Staff when we arrived was very poor and showed no interest. The hotel did not match up to the pictures on the internet and was undergoing some degree of makeover. The restaurant was closed even on a Saturday evening. One of the reasons for picking this hotel was the fact it had a restaurant which we wanted after driving all day. When we asked the reception if there was anywhere to get food locally we were told the nearest was in the centre of town some 15 minutes walk down dark roads. We actually found a restaurant next door to the hotel.

First, the strengths. The outdoor areas were very nice and a large free parking lot was located adjacent to the hotel (only pay parking is available in Orange). It was located next to the train station, but as we had a rented car, this didn't matter. They have a very nice restaurant in the same building, even though it is a separate facility. Now the weaknesses. The hotel was a bit on the shabby side, although the bathroom was quite large (almost the size of the room!). Although the room was air-conditioned, it was set for 24 degrees which for me was too warm (okay I'm American). There was no controls available for the AC unit, so I had to go down to the desk to ask how to adjust it. They reluctantly provided me with a hand-held remote unit to regulate the temperature. If I'm paying 100 euros a night to stay somewhere, I should be able to adjust my room temperature to my desire. My wife and I were travelling with our 15-year-old son, so I reserved a triple room. The room had three single beds rather than a double and single found in other places we stayed at. The house cleaning staff was poor with some of our trash not picked up. Worse, on the 2nd night there they failed to provide us with any towels which I didn't realize until the next morning when we were leaving early to drive to the airport. On the way out, I mentioned this to the desk clerk and rather than apologizing, she wanted to know where the AC remote was! Overall, this was one of the poorer choices we made in hotels during our trip to France. It was overpriced for the area, and for the services provided. I would find a different hotel if I returned.

Hotel across the road from train station, a bit of a walk into the centre but not too far. Hotel was OK for the price. The staff were not very friendly and the hotel ppol was small and dirty. We stayed there two night and we never saw anyone clean the pool or garden area. The hotel is old but the room was clean.

The hotel is an older building and at first looked a little un-inviting but after we were there a short time we really enjoyed the hotel and the staff was very friendly and accomodating.

Extremely convenient location if you are using the train.Quiet and clean. We opted out of breakfast. We must have been there between seasons as the hotel was almost empty and the town seemed half shut. We came back to the hotel to find the receptionist leaving for lunch which would have left us locked out for 2 hrs. Fortunately I speak French and was able to tell her we needed to quickly access our room and would go out again in 15 min. so she could go home to eat. They surely have someone else there during busier times!

The room was very small and the decoration and bathroom were a little jaded but that's France for you. The pictures on the web site looked better than the Hotel. I was looking forward to breakfast overlooking the pool but despite the fact that it was a very warm morning, petit dejeuner was served in a small room at the front - but it was very good. An OK place for an overnight stop - having said that Orange is such a beautiful place it needs more than one day there.
