish I had known was that this hotel is a little on the outskirts. It's not IN the centro storico/historic city center. It is relatively easy to get around (bus to the funicular--you can take one of several to and from the train station)--but sometimes that will mean a wait! There is a pool, which is very picturesque, although we did not have a chance to swim in it. But on the whole we LOVED staying here and wish we could have stayed for longer. We will definitely be back.

We very much enjoyed this second stay at the Villa and will return again. The staff made a special dinner for us as we were the only ones who wanted to dine that night at the villa. Everything was lovely. Unfortunately we left with our room key but sent it back via the post from Rome! Thank you for a wonderful visit.

Good quiet location. No real interaction from staff, but not a problem

Overall I was satisfied. The one negative thing for me tas that the shower in the room had very poor pressure. This is disappointing in a supposedly 4-star hotel.

Overall a satisfactory experience but as you might expect in an old villa there where no lifts and to get to our room involved going up steps, across rooms, down steps and up steps again. This was OK for those fit enough to cope as we were but I would not recommend it otherwise. The bathroom was very small. The breakfast was fine. We had trouble finding the place and eventually caught a taxi from the station (4km - 10 euros. There were no buses on Sunday. We found the whole experience very interesting and different to anything else we tried. If you are using the funicular railway check the return timetable as they stop running surprisingly early at night.

The only downfall for this hotel was the restaurant was never open. Everything else was superb. Taxis cost 20 euro into the main square, however there is quite a lack of them. Staff were excellent and helped in every way possible.

Beautiful old villa with plenty of character and some nice antiques. Although old, the property is immaculate and very quiet, despite being within 3 minutes of main A1 motorway. Breakfast taken under the shady pergola was a lovely way to start the day.

Wonderful establishment with well maintained green areas surrounding the property. Staff was not very engaging and seemed annoyed at questions and offered little information, if any. Fine dining was offered but few people took advantage.

We felt like we were in a very beautiful private villa. the grounds were lovely and our roon very pretty, spacious and he bath was clean and updated. It wasn't "exciting" but if you want comfort and a peaceful nights rest this is a great plce to stay. we do think older couples would prefer this, but the younger people at the hotel seemed to be pleased with it as well.

This hotel is an excellent choice and a very good value. The villa is beautiful, convenient to Orvieto and the autostrada, and very quiet. The half-board option we chose was very worthwhile; the restaurant is excellent.

My wife and I started off our tour of Umbria with 2 nights at Villa Ciconia, a charming hotel a short drive from Orvieto. It was a good choice for resting after our flight from the U.S. We had a quiet room and our dinners and breakfasts were quite good.

Very nice place .Beautiful garden and very quiet .Close to funicular for easy access to beautiful Orvieto. Our bedroom was spacious but with a small bathroom, too small. In the dining room the service was efficient but the room lacked intimacy and the choice of music was inappropriate for the place. There could have also been an opportunity for the reception staff to be more warm and welcoming.

The hotel was exquisite. Be sure to dine at their restaurant, which was one of the best meals we've ever had. We especially enjoyed the bison.

We stayed in a spacious room by Italy's "standard room" standards. Everything was enjoyable. The hotel has a pool right behind the building, which the website does not mention (if memory serves). Highly recommended for families with kids.

This is a beautiful property, lovely grounds and especially nice pool. There isn't alot in this area so it'worth the inconvenience of being in Orvieto Scalo to drive to the funicular and park. The hotel is however very, very difficult to find. We would have benefited from a detailed map as we wasted alot of time finding it and one of us is even fluent in Italian. Breakfast was one of the better in our stay-very fresh. However at city prices euro 130 a bit pricey. Visiting Orvieto however was a real highlight of a 3 week trip.

Very nice charming hotel, perfectly furnished, in style with the 16th century building. Next time I'll try the restaurant that was closed when I arrived, but looked very promising.

The hotel is lovely with beautiful grounds. It is a couple of miles from the funicular to Orvieto - very convenient. Food and service were excellent. A real treat, and high value! Roberto is charming.

The outdoor pool was great. It would have been better had there been more light from outside in the room, but built in charming style, the outside walls did not permit such. The hotel lies in a pleasant park in a suburb of Ortiego:nevertheless the distance to the city is a short one, and, leads directly to the old city where an efficient mini-bus service affords easy and quick access to the duomo and its must-see surroundings.
