Hotel Opatija - Opatija

Very old hotel with high (for Croatia) prices. The attic room are without windows. For air-condition you have to pay extra.

The gap between the advertised hotel and the actual hotel is profound. On the plus side, the "old" part of the hotel is beautiful on the outside, the patio is gorgeous, the views are great, and the location is great. On the negative side, the description does not match what you find, which is a shabby room, a dirty bathtub that does not work (including mold on the tab), a deteriorating dining room, unwelcoming public rooms whose decor does not match the hotel. I strongly urge you to change your write-up on this hotel...this not a good value, the maintenance of the rooms is poor, and the overall feel is way beyond what you expect from a formerly grand hotel.

Hotel clerk recommended the nearby hotel, Ruzmarin, which was excellent! I don't remember how the photo/maps/type of available rooms match up with web pages info... you should have an option to check 'not applicable' or 'undecided' on the rating system.

Excellent old hotel with much character and history in a beautiful resort town.

Hotel vecchiotto ma affascinante, peccato che a noi è capitata una stanzetta dell'ala moderna (non visibile sul sito), piccola e anonima, affacciata sul retro, e con due finestrelle alte apribili solo salendo in piedi su una sedia.

The room was quite small; we wouldn´t have payed the high price-addition for a seaview, if we would have known that it is for the seaside- without any view to the sea.

Stanza piccolissima ..... ho portato fuori il comodino per avere più spazio. Cosa dire? Una delusione!

Part of a trip along the Adriatic Coast from Dubrovnik to Porec. Also to revisit Opatija again after over 4O years. After all these years it is even more of a delightful place.

Great value during peak travel season. Nice hotel. You can tell it was once an amazing place to vacation. The hotel has aged a bit, but is still a charming place. The staff is excellent and very helpful. The rooms are clean. Be sure to request one with a view of the sea. Opatija was the perfect get a way in the middle of a long European vacation.

The hotel is very old, but excellent,all the town is in old style, very intersting for mature people.

The breakfast is the best

The hotel is quite grand although needs some updating, some areas need some decorating, but we enjoyed the hotel, the breakfast was excellent and the indoor pool was enjoyable.

We were travelling as 2 matured couples. The hotel lacks sufficient parking spaces, there just was not one available.In the end we gave them our car keysand ask them to find one.We also requested some ice, the reception clerk sent us to the bar,where we were told that if we wanted ice we would have to buy a drink with ice in it.2 weeks before our arrival, the hotel dropped its price from 96 to 70 Euro, when I asked if we would qualify for the reduced price the clerk refused to even discuss it.

The first night we spent with out AC, it was to hot to sleep. We had been up since 4 am and a band played below our open windows until mid- night. The room was so small we had to close the window to get past the bed. You need to make it clear on booking an AC room. For 10 euros more, which we did, move to a room that much larger, and had a balcony. The rest of the stay was fine.

J'avais réserver deux chambres pour un montant de 61 euros chacune et je viens de m'apercevoir qu'au lieu de 122 euros j'ai été débiter de 126,80 euros.

Parkplatzproblem Die Zimmer an der Westseite sind sehr laut, da direkt über der Strasse zur/von der Autobahn

We had 2 rooms and only stayed the one night. The breakfast was great. The hotel had the characteristics of days gone by with very friendly service. We would choose this hotel again if we needed to stay in Opatija

Room without windows! In the oldest building of the hotel.

Very nice place to spend a week because is in the center of the north part of cracia and there is a lot to see.The hotel is very clean and nice , beakfast is generous and the half board is a very good deal.Service and wellcoming are excellent.

I had an excellent time there and the hotel service was second to none. For the price I paid which was about 50 euro per night for room and great breakfast & dinner then I could not have asked for much more! Will definatley be visitng Istria and Croatia again!

I have stayed with a couple of friends for just one night. We just broke on our way from Sofia, Bulgaria to Milan, Italy.Above all - Croatia is a country one must see - beautiful landscape, clean, quiet and even so modern and up to date plus excellent roads and highways. Opatia is a resort placed near Rijeka - just a bit old-fashioned style, but very nice and calm, with this special mood of best-of-the-past being kept. So is Opatia hotel. Do not expect luxury - it obviuosly had been one of the most expensive ad luxurious places but years ago. Now it is just quiet, clean, well managed. Breakfast is very good. Location and view from the see-bound terrace is amazing.Require a room facing the see if you have the chance to get one. On a basic scale - just good. Value for money - excellent.
