This hotel would be ideal for one night. It's on a main road and very noisy. Handy to the Old City Centre by car. Not much to do there. Staff were very pleasant but spoke little to no English. If one of us didn't speak Italian it would have been a bit frustrating. Good for overnight stay.

The hotel is fairly well located to visit the old town of Orvieto. The room was a little small for a family of 4. Breakfast was OK.

The hotel and the employes are great. They have everything you need. Breakfast is fantastic! so clean and nice. If you don't have a car, it might be a bit difficult access, because it is closer to the highway and distante from the station and the funiculare. But it is a great place to stay. The room was no nice and clean. People so friendly. And they have wifi. Really enjoy my stay there. We went for Orvieto Winter Jazz festival and had a bast!

This hotel was clean, functional and comfortable and in exactly the right place for us to spend one night before going on to a self catering villa for the week. One member of staff didn't speak much English(the other did), but they were all smiling and helpful. I would recommend the hotel for one or two nights - although its a bit close to the road and railway to enjoy a longer stay. The restaurant was a decent price with a reasonable choice of dishes.

Excellent overnight stop - access to autostrada is easy. Those complaining about its location need to note the address, i.e Orvieto SCALO: Scalo translating as 'stopover'. Didn't experience any of the problems indicated in earlier reviews. Enjoyed the breakfast and an evening meal. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed at the Gialletti for one night. We loved Orvieto so much that we decided to stay 2 more nights. We were unable to stay at the Gialleti because they were fully booked. We went to another Hotel called Hotel Paradiso and it was significantly more expensive, the room was much smaller, it was very loud and the breakfast did not even come close to the breakfast at The Gialletti. I would definitely strongly recommend this Hotel. The staff was very professional, welcoming and friendly. Don't let the fact that it's located a little outside of the city centre discourage you, everything is within walking distance!

Convenient location just off Autostrada between Florence and Rome. Great location as a base to explore southern Umbria. Hotel is about a 10 minute drive to center of Orvieto. Not a good location for someone without a car. Room was good value at 100 Euro per night for family of four, but rather small. Room was clean, but there was a problem with shower plumbing. Plaster on exterior of bathroom wall was wet from shower. Water was hot and there was plenty of water pressure. Walls were thin. Could hear neighbors singing in the shower and talking in their room. Breakfast was typical European fare but included machine made cappuccino only. Real cappuccino could be purchased at bar for 1.10 Euro. Lots of outside noise. Hotel is located between two train tracks, next to main road into Orvieto, bordering the Autostrada. Hotel had restaurant and prices seemed good, although we chose to eat in typical Umbrian restaurants. Front desk was helpful and provided adapter plug for room.

Were told as soon as we checked in that the A/C didn't work very well. We were lucky that it was April and not hot yet. As soon as you open the windows, the hourly train thunders by. It is very loud. It would wake you up every hour if your windows were open so we needed to keep them closed. Thank heaven that the summer heat wasn't here yet. The breakfast was very good for European standards. I would not stay here in the summer.

This has the quality of a roadside motel with a great breakfast included. The room was very small and the bathroom was tiny with no hairdryer. However, for the price, it was fine - just not a place you'd want to hang around in.

We had read some negative comments about air conditioning, but during our stay it was working fine. And if you keep windows closed there is no noise coming from road/railway.

We expected a cleaner and a more quiet room. We got a non-smoker room with parquet on the floor which was perfet for non-smokers like us. The furniture was nice but the bathroom was not wery well cleaned and the the shower was awfully dirty. The main problem were the noises that coud be heard while sleeping, people watching tv, speking and walking in the other rooms. The buffet breakfast was good and on line with the category of the hotel.

There are three hotels, side by each, in this very noisy area. our stay would have been OK if they had put us in a room that had a working AC. to their credit, they did try to fix it but it gave out during the night much to our discomfort. language was a bit of a problem at check-in and in the restaurant. but they usually could find someone nearby to help with the translations. check-out went very smoothly with no language problems. it was a good location for visiting the town. we did a one night stop-over on the way north. did I say the place was 'squeaky' clean? oh, lighting in the room could have been brighter.

