Hotel Aracoeli - Orta San Giulio

Hotel has an excellent location on the main square and we had a nice view to the lake from the balcony. The breakfast was superb with a very large selection of different local meats, cheeses, breads, pastries etc. It was worth spending time to taste all the different delicacies. We can truly recommend Aracoeli as a place to stay in Lago d'Orta.

Our overall stay was great, but when we came to check-in which was a little early but we said we'd try anyway we found the little office which is the reception for a number of their hotels and the lady was extremely rude. It was like she just want to rush us out of the office as if she had somewhere to go. We had a car with us which we had to leave on the edge of the village in the public car park until we checked in, upon check in we asked about the hotel carpark and she explained to my fiance (who is Italian) where it was stating it was only a few minutes walk, which I can tell you it is NOT! It's about 20minutes walk into the village from the hotel carpark with suitcases in toe. Plus it's a field which I found really funny. So just be aware of this if you have a car. Ask can she maybe take your bags so that you don't have to drag them back into the village from the hotel carpark (field). It was a little noisy but it was Saturday a night that we stayed and their was a gang of people that woke us about 3am and that went on for about one hour. But really I cant complain about this as we had a balcony looking onto the square which was amazing. To be able to wake up and look out onto the beautiful still lake on the Sunday morning was breathtaking. Breakfast was excellent, the selection was fantastic there was something for everyone. Our room was lovely, my only comment re this was the shower. It is very cool and contemporary but the water went all over the bedroom floor so not so cool then. I would have loved to have some milk along with all the coffee and teas offered,surely they must know not everyone drinks their tea & coffee black, I went to ask for milk and tried to look around the kitchen but as the hotel is not actually manned by anyone there was no one to ask unless you leave the hotel and go back up the street to the reception office. It is a very different hotel and the area is fantastic so definately worth a stay.

Gorgeous boutique hotel right in the middle of stunning Orta. Massive room with an amazing walk in shower that you never wanted to get out of. The hotel's restaurant a few metres down the road is incredible! Would definitely return.

Great location, on the ancient main square in a pedestrian zone and with lake views. Excellent breakfasts and friendly, efficient staff. The associated restaurant Olina served the best evening meals we had on this vacation in Northern Italy. One warning: the beds in our room were comfortable but at floor level, which is good for young people but a challenge for me!

Our wished hotel was not reachabel, so we took this, and it was good

During our stay in this unusual hotel, seven rooms only and all of them different to the other, we enjoyed very well the place, lovely and tipical small town, nice hotel, copiousness breakfast and 10% of discount in a beatifull restaurant linked with the hotel. A lot of typical bar and pub where to enjoy the time passing. One point to highlight: is not possible parking the car close to the hotel, there is a parking silos where is possible leave safely the car, 10 euro par day during summer season

Very good accomodation, a little bit expensive but a great shower and free-bar. The little town of Orta is amazing!

Excellent breakfast. Location right beside town square, which makes it loud.
