the unit smelled very musty & moldy and appliances were very old - not at all like the pictures on the web. They expected full payment upfront in full and do not allow cancellations after you check in. If you don't like it and want to go elsewear too bad you pay. We decided not to stay at all they did refund our money after we looked at the room and refused to stay.

The trees in the back of the hotel need to be taking care of. They look really bad, they block all the view towards the lake. The rooms in the back need to be painted and stairs need to be cleaned. The location of the hotel was really good, easy to get to the Disney parks.

My fiance and I had an excellent stay at the Lake Suite Hotel. The staff was friendly, check in was easy, and we found our room easily. The rooms were clean and spacious although could have used a bit of updating as far as the carpets go. There was a nice kitchen area which is very attractive in hotel rooms in my opinion. If returning to Orlando, we will likely strongly consider staying there again!

Hotel did not have original Venere reservation when I called to confirm prior to arriving. This was resolved, however. Room had a strong deodorized odor (carpet freshener?) which permeated our clothes and took several days to air out. Best value for the price I have had in all my traveling, however.

The room was very clean every day but there was a musty smell that was VERY bad in the closet. The service was great, we accidentally locked the bathroom door and immediately they came and opened it for us and it was very early in the morning. Sometime there was not towels in the pool area but no big deal. The breakfast waffles ROCKED and the kids loved them! Laundry was great to!!! I would definately stay here again!!! Great price and service!!!

Was charged extra for 4 vs 2 people even though the reservation was made for 4. Plus was charged a resort fee over and above rate shown on web site. Our room was very musty from being closed up. Pool and deck area very nice. Breakfast had good selection and was better than expected for price. In room internet worked great.

On check in I asked at desk why it smelled so musty. Was given room #708. The room smelled very musty and mildewy. (was having trouble breathing) After 2 nights asked to have room changed. They gave us room 405 which was a little better but not much. By 4th day, I was on the phone with my doctor in NY. I am still sick, and under medication. We would have left, but your policy was no refunds. I really think you should close and gut the intire place.

When I first walked in to the lobby I noticed a smell of mold. It was awful! The girl at the desk was rude and not personable at all. She was actually a bit condescending. The room accomodations were a little tight and the kitchen and bathroom area were dirty. We found black colored residue in the sinks. The beds were not comfortable at all and the pillows were extremely flat! Sunday morning we were greeted with a ear piercing fire alarm that could not be turned off for 10-15 minutes. There was no fire or problem to be found and no one apologized when we were checking out. The only decent thing worth mentioning about this place are the Mickey Mouse waffles which the kids enjoyed. I will not be staying here again and won't recommend this place to anyone.

Like the guitar amp in "This is Spinal Tap" your survey needs an 11 for this hotel in spaciousness of rooms, hotel surroundings, overall stay, and price/quality. Traveling as a family, we found this property to be almost too good to be true.

This room was excellent and a wonderful value! It was myself and my 3 kids and we were there for 7 nights. If you'd like to see pics of the room, pool area and more from the hotel as well as the theme parks, etc we visited, please feel free to go to my homepage for Webshots at http://community.webshots.com/user/EMTgoneNUTZ. There are excellent pics of the hotel room, etc there! There was a minor problem with myself and a personal situation with the front desk but I dont hold it against the hotel and am OK with what happened. The room was very nice, very clean and we had plenty of room to be comfortable. They are in the process of some upgrading and painting that has begun since new management took over. I think this place is excellent and will definitely consider staying there again in the future!
Canada, Jun 2006
the only problem we had was on the day that we first got there, we were dropped off at the wrong hotel and had to walk there, and then found out that the name of the resort had changed which is confusing to many people, overall we had a good stay, the room wasn't as clean as one would hope

An exceptional place to stay as a family. We had an alcove for the kids to sleep in, a studio with full kitchen for us all to enjoy, a fabulous property to explore, and not too much of a drive to the attractions.

Everything was lovely and the staff were very understanding and helpful. The website needs to update their contact info for this location because the phone and fax numbers are wrong.

Upon checking-in, waited 20 minutes at the front desk until being assisted. Two people at desk, one worked and one watched. They had no record of my reservation eventhough I provided a confirmation number, name and copy of reservation. This was the same issue with another family member who reserved a room also and I have seen other guests comment on this as well. I booked a king size bed and ended up with a double-size bed. I told the front desk and they told me it was not possible. I told them to go look at my room and see for themself. Then, they said it was a mistake and usually does not happen. Overall, the price paid was worth the stay. It is close to Disney, the pool was in good condition, the continental breakfast was good. The rooms and decor are a little outdated, but adequate for those who are looking for a nights sleep and will be on the go most of the time.

Employees are very rude, rooms are very dirty, i had to take my car to go to the pool because the room was almost 1/4 mile from the pool ! The worst hotel room i never had ! I pay $59 for a night and they should giving you $59 for staying there ! My room was stinking and as a bonus i had ants in the kitchen. Nice... A very bad experience !

Two gripes: 1) Even though I called that very morning to confirm our room and stress that we would be arriving very late, to which I was told as long as we gave a credit card number they would hold our room, they did not. Arriving at 2:00 a.m., excited yet tired, we found out some renegade employee had given our loft bi-level room out since we were running so late. The clerk was apologetic, and put us up in a family suite for the night (much smaller than the loft room) and the next day we were able to move into the loft bi-level, but I was certainly disappointed as I had called specifically to ensure getting our room late at night, and was not happy with having to spend time our first full day in Florida moving from one building to another. (They waived the resort fee for our trouble, which did save us $5.00 per day for the length of our stay, which came to $55.00, so yes, they did step up and make things right by us. 2) For the price, I was very happy with the spaciousness of the bi-level room, the fact there were two bathrooms, two TV's, and a nice king size bed in the loft area. I loved the free continental breakfast, actually enjoyed overlooking the "swamp" out our back deck, but must say I was disappointed in the actual wooden walkways, steps and decks to the rooms. The wood seemed rotten. The rooms were clean enough, but the windows were too dirty to leave the curtains open. But, honestly, I did have a good time, loved the price we paid, and would return if given a good price again.

This place was probably wonderful 10 years ago! Its now very run down and worn out. We have a quiet room round the back - wouldn't have wanted a different location. Dissapointing for kids. BUT superb value if you just need a room for the night & have your days planned (which is likely in Orlando).

Hotel room was SEVEN buildings down from the main lobby and pool. The "beach" was basically sand that came to the water's edge, and then it turned into weeds.... We were right next to a highway, which was being worked on EVERY NIGHT TILL 11:00 PM. Nice, if you like a construction crew outside your room making loud noises till late into the evening.... The air conditioning didn't work for the 1st two days that we were there, opened window in upper bedroom, to find the screen was ripped (see noise problem above). Then after a few days, when the temperatures outside got down to 55 degrees F or less, they finally fixed it. Although the room had a "kitchen", the pots, pans, and silver-ware were very sub-par (as if they had been bought accross the street at the "dollar store"). BTW, there was only 1 teaspoon, and it looked like it had been chewed on by a rat or something. Two tv sets, but they had different channels on each. Had to steal plastic spoons and sugar (for my coffee in the morning) from the dining area every morning. And even had to ask for coffee a few times (they kept leaving de-cafinated crap only).