In July the air conditioning was not working!!! The hotel was close to the Autostrada, easy to find and very reasonably priced. Great location and price for a stopover on a long journey from south to north. The breakfast was excellent compared to other pricier hotels in Italy. If only the air conditioning was working!

Room was fine but some noise as it was near the train tracks. Biggest complaint was that the air conditioning didn't really work. It was hard to sleep due to the heat and the train noise. Parking was free. Location was poor as you had to take a taxi to get to Orvietto.

First the Bad. The hotel is situated on a busy road with train tracks running in front of and behind the hotel. Quiet you will not get. In April, The neither the air conditioning or heat worked. There was a broken toilet seat. Now the good. Very well situated to do day trips with the car. Lots of free parking. Excellant breakfast (fresh cheese, sliced meat, peach, pear and apricot juices, fresh capucino, fresh croissant (plain, chocolate and fruit filled) fresh bread and cereal etc. The night manager spoke good english (daytime lady, not a word). We would not stay there again because of the train noise and lack of heating and cooling. Too bad. Situated elsewhere this would be a great hotel.

The room was not quiet, because there are train tracks with trains on both sides of the hotel. However, this is a convenient hotel to the autostrada and service was friendly. The BEST part is the restaurant- The service, food and wine were some of the best we had in Italy. We would go back there often if it were possible. Please do not miss this gem of a restaurant if you are in the area.

We arrived at 4am due to flight delays and lost luggage. Host could not have been nicer. They even held breakfast so we could sleep in until 11am. We liked it so well we stayed an extra night. Loved the hill town of Orvieto.

This hotel is very good at a reasonable price and with friendly service. It's comfortable and absolutely fine for a night or two's stay. The drawback is its situation next to a busy road and railway line. Take ear plugs. Spend the day out and about.

Hotel is located on a busy highway just off the Autostrada so can be noisy and when we were there in late September the AC was off. They switched it on because we complained about the heat and with the sliding door open there was too much noise and light. At 3:00 am I went down to the desk to make sure the AC was still on and it was but in ours and our friends rooms it was completely useless. Had a sleepless night due to the heat.

The staff at the desk is very friendly, the hotel is close to main roads, a train station and a motorway, and a few minutes from the old town; although the motorway and train rail are close to the hotel, the rooms are well isolated to the outside; to the inside, this is less the case, so noise from the other guest rooms can be sometimes annoyingly loud; the only other minus is the breakfast, which was a limited both in quantity and choice

O.k. for one night.

A great hotel for a base when visiting the area. It was easy to find from the motorway, had a good bus service into the old city and provided plenty of local information. We were intending to go out and eat but the staff said that their own restaurant provided good local food. They were spot on! The hotel restaurant was excellent - the presentation immaculate and the food and wine truely superb (and I am Italian, so I should know). The cost - a fraction of what we payed at other hotels during out holiday in Italy - we will most certainly be back.

Front desk personnel were warm and welcoming. The hotel itself is fairly ordinary but the friendliness of the staff would be my reason for returning. We ate in the restaurant there both nights and enjoyed the local Orvieto white wine and the friendly service. I would like to point out one glitch in the operation. No one seemed to be in charge of refilling the breakfast platters. One needed to arrive on the early side to get something to eat.

If you get off the train in Orvieto, don't stay at Gialletti. It's a cheap EconoLodge. No taxis to be found in more than an hour waiting. You'd be lucky to find the public bus which sometimes goes by the hotel. It's a cheap EconoLodge with a busy highway on the front and a busy train track on the back with a dump next to it. The desk clerk was too busy to recognize us despite the bell we rang. We had to track him down. He still didn't care. The hotel should be rated a Two-minus star at best.

We were very pleased with the hotel. We booked it on "spec" and thought it was good value for money. The only drawback was that the staff on duty when we checked in and out didn't speak English but this is only a minor quibble. The hotel's best selling point is that it is close to the Autoroute and to Orvieto which is a lovely town. We were also pleased with the satellite TV because we caught up on all the news we had missed in the previous week!

Our party consisted of 2 adults and 2 children. It was our first night of a 2-week stay in Italy. The hotel was easy to find and comfortable. Parking was convenient and the breakfast buffet was delicious. The room was very adequate for 4 people. There were no problems with our reservations using your service, and the price was among the best we experienced on our trip.
