Firstly don't get a cab from the ferry to this hotel, we were nearly up to 30 euros by the time we made it off the wharf, all up around 65 euros to the hotel. I don't know how else you would get there unless you had your own car as there is no bus or train to Portisco. We had to hire a car at Portisco for 130 euro per day (nothing cheaper was available). This is a place purpose built as a marina, so there is not much to do but look at boats. As previously mentioned, there is no public transport and you a quite a way from anywhere. Hence the car hire. Appropriately named 'le Sirene' had the most noisy plumbing I have ever heard. It began around midnight, and about every hour thereafter there was an apparent 'siren' calling from the bathroom! We informed reception next morning who said they would have someone look at it. The next night there had obviously been nothing done, but my husband suggested leaving the shower running all night which seemed to rectify the problem. Again we complained to reception and asked for another room which we were given. Unfortunately it was above and not far from our previous room, so we still had the screaming plumbing, albeit slightly muffled, but also a very noisy air con unit which was behind a door in the bedroom. The lady at reception obviously knows about the plumbing, as she explained because we were in one of the lower rooms there is a problem with air escaping when the water is not being used at night. The balcony was very nice, but as mentioned by other reviewers not private. The rooms were small and the mini fridge set to just above room temperature - small bottle of water 5 euros! The pizza place near the hotel was the best value with great, but fairly pricey. The restaurants were expensive and some of the fish on display outside was far from fresh - personally I would have thrown it out! How to reach Hotel Le Sirene

By car
From Olbia Port, take the SP82 to Palau and, at the intersection, turn right onto the SS125 in direction of Costa Smeralda-Porto Rotondo. Past the Porto Rotondo exit and continue to Costa Smeralda SP73. At the crossroad, turn right onto SP94. Turn right again to Marina di Portisco, following the hotel signs.
From the Golfo Aranci Port, follow the indications to Costa Smeralda-Porto Rotondo and then proceed as above.

By airplane
From Olbia-Costa Smeralda Airport, turn left heading north and follow the signs to Arzachena-Palau SS125-Costa Smeralda. Go straight through the town of Olbia and go to the underpass keeping the left lane. Pass Olbia and you will arrive at a roundabout. Turn right in direction of Costa Smeralda-Porto Rotondo. Continue towards Costa Smeralda SP73 and follow the indications above.
